Blaine’s gaze shot to the young woman, then up to Andion. “Let’s go check it out,” she murmured, nodding toward the scene.
The woman was still shouting as they got closer, the guards still holding her, "I've heard the stories! You can't trick me, I know exactly what's going on in that castle and I'll prove it to everyone!"
“That sounds like a good story,” Blaine murmured to Andion under her breath. Whatever that woman was talking about… they had to find out. As soon as possible.
"Yeah, it does." Andion replied, tracking the guards.
The woman was thrown onto the street, a small metal key following which she grabbed, intent on unlocking the handcuffs that were around her wrists.
A tall, dark skinned man stood a few steps away from her, hand on the sword at his side, "If I ever catch up back in the castle grounds, I won't hesitate to kill you on the spot, understand?"
"You wanna bet Captain?" The woman sneered, a twisted smile crossing her face as the Captain walked back into the castle grounds.
“C’mon, we should go talk to her,” Blaine murmured, quickening her steps slightly. “Before she leaves.”
Andion nodded, though he kept his eyes trained on the castle guards and the Captain, "Let's go then."
The woman was still there by the time the two turned up, fiddling with the handcuffs and the key with a scowl on her face. She had long, brown hair that fell to her waist, a few frown lines on her face. She had light brown skin and golden eyes, through they were trained on the metal at her wrists.
“Would you like a hand with that?” Blaine asked as they reached the woman, making sure to keep her gaze at least neutral, if not softer than normal.
The woman looked like she was about to retort and tell them to go away, but after a moment, just studying Blaine, she nodded, "Yes, thank you." She offered Blaine the key.
Blaine nodded and took the key from her. She took the woman’s hands, careful not to hurt her, and found the lock. In a moment, the cuffs were unlocked and her hands were free.
“There you are,” she murmured.
The woman rubbed at her skin, trying to sooth the red marks that were there, "Thanks again, love. What's your name?"
“Annabelle,” Blaine lied, reaching a hand out to shake the woman’s. “What happened, if I may ask?”
“Kyra,” She replied, shaking Blaine’s hand before running it through her hair, “I…” She looked around before turning back to the two of them, “Best not talk about it here, if you’re really interested.”
Blaine glanced back at Andion before nodding once at Kyra. “Is there somewhere we can go?”
Kyra nodded, "'Course there is," She inclined her head for them to follow as she started to walk away, "This way."
Blaine followed behind Kyra, still having a hold on Andion. She let the other woman lead, wondering where she would take them.
Kyra led them to towards the outskirts of the city, where it was quiet and mostly empty. There were a few people out, dancing and singing and generally having a good time but mostly it was quiet.
Blaine made sure to notice which streets they went down as they walked. It wouldn’t be good for them if they’d come all this way only to get lost in the streets.
Eventually, Kyra walked towards a small, slightly run down building. It looked like it had a few years of ware, but there was still somehow a homely feel to the place. She opened the door, leaving it open for the two of them.
Blaine nodded once toward the woman on thanks. She stepped inside and glanced around, making note of what she deemed important.
The was a small living room to the left, a couple couches and a coffee table. To the right was a small kitchen and down the corridor there were a few bedrooms and a bathroom.
“Is this your place?” Blaine asked as they stepped into the house.
"Yes, it is. My son is out right now so we don't have to worry about anyone listening in." She replied, shutting the door and gesturing to the seats in the living room.
Blaine nodded once in acknowledgement to the statement. She gently tugged Andion’s hand as she walked over to the couch and sat down.
“How old is your son?”
"Fourteen." She replied, taking a seat in front of the two of them, "So he'd rather be out with his friends then here."
Blaine hummed. “I can understand that.” Even if I never actually got to experience it.
