The waitress nodded and headed off to go get their drinks. Liam looked up to Kasey and smiled a little with a small shake of his head before back to his menu.
Kasey, having been looking down at her menu, didn’t notice Liam look how at her. She continued to look through the menu, finally deciding what she wanted to eat.
Liam placed his menu down, resting his head in his hand as he just admired Kasey. Damn she was beautiful.
When Kasey decided on what to eat, she glanced up. Seeing Liam’s eyes on her, her cheeks turned crimson.
“What?” she murmured, flustered.
Liam grinned, "Nothin', you're just beautiful is all." He replied, sending her a wink.
“Stop that… You’re making my face get hot,” Kasey muttered, dropping her eyes back to the menu. “Have you decided what you want to eat?”
Liam chuckled, leaning backwards in his chair, "Yep, known for a while I've just been waiting for you."
Kasey blinked. “Oh. All right. What’re you getting?”
"Vegetarian pizza." He replied, "What about you?"
“Can I just get the strawberry cheesecake?” Kasey asked jokingly. She glanced down at the menu just to check what her order was before looking back up at him. “I’ll get the Cesar salad. Maybe with extra dressing.”
He raised a brow, "That's it? Okay, if you're sure precious then we can order when the waitress comes back over in a sec."
“I’m too excited to be hungry tonight,” Kasey admitted with a soft chuckled. She glanced over when she saw the waitress coming back, giving her a polite smile.
"What can I get you two?" She asked, setting down the drinks before pulling out her notepad and pen.
"One vegetarian pizza and one caesar salad, please. And I believe that's it?" Liam looked to Kasey and raised a brow for confirmation.
Kasey nodded once. “Yes, please. And if I could get some extra dressing on the side, that would be great.”
The waitress nodded, making a note for Kasey's request, "Wonderful, I'll be back shortly with your meals."
“Thank you,” Kasey said with a polite smile before turning back to Liam. “And thanks again for bringing me here…”
Liam smiled at her, "No need to thank me. I figured you needed a night out to relax and detox and this place is perfect for that."
“I think I need a lifetime to relax and detox, but I also have other duties…” Kasey sighed, casting a quick glance around. So long as no one interrupted their evening, it would be perfect.
He nodded, smiling understandingly, "I get that. But still, surely there are… ya know… other people who are able to take care of those so called duties. Kyle, for example?"
“Well… Yeah, I mean, of course, but… not always. And sometimes I’m needed, too,” Kasey said with a shrug. “I don’t mind it, usually. Just when it gets in the way of my personal life, or when someone I love gets hurt…”
He sighed softly, reaching across the table for hand, "I'm sorry. Let's just hope this night goes smoothly then, yeah?"
Kasey nodded, her gaze turning back to Liam. She smiled as he took her hand, giving his a gentle squeeze.
“Let’s hope that I’m not needed, and that people can cover anything that might happen,” she murmured.
"Yeah, hopefully."
The waitress came back over then, two plates of food in her hand as she gently placed them down in front of them both, "Here you are, please enjoy."
Kasey thanked the waitress as she picked up her fork. “Did you plan anything else after dinner? Or are we just going to go home?” she asked, looking up at Liam as she took a bite of her salad.
Liam grinned and winked at her, "Let's leave that part to mystery." He picked up a piece of the pizza, taking a few bites.
