Tanner sighs. "Still. I finally stood up for myself." He was happy and wanted to let her know.
Tanner sighs. "Still. I finally stood up for myself." He was happy and wanted to let her know.
“Yep, and I’m proud of you,” she responded, and ruffled his hair.
He smiles like a dork. "Yay!" He hums and hugs her. "I did what you told me to do."
“Yeah. How do you feel now that she’s off your back?” Piper asked and stood up.
"I doubt that's the case but still. It felt good."
“Well, like I said, I’m proud of you,” she said, and hugged him again. “Want to walk with me?”
He nods. "Mhm!" He was so cheerful this morning. "How is Cassie doing? I haven't seen her around today."
"I-uh, I don't know, I think she's still back at the room," Piper answered. She was still angry with Cassie, but she didn't want Tanner to have to worry about that.
He nods slightly.
After a while, you could hear Nancy scream.
"That was a slow reaction…"
"You know what, it sounded like Nancy. She's always so dramatic, so id rather keep moving. Besides, if we don't we'll be late for class."
"Let's get to class…" He said laughing a little bit.
The walked in silence for a bit until the entrance to the school grounds came into view. Then they walked into their first period class together.
Tanner sits in his seat quietly.
Piper did the same, and stayed silent until class started. She was just tired, that was all. And maybe a bit confused. But it was nice to not be filled with anger or sadness at the moment, so she decided to do her best to enjoy it while it lasted.
Tanner hums to himself quietly. He was proud of himself. He had a huge grin on his face and laughed quietly. He didn't expect that.
Piper looked over at him with wide eyes. Was that you? she mouthed. She hadn't heard him laugh in a while.
He tilts his head. What do you mean? He was genuinely confused at the moment.
Piper just shook her head as to say "nevermind," and put her head back down. A few minutes later, the teacher walked in and class started. Cassie still hadn't arrived yet.
He shrugs and looks at the board listening to the teacher.
Piper was barely paying attention. Not because she had a lot on her mind, but because she didn't. She wanted to be able to think about what she wanted without these huge intrusive thoughts about Tanner or conjugating verbs getting in the way.
Tanner looks over at her and sighs. He writes down extra notes for her so she had them later. He was also confused as to why Cassie hasn't shown up.
Right as Piper was going to slip into sleep, the bell rang. Everybody made a beeline for the door.
Tanner hand her a page. "Here."
"Thanks, you're a lifesaver," she mumbled. She headed off to her next class.
He waves bye and laughs. "Weirdo."
