(sounds good)
Liam woke a couple hours later, the pain meds having worn off finally and now his body ached all over. He adjusted himself a little on the bed then slowly, shifted himself so he was standing, nearly falling over as he did so.
Kasey had fallen asleep on the couch after reading for about an hour and a half, Quake snuggled up in her arms. The kitten’s ears perked up when she heard Liam beginning to stand, and she wriggled it of the heroine’s grasp. On light paws, she silently ran into the bedroom and began wrapping herself around Liam’s legs.
Liam chuckled softly, carefully ad cautiously bending down to pick to the small kitten up. He brought Quake to his chest and slowly made his way into the living room. He ended up placing the kitten on his shoulder as he grabbed a cup to get a glass of water.
Quake kneaded Liam’s shoulder, her little claws pricking him through his shirt. She bumped her head against his, purring in his ear.
Liam smiled, not caring too much about her claws. He turned his head slightly to nudge his nose into her side, kissing the top of the kitten's head a second later.
Quake licked his face before jumping down. She walked out of the kitchen and into the living room, jumping back into Kasey’s arms.
Liam chuckled and smiled softly at the kitten, shaking his head slightly as he did so. He grabbed a glass of water and the painkillers, downing them quickly.
Kasey stirred when Quake jumped into her arms. She squeezed slightly, then blinked her eyes open. Upon seeing the kitten, she smiled sleepily and kissed her nose.
“Hi, baby,” she murmured, rubbing Quake’s nose.
Liam picked up his phone from where it was lying on the counter top and snapped a photo of the two of them. He smiled down at the picture before quickly setting it as his phone background.
Kasey pushes herself into a sitting position, rubbing her eyes and yawning. She glanced around before spitting Liam and smiling at him.
“You’re awake. How do you feel?” she asked softly.
Liam shrugged a shoulder, "Sore. But I just took some pain killers. Have a nice nap?"
Kasey chuckled softly and nodded. “Yeah, I did. Quake napped with me for a while. How was yours?”
Again, Liam shrugged a shoulder, rubbing the back of his neck, "Yeah, it was aight. Woke uo once or twice but that was it."
Kasey hummed and pushed herself to her feet. She made her way over, Quake still in her arms, and leaned into Liam.
“What do you want to do now?” she asked softly, looking up at him.
Liam wrapped his arms around her, being careful not to crush the kitten, "No idea… I know I can't go out like this… well… I could try…"
“No, we can stay in. I think that would be for the best right now,” Kasey said, smiling up at him a little. She scratched the kitten’s head, causing her to purr happily. “What about a movie?”
Liam nodded, smiling and kissing the top of both Kasey and the kitten’s head, “Sounds like a plan. Though I have to apologise now in case I fall asleep again…”
“That’s fine. You need to rest, anyway,” Kasey said, reaching up to kiss his cheek. “Do you want to go pick a movie while I make popcorn? Or vice versa?”
Liam shrugged, “I can make the popcorn. It doesn’t require me using much of my brain.”
“Okay. I’ll go pick a movie, then,” Kasey said, kissing his cheek one last time before stepping away. “Any preferences?”
Liam shook his head, "Nope, anything you want to watch I'm good with."
“All right. I’m thinking something Marvel, then,” Kasey mused as she made her way over to the living room, setting Quake down.
Liam hummed slightly in acknowledgment, grabbing a packet of popcorn and placing it in the microwave, "Sounds good."
Kasey looked through the movies, finally settling on the first Captain America movie, Captain America: The First Avenger. She put the DVD in the DVD player, then settled into the couch.
Liam came back over to Kasey with a bowl of popcorn in hand, settling down next to her and wrapping and arm around her shoulders.
