(dies kid let go of him)

Tseth takes a deep breath, and pries Salmook off of him. It wasn’t too difficult—kids aren’t that strong. He faces Salmook and crouches down to his height again. “I’m going to leave you with Daphne for a second. It’ll be fine, no one’s going to hurt you. You can even hide in your room if you want. Eat the food the staff gave you. You said you were hungry, yeah?”
With that he stands up, quickly moving to the storage room. He grabs several knives of various sizes from it. He debates taking any of the tranquilizers, and resolves to grab two of them. He’s in and out before any of the staff enter, all the weapons hidden on his person.
Salmook squeals a little as Tseth-friend pries him away.
"No!"
Tseth-friend is gone before he can protest. Salmook's alternative is to hide behind Daphne instead.
"Mook… Salmook no like room. No like! Make me stomach wiggly - bleh."
Daphne looks at Tseth and gestures frantically, but he’s already walked away. Well, great. She looks down at Salmook. “Uh- hi?”
(How is my response shorter but it took longer to write,)
(Whatever it works)
(wheezing)
(Daphne rn: “no wait please don’t leave me with the child I don’t know what to do damn it he’s already gone uh”)
Salmook huffs in acknowledgment, but he doesn't take his eyes off of Tseth-friend and the danger-lady.
"Tseth-friend… why Tseth-friend do that?"
(because he needs weapons)
(wheeze)
Tseth walks back to Daphne and Salmook fairly quickly. “See, I’m back. Nothing to worry about.”
Salmook shakes his head at Tseth-friend. He steps back, keeping the now very much armed Tseth-friend at a distance.
"Scare me. You! Why need the killstuff?"
(Shiny)
Tseth sighs. He lowers his voice just in case anyone else might be listening. “I plan on getting out of here, and I’d rather be armed going against staff members than not. I promise I won’t hurt you, okay?” He shows his hands to Salmook. No weapons in them.
Salmook isn't all too convinced by that. He grumbles.
"Promise? Promise no hurt Salmook?"
Another step back. His bear-cloak puffs again.
"You sure?"
Daphne glances around awkwardly, not entirely sure what to say at the moment. She shifts her focus to trying to fix her hair, which has been a wreck since she got here.
Tseth nods at Salmook. “I’m sure, kid. I promise.” Really, right now he looks the least-threatening he’s been since he got here. But now he’s armed, so it doesn’t say much.
Salmook hums in thought. He wants to have someone to trust here, but his instincts tell him otherwise. Where has trust gotten him before? Nowhere good, that's for certain. But Tseth-friend is different - at least Salmook thinks so. He's definitely not village-folk, so that's a good start, at least.
Salmook shivers a little, coming out from behind Daph-friend.
"Ok… Salmook think good. Not scary? Friend?"
Daphne’s attempt to fix her hair somehow made it look worse than before. She drops her hands back to her side, visibly annoyed. She looks back down at Salmook. I honestly don’t blame Salmook- Tseth’s pretty scary, especially to a little kid like him, probably.
(blep)
Tseth smiles at Salmook when he stops hiding behind Daphne. “Friend. Yeah. Now should we check out what’s in our rooms?”
"Want food, no want boring-bore room. What do in there? Me already rip things up!"
Salmook might just hate his room more than he hates the jabby-people. It's a tough call, really, and though he's hungry, he'd rather not just sit around and wait for something to happen. Maybe if he was strong enough to throw the table it'd be more fun? Yeah, right.
Salmook's hands drop to his hips. He takes a moment to consider something - a spur-of-the-moment idea that itches.
He lowers his voice to almost a whisper, which is the most quiet Salmook's been since he got here.
"Salmook go Tseth-friend room."
He's not really asking, more telling Tseth-friend what he's planning.
