“So are you gonna answer or. . .” She teased.
“So are you gonna answer or. . .” She teased.
"You wouldn't understand…" He mumbles very quietly
Aaaaand here we go again. Piper really thought they had moved past that, and made it clear that the two were good friends again and they could trust eachother. But, since she was clearly wrong, she decided to take another approach.
“Okay then, well I’ll see you later then,” she replied, and walked off.
Tanner was crying a little. "S-sorry…"
She clutched the straps of her backpack as she walked, careful to hide her shaking shoulders from Tanner.
Tanner falls to the ground.
Piper turned, since she was startled by the thud. She saw tanner on the floor a few yards behind her and rushed to help.
Hey laid there tired and crying.
She didn't say a word for a while, she just plopped herself down next to him and waited in silence.
He looks at her. "I'm an idiot…I can't even get my feelings in check…"
"You're not an idiot," she put her hand on his shoulder and smiled from behind her hair, "you're just a bit dramatic."
"I'm more than a bit…" He laughs and sits up wiping his face. "I've always made everything a big deal…" He sighs softly.
"No, actually you haven't" she replied. This may not have been the best time to bring this up, but she had already taken the plunge. "You weren't like this before I left."
"I haven't changed much…My personality is still the same. I've just become…Distant. I want us to be like how we used to be, but I doubt That will happen. Not with my feelings."
"Well, couldn't we at least . . .try?"
If she was being honest with herself, she wanted them to be like they used to be so badly. She wanted it more than she wanted anything else in the world.
"Maybe…I guess we could try…" He looks at her.
"Good, because I missed you. And I want you to know, it's probably best that we stay friends, because then there's less of a risk that everything won't work out."
"I know…And we can." He wipes his eyes. "Plus…I'm sure Xander doesn't like me…"
“What does that have to do with anything?” Piper asked, confused.
"I would be around you and he stares at me like I've committed a sin."
“Have you asked him why? I mean, if it bothers you then it might be good to say something about it.”
"I…I think Nancy is enough for now…" He nervously laughs.
"Well then ignore him. To be honest though, he probably just thinks that it's weird that you never speak up for yourself. He's never acted like that before, he's always seemed nice."
"Yeah…But I think…Personally, I should have stayed put instead of coming here." He sighs. "I don't belong."
"Neither of us do. But to be honest, it doesn't really matter," she sighed. "Everyone here is from somewhere else, whether it be 45 minutes or halfway around the world. But the point of this school is to learn dance, not belong."
