Eve’s fingers trembled. She paced quickly over to the door and opened it again.

Farah was sitting on the couch, clinging to Saul’s hands and wincing as Ben treated the wounds on her back. She heard the door open and turned quickly. “Eve…”

anya came bac in as well, nodding to the people

Farah stood quickly, letting her blouse fall back down to cover the wounds. Ben grunted quietly in protest.

“Eve, I… I’m sorry,” Farah whispered. “I’ve only ever wanted to protect you.”

anya pushed eve to her mother apologize

Eve didn’t meet her mother’s gaze. “Then why didn’t you tell me the things Rosalind showed me?”

Farah blinked, taken aback by Eve’s words. Her lips opened to speak, but no words came out.

anya went over to ben " could you wrap these for me?" she asked softly

Ben took in the burns and nodded. "Yes, of course dear," he said, turning towards the small bag he'd brought with him.

Eve's eyes finally looked up into Farah's and searched for an answer. "Why?" she pleaded, wanting to put hope in her mother, but even that was becoming increasingly difficult.

"Because I couldn't let what happened to me happen to you," Farah blurted.

Saul rose from the couch and put his hand on her shoulder. "Farah…"

anya looked up " what happen..?" she asked ben

Ben looked from Anya to Farah to Saul. "Is she going to…?" Ben left the question unfinished.

Farah, holding back sobs, nodded. "Yes, I'm going to tell them." She looked over her shoulder at Saul, and he nodded encouragingly.

"Tell us what?" Eve demanded impatiently.

At Eve's tone, Farah turned to look at her again. "Rosalind," she began slowly, "was my mentor when I attended Alfea. She discovered, eventually, the power I had inside me, and she proceeded to manipulate and used me. When you were born, I felt the power in you, and I figured if you were oblivious to it, then it couldn't hurt you. When I heard Anya retell similar events that had happened to me, and it only made me believe what I already knew. That should Rosalind find you, she would use you for your powers."

anya sighed " and she got that today.." she mumbled

Farah nodded sadly. "Exactly." Her eyes shone with tears she refused to let slip. "I love you, Eve…" Farah's voice trembled. "I was only trying to protect you."

Eve exhaled shakily. After a tense, silent pause, her expression melted. "Mom…" She rushed into Farah's arms, and the headmistress of Alfea held her daughter tightly.

anya smiled, watching the two. once her arms were finished being wrapped she moved her fingers to adjust to it.

"Comfortable?" Ben asked Anya, smiling kindly as he did so.

Farah could feel Eve trembling. "Are you sure you're alright?" she asked worriedly. "Rosalind didn't hurt you?"

anya nodded. " yes, thank you.." she said softly.

"She will come back," Farah said quietly. Eve winced, and Farah stroked her hair gently.

"Farah, you need to sit, so I can help you recover," Ben said knowingly.

anya got up, holding her now bandaged hands out for eve.

Eve reached out and took Anya's hands while Farah resigned herself to sitting back down. When Ben lifted up her shirt, her back was decorated with bruises. Eve quickly looked away.

anya nuzzled into eve, sighing softly

"I'm scared," Eve whispered directly into Anya's ear so only she could here her.

" i know, i am too." anya mumbled back. " just, take it easy.."

"I love you," she whispered too. "I can't loose you."

" me the same" she said

Farah hissed in pain as Ben tended to her wounds. Hearing her mother in pain caused Eve to flinch as if it was her who had been hurt.

" easy llove." she said and looked to saul " im going to take her out.."
