Lucas flinches and drops his pen, looking at Salmook. “Oh- uh- the food’s back in your rooms. Uh- I guess Sylvia forgot to mention that…”
Lucas flinches and drops his pen, looking at Salmook. “Oh- uh- the food’s back in your rooms. Uh- I guess Sylvia forgot to mention that…”
(is it a lie.)
(No,)
(I’m not gonna starve these friends to death 💀)
Tseth rolls his eyes at Daphne. “Emo was when I was a teenager. And if the jacket is so tacky, you don’t have to keep wearing it.”
(On a scale from school cafeteria to Gordon Ramsey, how good is it? I just wanna be accurate- Sal's probably gonna eat it regardless.)
(Up to interpretation mostly but it’s decent)
(Definitely not school cafeteria level because ew,)
Daphne looks at Tseth and slaps him with the jacket sleeve again. “No, I’m keeping it, thank you.” He’ll just take it back at some point anyway-
Salmook takes another step back. Is… that why the jabby-lady wanted him to leave? Just to put food in his room? She could've just given it to him then and there! He didn't like how secretive the jabby-people were about pretty much everything.
He turns to head back to his room. The promise of food is too good to pass up, and if not..? Well, there'd be one less jabby-person in the morning.
Salmook isn't fully sure which room is his. The doors all look as bland as each other. He stands there sniveling for a while.
Tseth chuckles at Daphne. “Very well. I don’t need it.” He tilts his head as Salmook leaves for the hallway. Must have been something he and Lucas were talking about.
Lucas follows Salmook into the hallway. “You need help finding your room?”
Salmook hisses at the jabby-boy. So he's a coward and a creep? Salmook's fists clench, and he points a finger straight into the jabby-boy's chest.
"Me'll eat your face off, jabby. No talk me."
Lucas flinches and takes a step away from Salmook. “Sorry- I was just trying to help… ”
Salmook huffs at the jabby-boy. At the very least the kid listened to him - that was a rarity.
"Talk me again, and Salmook poke your eyes out. Go way. Hungry."
Salmook walks up to a door. It looks like his, but they all do, don't they? It takes a moment to crack it open and… yikes. This room might actually look worse than his. Salmook closes the door with shaky hands - he's not used to doors you don't just push open.
(Hmm could that possibly be blaze’s room)
(mayhaps-)
Lucas nods and walks back into the main room. He looks at Tseth, Daphne, and Blaze. “Uh- you guys can do whatever, I guess. Explore and stuff. Or go back in your rooms for a bit if you want food… yeah.” He stands there awkwardly for a bit, then walks out again.
(Pff)
A little bit after Sylvia walks off, Blaze turns her gaze towards Lucas.
"Lucas."
She says his name calmly but forcefully.
"Something doesn't add up here. Do you want to know why?" she asks, purposefully walking up to the man and continuing to stare him down.
She doesn't bother to wait for a reply.
"I think Sylvia is hiding several important bits of information. And I'm not even talking about the last event. I'm talking about the consequences of failure if we do poorly in these contests," she murmurs, her eyes half-lidded, her long eyelashes fluttering slightly. "I think you know what I mean. It isn't likely that we'll die. You want us alive until the end. But that won't stop anyone from having serious. . . 'accidents.'"
She speaks softer now.
"The truth of it all is we won't make it out in one piece, or even at all. What I want to know is. . ."
She leans in so her lips brush Lucas' ear as she whispers her next words.
"How far are you willing to stay in these people's control? Will it be until the first trial is done? Or will you be putting the barrel to our heads once all is said and done?"
(Well ok then)
Lucas looks extremely tense as Blaze speaks to him. “I… I’m not sure what you mean, ma’am.” His response doesn’t sound very genuine. He then silently pushes Blaze away, quickly walking out of the room.
Daphne watches Blaze speak to Lucas, blinking a few times. That looks a little unnerving-
(Null how do you write so good)
Tseth also watches, mostly unfazed. Blaze had a lot of good insights, and she wasn’t afraid to speak them. He definitely respected her.
Lucas said there was food in the rooms, so that’s an option. Not that there was anything else to do. He turns to Daphne. “Lucas said there was food in the rooms, want to see if it isn’t complete shit?” He gestures to the hallway. He was also using it as a subject change from well, mostly everything that just happened.
Daphne looks up at Tseth. “Uh- sure, why not-“ Not that I’m gonna eat anything, anyway.
