Meg waits quietly, almost holding her breath, as Aaron’s cough calms back down. “I wish there was something I could do to help you.” she sighs when she catches sight of the blood.
Meg waits quietly, almost holding her breath, as Aaron’s cough calms back down. “I wish there was something I could do to help you.” she sighs when she catches sight of the blood.
Aaron quickly hides the handkerchief, silent.
“It's alright.” Meg assures, not wanting her friend to feel like he has to hide anything.
He takes a deep breath, closing his eyes. “Im sorry…”
“Don't be.” she says gently as she shakes her head. “It's not your fault.”
He sighs, avoiding her gaze.
Meg gently rubs his arm, giving him a soft sincere smile. “It's alright.”
Aaron coughs, then clears his throat.
Brisha frowns slightly. “I’ll inform your parents…I’ll be right back…” he walks away.
Aaron stays quiet.
Meg sighs and sits up a little more. “Should I leave?”
Aaron sighs, “Only if you want…” he looks at her and smiles. “Its all up to you.” It looked as though he was only getting more and more pale and sickly looking by the minute.
Meg shakes her head. “I don't really want to leave you yet but I don't want to be in the way.”
He shakes his head. “Youre not in the way…dont worry…”
She smiles softly and gives a slight nod, blinking back the familiarity of this situation. “I’ll stay. I’d like to stay.”
He smiles and nods. “Okay…” he coughs, wheezing slightly.
Meg stays beside him and takes his hand, not knowing what else to say or do.
He sighs and closes his eyes. “I…apologize if I…doze off…”
“It's alright. I can stay with you until you fall asleep or until your parents arrive.” she assures him.
He hums, then almost immediately dozes off. His head rolls to the side slightly. while he slept, it sounded like he was still having trouble breathing.
After a few moments, his parents rush in and go quiet. The queen smiles. “Hello dear…”
Meg stayed by his side as he slept, not wanting to disturb him or leave him alone.
“Your Majesty.” she nods politely, hoping that the Queen wouldn't mind her not rising to curtsy at the moment.
The queen smiles warmly, then looks at Aaron. She sighs. “My poor baby…” she whispered.
“May I ask how long it these… moments last?” she wondered, unsure of what else to call his bouts of sickness.
The queen frowns. “They are just…random…the longest hes gone is a month…”
Meg sighs. “I’m sorry, your Majesty, that you and your family go through this. I wish there was some way I could help.”
The queen nods. “Thank you, dear…you have no idea how much help you give us just by making our son happy…”
The king sighs and walks out, a sad look in his eyes.
Meg smiles softly back and nods. “Thank you, your Majesty. I’m glad to be his friend.”
