Oh the old festivals were always beautiful, so full of life. Serafine could still remember all of the bright smiles, and the life sparkling in the eyes of everyone she met. A sparkle she was never going to see again.
She smiled a little sadly, patting Daus' hand. "Don't listen to petite Delphi, I would love for you to dance with me. I'm sure you'll be fine, I remember being a nervous dancer once." What was it with that girl and having to say things that will put people down in some way? The older woman couldn't help but feel like somewhat of a failure when it came to the raising of Delphi because she was so vastly different to the rest of the family.
No one had ever said it, but Serafine knew that Grandme was disappointed in her. However Delphi was just one of those people whom Serafine found it extremely difficult to reckon with.
Serafine listened to the chattering among her two younger siblings, while also humming slightly to the nearing music. Ah, just like she remembered. Sure, the tunes had changed a little, but the nostalgic feeling was there. As the three of them entered the outskirts of the festival, the music grew louder, until each note was an entire vibration inside her mind. It knocked her back a little, and she had to pause her movements just while her senses sorted themselves out. Everything was going into hyper-drive, though it was entirely expected.
"Tell me, Daus," Serafine spoke to him, her voice slightly cloaked by the noise. "Is everything as beautiful as I remember it to be?"
Daus’ eyes lit up at Serafine’s question, his grey eyes searching the festivities in some hope of describing it perfectly for the older woman. He rummaged through the crowd, attempting to somehow get past the masked dancers that pressed up much too close for his liking.
“Loud,” he admitted with a soft chuckle, guiding Serafine through the crowds gently as Delphi wove through people carelessly, most likely attempting to get closer to where the ‘Zoe boy’s’ supposedly were. “But, beautiful. Old Baz is still making the same Shrimp Gumbo every year, the decorations are the prettiest auburn’s, I just wish you could see. Hm, there are new dancers in lilac silks this time…oh! And there’s a whole stand for jewelry!” A wide smile lit up Daus’ soft featured as he glanced down towards Serafine. They would have to go there later on in the night.
Just as Daus went to open his mouth again, he was immediately cut off by another body running into his forcefully. He lost his hand on Serafine, but managed to regain his balance by latching onto the unknown person’s shoulders. Very…strong shoulders?
“Oh, Dieu, I didn’t see you there,” Daus started with an apologetic laugh, brushing a hand through his curls as he tried to fix what had been moved during the collision. “Are you— I—“ He cut himself off as he looked up, suddenly realizing who he was talking to. Surely that wasn’t a LeTour. Maybe his abilities were playing tricks on him?
“Daus?” Serafine’s voice suddenly became a lot more frightened than what anyone had heard before. She was at a festival, she couldn’t feel her brother’s hand on her arm, and there were people in every direction. Keep it together, he’s close by.
She took a deep breathe, and though the spices and wild flavours of the festival were attacking her nose, she could still sense Daus close to her. And something else… Something unfriendly.
Gingerly, she reached out and placed her hand on his arm, almost moving him backwards a little bit as if to protect him. “This area reeks of death. I think the LeTours are here.”
She needed to get away from them. As old memories flooded back, the adrenaline began to boil her blood. What scared her most was the fact she couldn’t see them. They could have been circling around her, and she wouldn’t have known how many bodies there were.
Emilio smilled sheepishly. "I'm so sorry, again, I was just looking for some drinks for me and my sibling-" He was cut off by the woman, his smile turning to an almost hurt frown. "I don't think I've personally done anything to you, so if you could keep your burning hate away from me, that would be great." Emilio muttered to the lady, turning back to the person he had run into. "I'm Emilio LeTour, it's nice to meet you. Anything I can do to make up for running into you? I promise I'm not usually that clumsy."
Lou continued to browse stalls, until her eyes settled on a stall selling jewelry. She found a pair of golden stud earrings, representing skulls.
"Emi'll like these," she muttered to herself. They weren't that expensive, so she purchased them as a gift, wrapping them in a loose sheet of paper she dug out of her bag.
Lou ran through the crowd, trying to make sense of where she was and where her brother had gone. Looking through the throngs of people around her, she saw the tall, lean form that belonged to Emilio. She sprinted towards him, waving the package above her head.
"Emi! Emi! I got you a present!"
Emilio turned his head, eyes brightening when he saw his sister. "Eh, Lou Lou! I haven't been able to find the drinks yet, I ran into this lovely fellow." He explained, wrapping his sister into a one armed hug when she got close enough. "What'ya get me?" Emilio asked, trying to grab at the wrapped package with a goofy smile.
"Earrings," Lou replied, handing her brother the package. "Also, d'ya like my scarf?" she asked, gesturing to her head and taking a bite of chocolate. "You'd better quit flirtin' and get those drinks, Emi." Lou said, her eyes narrowing, before she threw her head back, laughing.
(Holy mother of god this RP moves fast-)
(If you'd like, Mosis, you could interact with my character.)
(This isn't that fast Mosis.)
Delphi, sensing the commotion behind her spun around, eyes lining up between her two siblings and what seemed to be a LeTour member. Her eyes narrowed as she moved closer, wanting to step between Daus and the other families. Yes, she could be a distant sibling, but the moment she sensed something wrong with her family, she had always been quick to intervene.
Daus tried to choke something out between Seraphine’s pained comments, and the LeTour siblings who seemed to be unable to stop talking, before Delphi cut him off abruptly.
“Delphi. Ardoine,” She began stiffly, forcing a sweet smile upon her freckled face. Sometimes, she really wished she had Daus’ charming abilities and soft smiles, the ability to stand there innocently and make the whole world fall in love with him. Instead, she had the lovely job of actually attempting to seem like able. Which failed miserably half the time, so she liked to rely on her looks.
“And! We were just leaving actually. Drinks. Far away.” Delphi added, resisting the urge to shake the man’s hand, who had identified himself as Emilio. Usually, she would, touching people could actually help her see a small flash of their future…but tonight was too busy. And the siblings reeked of death.
(Its fast for me.Im barely on due to homework and other things-And thanks.)
Emilio gave a delighted gasp, opening up the package and smiling wider than he was already. "These are beautiful, ma soeur incroyable!" He cooed, slipping the earrings into a pocket on the inside of his cloak, the one that held his dagger. "And I'm not flirting!" Emilio defended himself before pausing for a moment. "Okay, maybe I am. But in my deffense, I did run into him."
Emilio looked to the other woman. "We're getting drinks too, would you like to come with us?"
Delphi frowned and glanced toward's Seraphine and Daus this time, giving them the chance to answer the man. Yes, she enjoyed the company of other people almost all the time, but tonight she had been planning on meeting the Zoe boys, who had described that they had some crucial information outside the Southern Bayou. New rites were important to learn, especially as a Seer family before the rest of Orlean's found out.
"I–" Daus began, stammering between each new phrase Emilio said as his hands fiddled, first with the silver scarf around his neck, the golden bangles on his wrist, then his ashy locks. Was the other man really flirting with him? No, he's a LeTour. Stop thinking that. "I, um, you could come if you'd like? Peut être?" He questioned, glancing towards Seraphine. He detested being put on the spot like that, and would much rather have either Delphi or his eldest sister make the decision.
Fio finally located his siblings, and came over quickly. "Emilio! Lou!" his eyes found the Seer siblings, and he winced. "Seriously? Your first festival and you did the one thing I told you two not to do?" he groaned, shaking his head a little bit as he put hands on his siblings shoulders, frowning. "First you run off, now you're bothering the Seers? Gods, you two are disasters." he looked to the Seers. "My apologies for my siblings; this is their first festival and they're excited."
(I decided to write an interaction for you, Mosis. :) Do forgive the quality. )
As Percival strolled around the festival, he slightly hoped not to see anyone he knew. Though, of course, his hopes would be shattered within mere seconds of the thought's fabrication. His eyes found Narthelliot and Garcia, two of his cousins. With great disappointment, Percival rolled his eyes and walked over to them.
"Garcia. Narthelliot," he addressed the two, his voice flat and unenthusiastic, "it's just a pleasure to see you two here. However, if I may inquire, where is Sabastion? Did he choose not to take part in tonight's festivities?" His brow furrowed slightly as he finished his sentence. It was true that though as much as he did not favour his the presence of his cousins, he at the very least wished to make sure they weren't dead. Well, not without his knowledge, of course. Not knowing such a thing would look bad on him.
"Obvoiusly we're disasters, I'm offended you would even think we're not." Emilio gasped, mock offended. "Plus, I get free drinks from those Zoe boys and that means I can give one of said free drinks to a cute guy." He shrugged, his face pretty much saying 'That's the way it is buckeroo.'
"Plus my darling brother, Lou got a new scarf, isn't it wonderfull? And she got me earrings. Remind me to pick some stuff up for the folks six feet under on our way back." Does this man ever stop talking?
(I'm not gonna be super active today, I have an eye appointment. Please don't leave me behind y'all)
(Also I was thinking that Fio maybe has a condition where he just freezes up and can't move for certain periods of time, which would be an in-RP explanation of why he was unable to respond to his siblings earlier. Maybe he's been hiding it from them so they don't worry?)
Fio looked at his younger brother, shaking his head. "Emilio. You know you're supposed to leave the other Families alone." he bit his lip a little bit, trying to figure out what to do about this. "We should get going. I understand that there's a cute boy, but there are plenty of cute boys. Trust me on this one. Don't flirt with a Seer boy; that's just asking for trouble."
(Sorry I'm taking so long…I got a ton of Homework to do. Hopefully my response will be in in 10 minutes or so.)
(No rush. Take your time and do well on your homework.)
(Almost done)
(Done! Now give me a few minutes to get my response in.)
