Liam giggles softly, grinning like an idiot, “Yay! They probably missed us. We’re bad parents Kasey. Bad parents.”
Liam giggles softly, grinning like an idiot, “Yay! They probably missed us. We’re bad parents Kasey. Bad parents.”
“No, Liam, we’re not. We didn’t have a choice, remember? If we had known we would be gone, we would have called someone to take care of them,” Kasey reminded him softly.
Liam pouted, “Yeah…. you’re right…” He honestly looked like he was about to start crying.
Kasey blinked at the look on his face and frowned a little. “Liam… What’s wrong? Why do you look like you’re going to cry?” she asked softly.
"Because we're bad parents Kasey! we should have at least sent them a letter once we got out and told them we were coming home soon…"
“Babe… They’re cats… They can’t read,” Kasey reminded him softly. “I’m sure they’re fine, love.”
Liam pouted, "You're not a mind reader, you don't know if they can read or not…"
Kasey laughed and raised her eyebrows at him. “Liam… I am a mind reader,” she reminded him softly.
Liam’s eyes widened in realisation, “Really! That’s so cool! So you could read our cats minds!”
“Babe, no,” Kasey laughed softly, shaking her head. “Only people’s minds. Not animals. As far as I know, anyway.”
"Have you tried? You don't know until you try, Kasey. Like brussel sprouts. I didn't like them but then I ate one and found out they were pretty good." Liam shrugged.
Kasey chuckled again and shook her head. “I would normally have been able to hear them with my shields down, but if you want me to try when we get home, then I’ll try.”
Liam grinned and nodded, "Yes! Please try that would be amazing! I love youuuuuuu!"
“Love you, too, babe,” Kasey chuckled, kissing his cheek.
“We’re almost there,” Harper called back, earning a smile from his sister.
Liam smiled at them both before he returned the kiss to Kasey.
“I wonder how long this will last…” Kasey mused, watching Liam with a small smile.
"I feel like I'm floating, maybe I should just start taking this instead of my normal meds…" Liam hummed thoughtfully.
“Um, no. No, I don’t think tats a very good idea, babe,” Kasey chuckled softly. “Let’s stick to what you normally take.”
Liam pouted and sighed, "Fiiiiiine, but that's no fun…"
Kasey clicked her tongue and leaned over to kiss his cheek. “I’m sure you’ll think differently once this wears off,” she murmured as they pulled into the parking lot.
Liam tolled his eyes playfully, waving a hand on her direction, “Maybe, but maybe not.”
Harper put the car in park and turned around to face the couple. “You guys ready?”
“Of course. C’mon, love,” Kasey said, slipping out her door and making her way around to Liam again.
Liam unbuckled himself, opening the car door but this time he waited for Kasey’s go ahead before he left the car. Clearly some of the drugs were wearing off and he was regaining some of his senses.
Kasey made it to Liam’s door and reached her hand up for him. “You’ll have to lean on me. We didn’t bring the wheelchair with.”
Liam nodded, taking Kasey's hand, "Gotcha babe, no worries." He gave her a lopsided smile before carefully getting out the car, soon resting some of his weight on the hero.
