“That would be nice.” Mara agreed with a small smile up at him. “But if you want to ask me anything, I guess I don't have much to hide.” she added, shrugging briefly.
“That would be nice.” Mara agreed with a small smile up at him. “But if you want to ask me anything, I guess I don't have much to hide.” she added, shrugging briefly.
Darius chuckled softly, shaking his head.
"I'll let you know if I come up with any questions," he said in turn, offering a smile.
“Ok.” Mara giggled a little, nodding happily at their agreement. “And I’ll do the same.”
Darius moved to set the picture down, looking up at Mara and finally seeing the… Hook? That she had.
"Ah, I do have one- what's that?"
“Hmm? Oh, this?” Mara chuckled, lifting the tool up for him to see. “It helps me get around, especially when something is too tall for me to climb on my own.” she explained, holding the string attached to it. “I was actually thinking about using it to climb up to the picture if I couldn't get your attention with that bead.”
"Oh! That sounds really useful," Darius agreed. "But I was in the room when you used the bead, so I was able to notice it. I was wondering how you might get my attention for when we would like to hang out."
“It’s one of the first things I learned how to use.“ Mara chuckled again. “You… wanted me to get your attention?” she asked, a little surprised but happy at that news.
"Ah… Yeah, I did. I didn't really think it was appropriate to do it myself, seeing as it'd be an invasion of privacy… But it was a bit weird, you know? Almost like we were trying to act like nothing happened. Plus… It really is nice to talk with you."
Mara nodded a little, seeing his point. “I guess since you already know I’m here, there really isn't a point in me hiding anymore.” she agreed. “How about we leave the picture down except for at night and whenever you have company?”
"I think that's a wonderful idea." Darius sat the picture down, nodding with a smile.
"Much better, indeed."
Mara smiled back, glad that Darius liked her idea and feeling much less lonely than a few moments ago.
Darius hummed some, moving back to the couch and his food. Really, just having the way open helped him feel much better.
Mara watched him for a moment before taking her hook back to its original place and helped herself to a bowl of the soup.
Darius ate quietly, glancing up at the hold occasionally.
"So, how will we talk when I have to patch the hole up?"
“I don't know.” Mara answered as she had been wondering the same thing. “I mean, I have plenty of ways to get around so we can still see each other. But I doubt it will be the same as this.” she admitted.
"Yeah, I doubt so too. I'm not sure how to with with this, entirely…" Darius hummed in thought, hand going to his chin.
“Me neither.” Mara admitted. “This is all so new to me. It's almost a little weird…”
"I know, right? I just… It's so strange, even just his easily we've gotten used to each other as much as we have." Darius looked over, taking a bite of his pizza roll.
Mara nodded. “It is. My parents told me that… that we bond quickly because we don't get to see many others but I never thought I would even get the chance.” she told him. She wasn't even sure if that's what this was or if it would work between them…
"Really?" Darius listened intently, nodding along. "Even with someone like me?" Darius figured his was due to loneliness, in the end. He wasn't used to spending so much time on his own.
“I don't know.” Mara said softly. “I’ve never heard of something like that happening… and I've never bonded with anyone, unless you count my family… if that's even the same thing.” she told him before smiling a little at him. “But I do like being around you and talking with you.”
"Well, I definitely don't know either, when it comes to that. Still, I must agree- I quite enjoy being with you, talking and hanging out." Darius offered a smile, pulling his legs up to his chest.
Mara returned the smile, tilting her head slightly at his new posture. “Were you… lonely too?” she asked. “I… I know you live alone but…” she trailed off.
"I was," Darius admitted. "I'm still not used to the whole living in my own thing, even with being it of my parents' house for a year."
Mara nodded, understanding that feeling. “It took me a while to get used to being on my own. But I guess now we don't have to be.” she said with a small smile.
"Yeah, I guess we don't, do we?" Darius smiled some, looking down a moment before back up to Mara.
"I'm glad, that we can give each other company now."
“Me too. It's nice to be able to talk to someone and have to hide less.” Mara admitted.
"It must be," Darius agreed. "It'll make things easier for you, yeah? I'm glad."
Mara shrugged. “I guess so. It’ll definitely be easier to get around since I don't have to worry about you catching me. And we can talk anytime you're feeling lonely again.” she smiled at him, finding that she liked the idea as well.
"That sounds really nice! And the same goes for you too, you know. You ever get lonely, I'm always open to talk." Darius grinned, looking up at Mara.
