(Okay! Well, we can pick this up again if everyone's still down? Maybe zombie attack, and Earl and his sister jump in to help?)

(oh yessss)
(Sure.)
(Sounds good to me. I'm always happy to hurt my children lol)
(same XD)
(Who shall initiate the zombies?)
(I can, just gimme like half an hour. I have an assignment to finish.)
The sun was starting to set. The group had passed through a very rural area, devoid of buildings and homes for the most part.
Tohru was starting to worry until he saw the silhouette of a farmhouse in the distance.
"Guys, let's head over there," he murmured, "Quickly, before it really does get dark."
He had taken the lead, not quite running, but at a solid jog.
They hadn't been able to stop in time to collect food, but at least there was shelter. They wouldn't have made it otherwise. Not with all these kids.
By the time they were to the front porch, the sky was dimming fast, and he was grateful they actually made it.
There was the distinct sound of cracking branches in the woods nearby. Zombies had spotted them for sure, and were at the ready to attack them as soon as they could see well enough to pursue their prey.
Tohru opened the door to the house a bit more, cautious when he realized it was already cracked open slightly.
He held a hand back, signaling for the others to stay until he determined it was safe.
Holding his flashlight out in front of him, and his gun in the other hand, Tohru walked into the entryway, unprepared for what happened next.
From the dining room, a zombie ran at him and crashed into him, ramming his body into a wall. Tohru shouted in a combination of pain and shock, and he dropped his flashlight. He found himself fighting to keep the creature's teeth off of him, pushing against its forehead with his hand until he could shoot or somehow better defend himself.
(There are a few zombies in the house, and some outside that will appear when it's darker. So basically they need to ultimately clear out the house and barricade themselves in.)
(* Cracks knuckles *)
Earl and Rachel looked at each other, then at the quickly dimming sky. "Guess we should reveal ourselves." Earl said, frowning. Rachel was already racing down the street, having heard the shouting. "Or just do that. Yeah." He sighed and sprinted after her, knocking a few zombies down as he tried to catch up.
Rachel scrambled through an open window, raising her P229. "Is anyone in here? Do you need help?" She looked around, her flashlight cutting through the dark. "I'm here to help if you couldn't tell."
Mori was exhausted by the time the group made to the house, hungry and weak from his poor night's sleep. He was wary of the house when he saw it, but it really wasn't his place to speak up. He walked in quietly in the midst of the group and screamed in terror when Tohru was pinned to the wall, catching the attention of another zombie. He grabbed his pocket knife out of his pocket and dropped his bag before bolting, trying to keep out of the zombie's reach as tears threatened to spill from his eyes.
Levi pulled his makeshift staff out of its place attached to his bags and swung it, catching the zombie chasing Mori across the stomach and pushing it away. Memories trying to push their way into his mind where kept out by sheer adrenaline.
He slammed the end of the metal staff into the side of the zombies head and watched it crumple. He paused for a moment to long to catch his breath and barely managed to get his staff between him and the next attacker, which grabbed the pole, leaving both of them grappling with it.
(my brain went 'roll for initiative', help, dnd is taking over my life)
(Oop)
Mori managed to push through into another room, where he unfortunately wasn't alone. Another zombie was waiting for him, and slammed him into the wall with one arm. Mori whimpered softly, forcing himself to his feet and grimacing as he felt sharp jabs of pain in his side and arm. Seeing that the zombie was now coming after him, he ran back out the door and headed up the stairs, locking himself in a closet so he could silently wait it out.
(no o oooo baby)
(Rachel will save you-)
Heading up the stairs, hearing footsteps and a zombie groaning, Rachel took her riot shield off her back. "I'm coming up the stair-GAGH!" She cried as she pushed the zombie away. "Hate these things. Worst creation since humanity." Rachel said under her breath as she fired her gun, sending three bullets into its head. "You can come out now!"
The Rose kids were trying to fight their way through when Lilac jumped to the side to dodge a zombie. Her knife wedged itself into her side as she screamed in pain. Luka and Bean froze before rushing to their sister. Bean tried to help her up as Luka fought off the zombies that were coming towards them. “Someone help!” Bean cried as she tried to stop the bleeding.
"N-No, I.. I c… I c-can't come out…" Mori replied, tears rolling down his cheeks as his breathing and heart rate picked up. "They're gonna get me, I… it's safer in here…" He drew his knees up to his chest, crossed his arms on top, and buried his face in them, shaking violently where he was sitting on the floor.
Rachel felt a pang of sympathy for the kid. She knew what it felt like to be scared, trapped. "It's okay kid. The monster's gone." She said gently, getting on one knee by the door. "But if you want to stay in here for a little longer, that's okay too. I'll stay here to protect you." She grabbed her spear off her back and set it down.
Earl kicked the back door open, hearing more screaming. "HERE TO HELP." He yelled, pulling out his Beretta. Earl spotted Bean crouching by his sister, who looked like she needed medical help. "Stay, there, put pressure on the wound!"
Mori nodded a bit, although Rachel wouldn't be able to see him considering he hadn't left the closet. "O-Okay… are… is everybody else okay?" He asked weakly. "Are all the zombies gone?" He came a bit closer to the door, still shaking and breathing heavily from fear and exhaustion.
"I don't think so. But my brother, Earl, is helping get them out. You probably know him as the chihuahua guy." Rachel chuckled a little. "I'm sorry if he scared you. He means well just…can be a bit grumpy, ya know?" She sat down, keeping an eye on the stairs while getting some fruit snacks out of her pack. "What's your name kid?"
"Y-Yeah, he was kinda scary… and he made the loud noise with the gun and it really freaked me out…" Mori hiccuped a bit and cradled his head in his hands, grimacing. He had hit his head against the wall pretty hard when he was attacked, and it was starting to hurt now that the adrenaline was wearing off. He looked up a bit when he was asked for his name. "U-Um… my name is Mordechai, but nobody calls me that… I just go by Mori. What's yours, ma'am?"
"Rachel. Rachel Harbinger." She slid the fruit snack package under the door, opening her own.
"Are you okay? You went up here in a bit of a rush." Rachel's eyes flicked to the stairs, the window, and most points of entry before back to the closet door. "I have bandages and cleaning pads."
Mori hesitantly accepted the fruit snacks when they were offered to him, opening the package as quietly as he could and sticking one into his mouth. He was sniffling occasionally, betraying his tears. "Uhm… a zombie hit me into the wall…" He replied softly. "My arm and my side and my head hurt… I can't tell if I'm bleeding, though. It's too dark in here…"
Tohru finally managed to whack the zombie in the back of the neck with his gun, hard enough that it staggered. With the other hand, he pulled a knife and jabbed it through the monster's eye. It screeched and shook, but eventually fell to the floor before him. He would be careful for now to avoid gunfire, just to avoid the potential of attracting more zombies.
The screams for help, the action, just everything… it was too much, and he tried his best to shut it out and do what he could to fend off the zombies that remained.
He ran down the hall, overwhelmed by the hell that had broken loose. And he was absolutely horrified that he'd dragged everyone into the situation.
If anyone died here, it would absolutely be his fault.
No longer interested in keeping quiet, he pulled open some of the doors along the way, checking every room in the downstairs for zombies. The first few were empty, but he came to a bathroom, where the frosted window was busted out and old blood had dried out on the floor. At first, no one appeared to be there, but then he saw swift movement come from the bathtub.
After confirming it was in fact a zombie, Tohru opened fire. First shot missed, but the next was enough.
Another zombie came jumping through the window. Tohru mostly avoided the attack, but the zombie managed to grab hold of one of his legs, and he fell to the floor, in the pile of broken glass. He scrambled up and fired the gun, then ran out of the bathroom, slammed the door, and slid a chair in front of it.
"Is everyone in here?" He shouted, his voice going hoarse, "We need to lock down the place. Now. There's zombies outside."
"Roger that!" Levi called out, giving an extra hard shove, forcing the staff into the zombies remaining teeth which shattered at the impact, sending shivers down Levi's spine. "Where is everyone? Are we all inside?"
Levi pushed the front doors closed, securing them with a loose beam of wood that he could barely lift. He headed the opposite way of Tohru's shouting to check the other side of the building. The first room he came to had what appeared to be a makeshift camp, possibly set up by other travellers who hadn't been careful enough with barricading themselves in. A dead torch, with the switch still set to on, had rolled to the far side of the room, dirt on the floor was scuffed and the sleeping bags laid out were now strewn around the room, probably from an attack or scuffle. There was a door at the back of the room, swinging on its hinges, leading to the world outside. Levi ran to it and slammed it closed, flicking the lock shut.
Then something grabbed his shoulders.
Tohru stopped for a second, finally registering the pain that he was in. Sure, he was pretty beat up and probably bruised, but it was the glass shards that hurt the most. He had cuts all over, and he was pretty sure some of the glass had lodged in his skin. It stung. Hurt like a bitch. But that was hardly important right now.
Tohru found himself panting, his chest tight, his head spinning, but he was aware enough to close the curtains that might mean the difference between being spotted and not. He made sure to seal off the door to the broken-in bathroom better, then double-checked the front door, thoughje was almost sure Levi had taken care of it. Speaking of whom, where was he? Where had anyone run off to for that matter? Tohru jogged down to the other end of the house where Levi would be, not sure what to expect.
Bean nodded as she put pressure on Lilac’s wound. Lilac looked ready to cry as she mumbled. “Yeah, we’re all here…” she muttered quietly as Luka turned to focus his attention on his sisters. He started to put pressure on the wound as well, hoping that will help.
Earl rushed to Lilac and pulled out bandages. "Alright, this might hurt, but it's necessary." He wrapped his hands around the knife. "One..two…three!" Earl shouted as he pulled out the blade and quickly started cleaning the wound and wrapping bandages around it.
Rachel perked up and looked down the stairs. "Hey, I think all the zombies are gone now." She smiled. "Why don't you come out so I can see if you're hurt? Getting slammed into a wall by one of those things is no joke." Rachel popped another fruit snack into her mouth calmly.
Lilac winced in pain as Bean held her up. “Stay awake Li…we need you…” Bean muttered as Lilac struggled to stay awake. Luka stayed silent as he helped Earl and his sisters.
"O-Okay…" Mori hesitated for several seconds before he tentatively opened the closet door and stepped out. He looked unsteady on his feet, and there was a bit of blood seeping through his clothes and hair. "I don't think it bit me, s-so I should be okay, right?"
