Liam shook his head, “No, you’re not mean. You can be a little sarcastic at times but not mean.”
Liam shook his head, “No, you’re not mean. You can be a little sarcastic at times but not mean.”
"Thanks," Cyprus said before turning to look at the clouds. "At least you're nice to me."
“It pays to be nice to everyone, no matter who they are.” Liam murmured, rolling onto his back.
Cyprus scoffed at that. "Tell that to the damned fool who summoned the creature that killed everyone I knew."
“Alright, alright. Maybe not everyone but you knew what I meant. Maybe not magical creatures that can be summoned for evil but humans that are nice.” he said with a shrug.
"You know what? You are a good person," Cyprus said almost randomly. Realizing the suddenness of his statement he looked off to the side, a faint violet flush rising to his cheeks
Liam smiled and knew for a fact Cyprus was blushing in some way and knew he probably was as well, “So are you.” He replied, putting his hands behind his head and closing his eyes.
A sort of dorky smile spread across Cyprus' face, though he did his best to hide it. "Thanks," he eventually muttered, turning his gaze to the clouds
Liam’s smile stayed on his face although it did lessen a little but he kept his eyes closed. He was feeling pretty tried for some reason that evening but didn’t want to leave, “No problem.” He said after a little while.
Cyrus laid there in silence for a moment, violet eyes shifting from cloud to cloud. "How was your day?" he asked
“Boring, stressful. Pretty sure I’ve failed my test and because of the test I was late for work… again,” He sighed, “I wish everything was easier.”
"What was the test about?" Cyprus asked, now rolling onto his front. He let the rest of his body form so he could prop his arms beneath his chin
“Super novas and galaxies in our solar system, how they formed and so on. I might have zoned out or I’m just being paranoid like normal.” He managed to form a small smile but it didn’t last long.
"Well, I'm sure you didn't do too badly. You appear to enjoy astronomy, which should make it easier to answer questions than you realize," Cyprus assured him
Liam nodded, “I know, I just can’t help but worry. I wish I didn’t, but I do.” He sighed again and looked up at the sky, trying to take his mind off of work.
"Well, worry never does any good," Cyprus said before sitting up. He fished something out of his cloak, grinning faintly as he pulled an electric blue rose from beneath it. "Here. This is a sort of lucky flower, and you can have it to help you worry less."
Liam looked at in awe. It was extremely beautiful, “R-Really? Cyprus I can’t, it’s yours and I’d probably loss it. It is extremely beautiful though.” He said, his gaze flicking between Cyprus’s face and the flower.
"Please, I have a whole clearing of these. Take it," Cyprus insisted. He didn't wait for Liam's answer, simply reached over and placed it on his chest. As he did so the rose began to shift until it was a silver locket, the rose pattern glowing faintly
Liam picked the pocket up in one hand and admired the pattern for a moment before looking at Cyprus, smiling and giving him a hug. He quickly let go and rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment, “S-sorry, but um, thank you, it’s beautiful.”
Cyrus grinned widely at the hug, a faint violet tint coming to his cheeks without him noticing. "It's the least I can do for someone as nice as you."
“I-it’s nothing, I’ve already told you that,” He smiled at him, “But really, thank you.” Liam said, picking the locket up again and getting a closer look.
"It should give you a bit of good luck. Just don't be surprised if you happen to find what appear to be oddly colored fireflies following you at night. They're luck spirits, they're attracted to that type of flower."
Liam smiled, “That’s fine,” He tucked the locket down his shirt and it felt warm against his skin. It calmed him for some reason but it must be to do with the flowers properties.
Cyprus smiled happily, his gaze turning to the clouds again. He was surprised that he had made Liam so happy. Maybe he was doing something right for once
Liam sighed and closed his eyes, one hand on his chest where the locket lay and the other behind his head, “I’m glad I met you, Cyprus.” He said, quietly.
