Meg sighs and shakes her head. “You don't have to hide it.” she reminds him.
Meg sighs and shakes her head. “You don't have to hide it.” she reminds him.
He shudders slightly, gripping the handkerchief. Suddenly, tears started to fill his eyes.
“Aaron?” she asks, facing him in concern when she sees the tears. “What's wrong?”
He bites his lip, shaking his head. “It’s…” he shudders.
“You can tell me.” she insists gently, placing her hand on his.
He shudders, then shows her the handkerchief. It was completely covered in blood and some kind of black substance. He starts sobbing, covering his eyes.
Meg raises a brow at the unknown dark substance, having expected the blood… Though maybe not as much as she was seeing. “What is this?” she asks, keeping her voice gentle.
He shakes his head. “I dont know…” he whines. “No one does…”
Meg sighs and nods, accepting the answer. “But it could be what's making you sick…” she hums thoughtfully. “I’m sorry. You don't have to explain.”
He keeps sobbing, hiding his face.
“It's alright.” she assures, gently reaching for him to maybe even hug him if he wanted or would let her.
He hugs her, his back heaving. “i…I’m so scared…”
“It's ok to be scared.” she comforts, holding him close but gently.
He keeps sobbing, holding into her. His weakened and thin figure made him feel like he could break at any moment just by a tight hug.
Meg continues to hold him, gently massaging his back to help calm him without forcing him to stop crying.
He coughs and wheezes, hiding his face in her shoulder. It took him a while, but he was able to calm down just enough to catch his breath. He sniffles, “I’m…so sorry…”
“You don't have to apologize.” she says softly.
He shudders, going silent.
“It's alright.” she assures again, tightening the hug slightly.
He leans into her, closing his eyes.
“It's alright.” she repeats softly.
He starts to relax, dozing off in her arms. Every now and then, he’d jump from his sleep.
Meg sighs and gently lays him back down on his bed. “I’m still here.” she whispers.
He looks at her, a sleepy look in his eyes. He honestly looked pitiful. His eyes seemed even more sunken then before and he only seemed to be growing more and more pale.
She smiles softly and runs her fingers through his hair.
