(Me, too!)
"We can start," Hunter said. Turning around, he marched into the kitchen dramatically. "Onwards, my minion!"
With a smile, Kenzie shook her head and followed Hunter into the kitchen.
"So. We'll need noodles, of course. Where do you keep them? she asked, looking around the room.
"In that shelf at the top you will peek," Hunter said, pointing to the upper cabinets. "Right at the corner, you shall find what you seek."
(Excuse Hunter's lame rhyming)
Kenzie turned to Hunter and gave him a strange look.
"You're weird, sometimes," she stated before turning back to the cabinets.
Reaching up to grab the pasta, Kenzie realized that she was just a little too short to reach, so she climbed onto the counter. When she had the box of noodles in hand, she handed them to Hunter, still sitting on the counter.
(She really does think it was funny, though.)
Hunter looked at her in mock distaste.
"Do not insult my ability to rhyme, for you will commit a grave crime," he said, before turning around to find other ingredients. When he felt something sharp poke his cheek, he looked to find Kenzie sitting on the counter with the pack of spaghetti in her hand. "Why did you not ask for assistance?"
"With what? Grabbing the pasta? I like sitting here," she stated with a wide grin, her eyes sparkling mischievously.
"You could have gotten hurt," Hunter frowned. "The counter could have been slippery."
Kenzie shrugged. "I'm fine. I've been climbing on counters for as long as I can remember, so I know how to keep my balance."
Hunter approached Kenzie, and placing his hands on either side of her.
"What if you had slipped?" Hunter repeated. "Kenzie, you could've just taken a chair. Or you could've just asked me."
Is he seriously that worried about me? Kenzie wondered. She cocked her head to the side and gave Hunter a worried look. Gosh. I hope I didn't upset him. Stupid, climbing on counters. You're not five anymore, Kenz. Stop acting like it.
"Sorry…" she murmured, moving to get down.
Hunter started to feel guilty. She didn't get hurt, you idiot. Calm down. When Kenzie moved to get down, Hunter moved closer, keeping her in place.
"I just don't want you getting hurt," Hunter murmured. "So please be extremely careful when you're climbing counters."
He was so close. So, so close.
Just kiss him, already, a little voice whispered in the back of Kenzie's mind.
No. I– I can't. I–
You're scared? C'mon, you can do it.
Can I?
Yes! Now, do it!
Kenzie's eyes flicked to Hunter's lips, then up to his eyes.
Screw it, I'm kissing him.
She leaned down and placed her lips on his, gripping the edge of the counter to stabilize herself.
(She finally did it! Go Kenzie!!!)
(AH SHE DID IT. SHE FINALLY DID IT!)
Hunter's eyes widened when Kenzie's lips touched his. He was surprised at Kenzie for initiating the kiss, but throwing all his surprised in the bin, Hunter pressed his lips against hers harder, his hands on her shoulders to make sure she didn't fall back.
(I had to put clean dishes away, but I'm here now!)
"Mmph," Kenzie moaned as Hunter pressed his lips harder against hers. Her eyes fluttered closed, and she leaned in closer to him, nearly falling off the counter.
Hunter wrapped his arms around Kenzie's waist, lifting her off of the counter. He felt pleased when he heard Kenzie make a sound into the kiss, and kissed her fiercer than before.
(I'm sorry! I was making a poster in class.)
(I'm sorry! I was making a poster in class.)
(Np!)
Kenzie wrapped her arms around Hunter's neck, once again entangling her fingers in his hair. She was sure that if he wasn't holding her up, she would collapse from sheer pleasure.
Hunter didn't want to let go of Kenzie, but he knew he needed oxygen. So with deep regret, he pulled away, gasping for breath.
Kenzie buried her face in Hunter's chest after he pulled away, breathing hard herself.
Did I really just kiss him? she thought, giddy after the kiss. I did. I really did. And I really, really liked it.
Hunter grinned as he breathed hard.
"I thought you weren't an initiating person," he breathed out teasingly. "What do you call that?"
