Blaine hummed, nodding her agreement. Something from a stall caught her eye, and she glanced over to see a table full of jewelry and trinkets. She shook her head, knowing it wasn’t the time to be getting distracted by shiny things. They had things to do.
Andion noticed, a smirk tugging at his lips, "Ya know, if you want to look at some things you can. I'm sure we can spare a little time."
Blaine looked over at Andion, noticing the smirk on his lips. She stuck her tongue out at him.
“I can look later. It’s not that important right now.”
Andion shrugged a shoulder, "Aight then, if you're sure…" He trailed off, looking over at some of the other stalls around.
“When we get clothes we can look,” Blaine said, glancing around again. This time, it was more than just taking in her new sights. She had to make sure there was nothing suspicious around them. For now, everything was okay.
Andion chuckled but nodded, "Okay then." The city was clearly preparing for the ball in a few days, stalls selling an array of different masks and costumes and dresses and suits and accessories. People flitted around putting up lanterns and decorations outside their houses and stores. On the main street and on side streets, too.
“Everyone seems very excited for the ball,” Blaine mused as they continued their way down the road.
"I mean it's a big event around here, apparently," Andion replied, "Commoners and noble folk all attend, it can get pretty packed in the castle."
Blaine hummed, nodding slowly as she took in his words. If it was packed in the castle, then they needed to try to get an audience as soon as possible. Otherwise, they probably wouldn’t be able to get one until after the events.
It took longer then it probably normally would to get to Andion's friends. Mainly because of how packed the streets were and how many times the two assassin's were called over or stopped by a man or a woman trying to sell them something. But eventually, they made it to the street the tavern was located on.
“Ready?” Blaine murmured, glancing up at Andion. They needed to do this right the first time, there would be no second chances.
Andion smirked, "It's Jamil, I'm never ready for that bastard." He said, heading straight for the end of the street.
Blaine chuckled softly, giving his hand a light squeeze. “Then I guess we’re as ready as we’ll ever be.”
Andion squeezed her hand back, "Yeah." He walked up a couple steps to the tavern's side door, knocking on the wood. It didn't take long before a man with black hair to his shoulders and a small beard and mustache opened the door, grinning at the sight of the two of them.
"Andion! And… friend! Come in come in!" He beckoned, holding the door open for them both.
Blaine gave the man a wary smile and stepped inside. “My name is Blaine. I’m Andion’s girlfriend,” she introduced herself.
Jamil's eyes widened, "Really? Never thought he'd be able to get a woman as pretty as you." Andion muttered some insult under his breath as his friend led them to the second floor of the tavern. It was fairly nice, well decorated and roomy, "Place your bags anywhere you like, I don't really care."
Blaine raised an eyebrow at the man’s remark. She shook her head subtly, then placed her bag down by the doorway.
“We have some business to attend to, don’t we Andion?” she murmured as she turned to him.
Andion cleared his throat and nodded, "Uh yes, right, well, we'll see you later mate, we've got some stuff to attend too."
Jamil raised an eyebrow, taking a bite of an apple he'd picked up out of nowhere, "Right, don't have too much fun then," He chuckled, "I'll leave the door open for you both so you can get in if you're back later."
“Too much fun… Mmhm, all right,” Blaine muttered under her breath after the man left. “I don't think we have time for that. Not right now, anyway.”
Andon sighed, "No, we don't," He mumbled, leading her back the way we came, "Sorry, he's… well, he's not usually sober so sorry about that."
Blaine hummed and slowly nodded. “That makes a bit more sense now. Although, I wouldn’t mind getting to have ‘too much fun’ if we had the time,” she mused half-jokingly as she smiled up at him.
Andion chuckled, shaking his head ever so slightly, "I doubt we'll have time. Besides, Jamil might hear us since the apartment is quite small."
“Darn,” Blaine laughed softly. “Wouldn’t want to bother the host, I guess. Where’s our next stop, again?”
"Well we need to find outfits," Andion explained, "There's a shop on the main road we cans top at, I'm sure they'd do dresses, suits and masks for the party."
