Nyx took a deep breath, nodding slghtly. "Okay." he said softly, giving him a faint little smile.

Jude nodded, casting a quick glance around the exhibits before turning back to Nyx with a smile. "Mhm, so— you feel like staying?" He prompted, quietly taking his hand.
Nyx nodded, lacing his fingers through Jude's. "Yeah." he replied, giving Jude a little smile. "If that's okay?" he raised his eyebrows a little.
"Of course," Jude said, smiling as he pressed a quick kiss on Nyx's cheek, "There's another exhibit hall over here. Stuff about animals and the environment. You wanna check it out?"
Nyx nodded excitedly. "Yes please." He replied, already moving to get over to that hall.
Jude smiled as they walked over to the next exhibit, peering into the wide glass enclosures of taxidermy animals and forestry. "Ooh, look—" He said, pointing at the large figure of a mammoth skeleton standing proudly in the centre, gazing at the long tusks curled like hooks.
Nyx's eyes went round, looking at the animal skeletons with wonder in his gaze. "Wow…" He breathed.
"Cool, right?" Jude prompted, wearing a smile when he turned to catch Nyx's expression. He glanced around the wide enclosures of different habitats, letting out a soft laugh at how eerily realistic the taxidermy figures were, "They almost look like they're alive."
Nyx nodded a little, looking around. "Belt animals." he commented with a sideways grin, looking up at Jude with a smirk.
Jude smiled at the little remark, turning to Nyx and letting out a soft laugh. "Of course. Right," He said, nodding as he glanced back to the crowded exhibits, "Belt animals, my bad."
He laughed quietly, leaning against Jude and looking around at all the taxidermied animals.
"They're a little creepy," Jude observed, smiling as he tilted his head at the frozen figures staring blankly into space, "But still wicked. And who knows, they might get replaced by holograms or something in the future."
He nodded a little bit. "Maybe." he replied softly, eyes flickering around as he examined the creatures. "I think I prefer real animals, though."
"Hmm, me too," Jude agreed, looking into the different habitats of the still animals, "And who knows, maybe holograms will replace these things. I overheard a few people taking about it at RTI a few weeks back."
He grimaced, drawing closer to Jude at the mention of RTI. "Ew." he replied, wrinkling his nose and shaking his head.
Jude bit his lip, nodding as he remembered how powerful the company really was. He has agency in everything. "As much as I'd hate to think about it, I gotta admit, they had some good ideas," He said, sighing as he turned to Nyx with a sympathetic smile, "And some not-so-good ones."
He hummed faintly. "And which one am I?" he asked, knowing that he could fit either category. Knowing that some would think that he had been a fantastic idea, and others…an abomination.
Jude pressed his lips into a thin line, turning the question over in his head. He knew that what the company had done to him was unforgivable, but he couldn't help remembering the first time he'd laid eyes on Nyx— and the first time he'd smiled. All seemed new and hopeful through his eyes. "You're…a good thing," He said, trying to choose his words carefully, "But you came into the world in a very bad way."
Nyx nodded faintly. "Okay." He replied simply. He seemed to take Jude at his word for…well, for everything, which…if Jude had been a worse person, that would quickly have led Nyx down a very dark path. Because Nyx placed his trust blindly and without really questioning anything, just following along with Jude and accepting his words. If Jude had said that Nyx had been a bad idea, Nyx would have accepted that and internalized it, even if it hurt.

Jude let out a quiet breath, nodding to himself as glanced at Nyx with a soft smile. "Yeah, you…you're a good thing," He said, pressing a soft kiss on his cheek and looking away a little shyly. Nyx was a good thing in his life, but truthfully he'd known from the start that the risk that surrounded the two of them was worrying. "I'm glad I have you in my life. And I think my friends will think the same."
Nyx smiled a little, looking up at Jude. "Okay." he replied again, kissing Jude's cheek in return and leaning into him.
Jude smiled as he nodded to himself again, glancing around the museum with Nyx's hand in his. "I'm thinking about how you meeting them might go," He said, knowing that they were wildly unpredictable with how they interacted with one another, "I mean— I'm sure it'll go well, but I'm just wondering about the things they might ask, y'know?"
Nyx shrugged a little. "What am I supposed to say if they ask…where we met? Or where I'm from? Or… anything?" He asked, looking up at Jude curiously.
