Matt struggled against the debris but eventually stopped. He could sense his words had gotten into Kasey's head and as long as she didn't trust Liam… his work was done.
Matt struggled against the debris but eventually stopped. He could sense his words had gotten into Kasey's head and as long as she didn't trust Liam… his work was done.
Kinesie glared at Matt when he stopped struggling, wary of what he was doing.
Police officers hurried over to help, each wearing a bulletproof vest and carrying a gun. If he tried anything, they wouldn't hesitate to shoot him. Unlike Kasey.
Matt raised his eyebrow at Kasey once and it looked like he was smiling even though his mouth was covered. He didn't quite care what happened next, as long as she doubted the people she was close to then that was all that mattered.
An officer shot Matt from behind with a taser, and Kinisie dropped the restraints on him. Other officers joined the first and helped to restrain him.
"You're going to jail, Matt. And I didn't even have to kill you," Kasey said with a forced smirk.
Liam who had been watching everything from the news report, sat back on the couch and rubbed at his face. He had seen the look on Kasey's face when Matt mentioned the thing about trust regarding him. Although she'd done her best to hide it, he had noticed. He sighed and turned the TV to something else.
Kasey took a deep breath and watched as the shoved Matt in a cop car. When they had finally driven away, she let out a shuddering breath and left the scene. She just wanted to go home.
About ten minutes later, she walked into her apartment, now wearing her regular clothes again, and gently shut the door behind her. She made her way to her bedroom, collapsed into her bed, and curled into a ball of stress and tears.
Liam turned the TV off and even though he new Kasey would be resting, sent her a text anyway.
LIAM: Hey, I saw what happened. You did good. Rest up, heal and relax. I love you - Liam
Kasey pulled her phone out of her pocket with a grunt. She saw Liam's text and smiled before remembering what Matt had said. With a sigh, she shook her head, clearing it of the thought.
KASEY: Thanks. I'll be okay. Though I don't know what I'll do about my leg…
LIAM: You go to the doctors and say you got into a street fight or something.
Liam sighed a little and walked to his bedroom where Mortem was sleeping happily and he quickly sat down next to his cat before lying back too.
KASEY: Yeah, they'll definitely believe that. Especially if they just saw Kinesie get shot in the exact same place.
Kasey sighed and propped her leg up on a pillow. She should really do something to stop the bleeding, but she just didn't have the energy. And Harper still wasn't back. And she was very lightheaded again.
LIAM: Do you need me to come over and help? I can clean and bandage the wound if you want, or is Harper there to help?
Liam sat up on the bed just in case Kasey needed him to come over.
KASEY: He's not here, no, but I don't want to bother you…
Kasey closed her eyes at a wave of dizziness. She had definitely over done it with her powers…
LIAM: Kasey, I'm literally not doing anything right now. I've finished work and music stuff so I'm free. Do you want the help?
Liam sighed and rubbed his face.
Kasey squinted at the screen and sighed reluctantly.
KASEY: Honestly, you probably should come over…
LIAM: I'll be over with bandages in a min.
Liam shook his head before grabbing the necessary items and heading to Kasey's. He knocked but opened the door anyway.
"You should really lock your door Kasey."
"It really wasn't my first priority when I got home," Kasey called weakly from her bedroom, where she was laying on her bed with her arm over her eyes.
Liam moved through the house and into Kasey's bedroom where he placed his things down, "I know." He said before walking out and running a bowl of warm water and grabbing a small towel he found.
Kasey sighed, trying to stay as still as possible so as to not become more dizzy. The lightheadedness and dizziness were such bad side-effects from using her powers too much. If she could get rid of them, she would. And maybe give herself a cooler power, too.
Liam looked up at Kasey for a moment then back at her leg, starting to clean the wound gently as to not hurt her further. He let out a small sigh as he did so.
Kasey let out a hiss of pain and surprise when Liam started cleaning the wound, and her leg twitched involuntarily.
"I'm sorry." He said gently, but kept cleaning the wound, this time at a slower pace.
"You're fine. Just don't take too long," Kasey managed to choke out, using her free arm to cover her face as well.
Liam nodded and started cleaning the wound more thoroughly. After that was done, he grabbed a bandage and started to wrap her leg.
Kasey groaned as Liam worked on her leg. She tightened her arms around her face, letting out a shaking breath.
"I'm sorry…" Liam muttered again as he tightened the bandage and tied the end off, "I'm so sorry." He stood and picked up the dirty water and removed it from the room.
