"Yes." he replied in a soft voice. "If you pull on the wings, it…activates. It has to be sunny, though, it gets its energy from the sun. It doesn't work at night." he smiled a little, embarrassed and unsure about someone else seeing his creation.
Apollo grinned, "You're brilliant. Hephaestus himself would be jealous. Don't tell him I said that-" He laughed a little bit and inspected the dragonfly curiously. "So it only works when the sun is out? So sun powered?" He felt his ego inflate just slightly at that. "It really is beautiful. You did a wonderful job." He smiled warmly.
He flushed faintly at the compliment. "I don't… yeah. It's sun powered." He fidgeted for a moment, shy and embarrassed about all of this. "Thank you."
He nods a little bit, "You're welcome. It's a wonderful creation." He chuckles warmly, his eyes moving from the machine to its creator. "Tell me more about it… or other things you've made." He murmured excitedly, filled with attention and wonder.
"Well– like I said, I'm working on a bird right now. I've made other pins and stuff, but I don't have them with me at the moment." He smiled a little, eyes flickering away after a moment.
He nods thoughtfully, "If it's alright with you, when you've finished them… I'd love to see them." He says cheerfully before settling back down on his back. "It's really enjoyable seeing what you make, the dragonfly is really beautiful." He smiled warmly.
He smiled again, clipping the dragonfly pin back onto his chiton. "Oh. Yes. Thank you. I'll show you. If…if I ever see you again after today." He doubted he would. Aurelius would go home and never come back.
Apollo, or Aelius smiled softly. "I think that would be wonderful. I love seeing your creations, they're beautiful." He chuckles quietly and ran a hand through his hair. "It would be nice to see you again, hopefully I can find my way." He glances back to the cave entrance. "Will you be here again?" He asks quietly.
(hey, I missed you! You doing okay?)
Icarus flushed again, eyes flickering up to Aelius, then away again. "I, uhm, probably. I'll be somewhere in the maze." he waved a hand vaguely. "I can't leave."
(I'm feeling a bit better. There's just a lot of stress going on. ^^)
He gazed at the other sadly. "So you're stuck here… for the rest of your life?" He murmured quietly. He knew the rumors, but that surely was unfair. He hummed, "I'm sure there's a way out." He gently set a hand on Icarus's shoulder. "There always is." He offered a kind smile.
(alright. My PMs are open if you need someone to talk to)
Icarus stiffened faintly at the touch to his shoulder, looking up at the other man. "There isn't." He replied softly. "Not unless I can grow wings and fly away."
(Thank you ^^)
Apollo tilts his head and ran a hand through his hair. "You could. Seeing as you already made something that can fly." He chuckles quietly and settled back on a rock and relaxed. He smiled up at the other. "I don't see how making wings could be difficult, but then again what do I know?"
(no problem :)
He touched the dragonfly, shaking his head a little bit. "It's different. To make wings that could hold the weight of a human…" he closed his eyes for a moment.
"I do suppose it is a bit more complicated, isn't it?" He offered a gentle smile of understanding and clicked his tongue. "Well… I'm not sure what I can do- but I'd be happy to help occasionally, even if it is just plotting." He snickers softly and ran a hand through his hair.
He opened his eyes again, looking up at him. "Yeah. Thanks." He said softly, mouth pulling up into a soft, faint little smile.
He nods before smiling, "Well… I certainly don't want to say goodbye…" He trails off, looking at the sky. "But the sun is setting. My sister will be looking for me." He whispers softly. "I'll find this spot again, I promise. He offered his hand to Icarus. "Till next time."
He glanced in confusion at the other man's hand. With such limited contact with other people, he had no idea what he was supposed to do. "I'll, uhm, see you next time."
He smiled gently and set his hand back down at his waist. "I'll see you around." He says warmly. With that he moved into the cave and down a pathway. He would need to wait a moment before he could travel back to his chariot. He didn't want to reveal himself just yet.
He watched the other go for a long moment, biting his lip and turning to look out at where the sun was beginning to set.
Finally, Apollo teleported back into his chariot, a soft sigh leaving his lips. He glanced down and smiled faintly at the sight of Icarus still on the edge, staring up at the sunset.
Icarus sat down on the edge of the cliff, feet dangling towards the water and face tipped towards the sun.
(sure! You got a thought as to when?)
(Hmmm, maybe when they meet up later? Or a few weeks later when they've gotten to know each other better?)
(ngkbsjd idk which to do because they both seem good)
(Uhhhhhh oop. Coin flip?)
(Uhhhh, few weeks later it is)
(alright! Do you want to start it or should I?)
