(So… Question: Have you seen the Princess Bride?)
(So… Question: Have you seen the Princess Bride?)
Hunter grinned.
"Perfect."
(Nopes, I have not.)
(Well, that's sad… It's really funny.)
Kenzie gave him a small smile, trying to hide her nervousness. She knew he'd see past her facade, but she was determined to hide it as much as possible.
"Anyway, I should go make you your noodles," Hunter said, noticing her nervousness but choosing not to comment on it.
"Okay," Kenzie said, an immense wave of relief crashing over her when Hunter didn't mention her nervousness. She started towards the couch, then paused. "You do know that I meant spaghetti, right?"
Hunter feigned a shocked look.
"Spaghetti? But you said noodles!"
Kenzie rolled her eyes with a good-natured smile. "You should go make the food before my stomach starts to eat me from the inside-out," she laughed. "Actually, let me help you. You didn't let me last time, and it'll go much faster with four hands than with two."
(hums)
(Kenzie? Kenzie, what're you doing? No, put that book down. Avery was just teasing you, chill!)
(I finally caught up! Yes! And Princess Bride is one of my FAVORITE movies!!!!!!)
(I finally caught up! Yes! And Princess Bride is one of my FAVORITE movies!!!!!!)
(Yay! Hi, Natasha! Also, I'm back! I went to a baby shower and I won knee-high hedgehog socks and they're super cute!)
(Huntzie hasn't kissed— not teasing or light kisses, but actual kisses— since page 24. It's been 11 pages… That's gotta be a new longest record for them since they've been together!)
[I mean, it's technically been about 5-6 hours (in their time; in our time: a week), so…]
(Hello-hello! XD)
(Hello! Anxiously waiting for more HUNTZIE XD)
(Me, too! Just waiting for Callie's return!)
(… For some reason I thought today was Wednesday…)
(Oh. I think it's 'cause Notebook seems kinda dead today, like it usually is on Wednesdays…)
Kenzie rolled her eyes with a good-natured smile. "You should go make the food before my stomach starts to eat me from the inside-out," she laughed. "Actually, let me help you. You didn't let me last time, and it'll go much faster with four hands than with two."
Hunter narrowed his eyes.
"Do you want to steal my secrets, villain?" he asked, a spatula in his hand as he pointed it at her as if it was a sword.
"Secrets? What secrets?" Kenzie asked, looking around with wide eyes. "You have secrets? About food?"
"Of course I do, silly human!" Hunter exclaimed. "What do magicians and chefs have in common?"
Kenzie raised an eyebrow. "They never reveal their secrets?" she guessed, smiling playfully.
"Exactly!" Hunter poked Kenzie's nose with the spatula. "I want you to swear on the River Styx you will never even breathe a word about my secret ingredients if you wish to assist me in this top-secret matter."
Placing her right hand over her heart and putting her left hand in the air, Kenzie swore, "I swear on the River Styx that I will never breathe a word about your secret ingredients."
She bit her bottom lip as she finished, trying not to laugh.
Hunter continued staring down at his girlf- assistant before finally smiling.
"This is a serious oath," he stated in a hard tone. "Break it, and you will be faced with terrible luck for the rest of your mortal life."
Kenzie nodded seriously, then asked, "Can we start now? I'm hungry." As if to prove her point, her stomach growled again, and she gave Hunter a guilty smile.
