Karen narrows her eyes at Salmook. “Alright, fine. I promise. Now come on.” She starts walking to the main room, her fists clenched.
Daphne glances at Tseth for a moment and relaxes slightly, then continues watching Blaze. She doesn’t say anything.
Salmook glares back at the jabby-lady. He doesn't like her tone of voice, or how angry she is, or her at all. The idea of jumping her is tempting, but what if the other jabby-people help? If he was stronger, he could throw something at the back of her big head.
He trails behind her, dragging his feet and stomping.
"Keep promise if you like keep see things."
(I'm just gonna…)
Salmook steps into the main room, scowling at everyone in it - especially the danger-lady. He doesn't take a chair, instead sitting in a corner with his hood up and his cloak puffed.
Salmook already hates it here.
(Half of us weren’t even awake yet,,,,, sorry ig-)
(sshh im just chronically impatient)
(I mean same but like- just poke it)
(at least they're all in the same room now sorry)
Sylvia sighs and looks around at everyone. “Alright…. Well, now that we’ve got everyone, I’ll start explaining the competitions. There will be three competitions in the span of these next couple of weeks, and the first one will start next week. The first competition will be the shortest, the next one will take a day or two, and the last one will take the longest. There will be a week in between each competition. As I explained yesterday, you’ll be competing against each other, so teaming up with your friends will not be tolerated. Any more questions?”
Lucas looks a little nervous, and maybe even concerned. He stands in a corner and fidgets with a pen in his hands, clicking it a lot. (A normal ink pen,)
Blaze nods thoughtfully, placing a hand on her chin thoughtfully.
"From how you describe your competitions, I'm assuming that just as you sent us the letter via magic or technology indistinguishable as such, our final competition will take longest because of the nature of what you want to do with your abilities. In contrast, our first competition will be some sort of physically straining activity that will leave us as battered as possible without killing us," she says, her hand dropping into a languid point towards Sylvia.
Her unnervingly pale eyes are focused and determined.
"Yours and his role-" she jerks her head towards Lucas. "-is to keep us from doing anything stupid, yes. But you will also be in full control of whatever happens. Won't you? You, Sylvia, are the main challenge we need to beat in all of this."
(Whenever she isn't in a rage, she's quite intelligent-)
(Somebody say something so I don't feel awkward-)
(Blaze no you’re not supposed to have that many braincells /j)
Tseth waits for Blaze to finish before he speaks up. “Stemming from what she just said, what are the competitions you’ll be putting us through, exactly? I doubt it’s anything casual, considering what’s already happened before they’ve even started.” He tilts his head at Sylvia, waiting for her response to them. The last question he asked never got answered.
Salmook wasn't sure how to feel about all of this. Most of what was said just went in one ear and out the other. This stuff is important, supposedly. As much as he doesn't want to, he looks up slowly.
"Me not… understand. Too big words!"
He's not stupid - he doesn't think so, at least. They keep using the word "competition," and Salmook can count on one hand how many times he's heard it at home. And whatever the danger-lady said? Forget it. She might as well've been speaking in Celestien.
Salmook covers himself a little more, shrinking into his corner. Maybe if they think he's dumb, they'll let him go home? He doubts it.
(There's a reason why she's a captain at such a young age-)
Sylvia narrows her eyes. She clearly regrets letting them ask any questions. “The first competition will be simple. You’ll get to answer various questions about a certain topic for a certain amount of points, and whoever has the most points at the end is the winner. The next competition will be an obstacle course. It will be relatively dangerous, but the worst case scenario is that you’ll fall onto a net. Again, simple. The third competition… that’s a secret for now.” She doesn’t give any details about the third competition.
Daphne looks very uneasy at the lack of information about the third competition. “But why is it a-“
Sylvia glares at Daphne, and Daphne quickly shuts up.
(So basically, jeopardy knockoff, wipeout knockoff, and the creepy fear room)
(salmook about to fail miserably at the question section-)
(Hey they didn’t plan for a small child)
(They’re the ones who invited him)
(cough ok I didn’t plan for a small child)
Blaze nods.
"As I thought, though the order is different from expectations."
(correction: a small child who has never gone to school once in his life-)
