Kenzie’s eyes widened at how close Hunter was to her, then flicked down to his lips and back up to his eyes. She swallowed, then started to speak, her voice wavering a bit, “I, um…” she trailed off, then cleared her throat. “Darn it, Hunter! Now I don’t know what to do. You made me lose my concentration.”

Hunter only smirked, a chuckle erupting from his throat.
"Good acting," he grinned. "But I guess my charms render you vulnerable."

"Isn't it?" he whispered, a smirk on his lips.

A blush slowly made its way to Kenzie's cheeks, and her breath caught in her throat.

"Nope," she whispered back, staring into Hunter's eyes. "Just flustered."

"I don't believe you," Hunter's smirk started to drop and his eyes began to close as he leaned closer to kiss her. When he noticed Kenzie doing the same thing, he immediately changed his direction and kissed the corner of her mouth before pulling away and winking at Kenzie cheekily. "Don't you want your car back?"

Letting out a shuddering breath, Kenzie glared at Hunter.

"You're mean. You know that right?" she asked, slipping underneath his arms. She turned her back to him and walked to her car.

Hunter grinned back at her.
"You saw that coming," he winked. "But hey, if you want to kiss me, just tell me. Why so shy?"

"I didn't think I'd have to tell you," Kenzie replied with a smile, still not facing him as she unlocked her car.

"You're right," Hunter said after a moment of silence. "You should just do it."

Kenzie froze and straightened. She turned around slowly, and the setting sun reflected off her eyes, showing a gleam to them that they hadn't held before.

"If you couldn't tell," she whispered, suddenly shy again, "I'm not much of an initiator."

Hunter felt a thump in his chest and suddenly he turned around, covering his face.
"Damn it," he cursed. "You're so damn adorable."

Hunter felt a thump in his chest and suddenly he turned around, covering his face.
"Damn it," he cursed. "You're so damn adorable."

The corners of Kenzie's lips twitched upwards in a small smile.

"I'm adorable?" she laughed lightly, silently walking closer to Hunter. When she was right behind him, she said, "Hunter, turn around and face me."
