He nods before smiling, "Well… I certainly don't want to say goodbye…" He trails off, looking at the sky. "But the sun is setting. My sister will be looking for me." He whispers softly. "I'll find this spot again, I promise. He offered his hand to Icarus. "Till next time."
He glanced in confusion at the other man's hand. With such limited contact with other people, he had no idea what he was supposed to do. "I'll, uhm, see you next time."
He smiled gently and set his hand back down at his waist. "I'll see you around." He says warmly. With that he moved into the cave and down a pathway. He would need to wait a moment before he could travel back to his chariot. He didn't want to reveal himself just yet.
He watched the other go for a long moment, biting his lip and turning to look out at where the sun was beginning to set.
Finally, Apollo teleported back into his chariot, a soft sigh leaving his lips. He glanced down and smiled faintly at the sight of Icarus still on the edge, staring up at the sunset.
Icarus sat down on the edge of the cliff, feet dangling towards the water and face tipped towards the sun.
(sure! You got a thought as to when?)
(Hmmm, maybe when they meet up later? Or a few weeks later when they've gotten to know each other better?)
(ngkbsjd idk which to do because they both seem good)
(Uhhhhhh oop. Coin flip?)
(Uhhhh, few weeks later it is)
(alright! Do you want to start it or should I?)
(yup!)
Icarus couldn't forget the strange encounter with the other man. It had been so odd, to see someone other than himself and his father. He didn't hold high hopes that the other man would ever come back, but even still, he had found himself drifting towards the cliffs more and more, with his sketchbook or a project he had been working on.
Apollo had been… reprimanded for abandoning his duties, however when he pointed out that Zeus quite often did the same thing, as well as many other gods. It didn't stop his mind from wandering though. So, he mustered up his courage again and headed to the cliffside, his eyes bright as he waited for Icarus.
Icarus eventually came back the cliffs. His chiton was still too short, a little more revealing than it was meant to be, and he knew that, but there was nothing he could do about it. He had a small bag hanging from his shoulder, with some projects and tools inside, along with his sketchbook and some charcoal to draw with.
Apollo instantly brightened at the sight of Icarus, waving excitedly as he stood to greet the other. He looked radiant as always, his eyes bright with amusement. "Icarus! It's wonderful to see you again!" He beams excitedly.
"Aelius!" He greeted, grinning at Apollo. "I didn't think you were coming back, I'm so glad you did."
Apollo smiled, "My sister wasn't pleased I was gone so long. But I assured her I was with a friend. I just had to get back in her good graces." He laughs and rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. He perked at the sight of the bag. "Did you bring your inventions? May I see?"
He nodded, sitting down and opening the bag up. "Here's the bird I've been working on. He can't fly yet, but we're getting there."
Apollo eagerly sat down next to him and looked over the bird with such awe and revarance. "It's beautiful." He murmured softly, turning his attention to Icarus and smiling. "How long have you been working on him?"
"Mm, about a month." He replied, carefully setting the small metal and canvas bird down, stroking a hand lightly over its wing.
He nods and smiles, "It's beautiful!" He says warmly, tilting his head curiously as he looks over the bird. "What else have you been working on?" He asks curiously.
