"Yeah, I doubt so too. I'm not sure how to with with this, entirely…" Darius hummed in thought, hand going to his chin.
"Yeah, I doubt so too. I'm not sure how to with with this, entirely…" Darius hummed in thought, hand going to his chin.
“Me neither.” Mara admitted. “This is all so new to me. It's almost a little weird…”
"I know, right? I just… It's so strange, even just his easily we've gotten used to each other as much as we have." Darius looked over, taking a bite of his pizza roll.
Mara nodded. “It is. My parents told me that… that we bond quickly because we don't get to see many others but I never thought I would even get the chance.” she told him. She wasn't even sure if that's what this was or if it would work between them…
"Really?" Darius listened intently, nodding along. "Even with someone like me?" Darius figured his was due to loneliness, in the end. He wasn't used to spending so much time on his own.
“I don't know.” Mara said softly. “I’ve never heard of something like that happening… and I've never bonded with anyone, unless you count my family… if that's even the same thing.” she told him before smiling a little at him. “But I do like being around you and talking with you.”
"Well, I definitely don't know either, when it comes to that. Still, I must agree- I quite enjoy being with you, talking and hanging out." Darius offered a smile, pulling his legs up to his chest.
Mara returned the smile, tilting her head slightly at his new posture. “Were you… lonely too?” she asked. “I… I know you live alone but…” she trailed off.
"I was," Darius admitted. "I'm still not used to the whole living in my own thing, even with being it of my parents' house for a year."
Mara nodded, understanding that feeling. “It took me a while to get used to being on my own. But I guess now we don't have to be.” she said with a small smile.
"Yeah, I guess we don't, do we?" Darius smiled some, looking down a moment before back up to Mara.
"I'm glad, that we can give each other company now."
“Me too. It's nice to be able to talk to someone and have to hide less.” Mara admitted.
"It must be," Darius agreed. "It'll make things easier for you, yeah? I'm glad."
Mara shrugged. “I guess so. It’ll definitely be easier to get around since I don't have to worry about you catching me. And we can talk anytime you're feeling lonely again.” she smiled at him, finding that she liked the idea as well.
"That sounds really nice! And the same goes for you too, you know. You ever get lonely, I'm always open to talk." Darius grinned, looking up at Mara.
Mara found herself blushing at his bright smile, though she was happy that she was the reason for it. “Ok. I’ll try to remember that.” she promised.
"Mm!" Darius was still grinning, leaning his head back. "I'm glad." He settled into his seat, picking up his bowl again.
Mara smiled back with a soft chuckle. “I can tell.” she teased, going back to her own meal.
Darius blushed gently, popping a pizza roll into his mouth. He smiled some, glancing at Mara occasionally.
Mara glanced back and chuckled lightly at the blush, though she simply smiled back when she caught Darius looking in her direction.
Darius smiled sweetly when he caught Mara's eyes, the blush still on his cheeks when he glanced away again.
Mara chuckled again and shook her head a little before taking another bite of her soup.
Darius continued to eat as silence fell, smiling so. He tapped his fingers lightly against his knee, looking quite content.
Mara let out a gentle sigh. This was more like the silence she was used to… it actually might have even been better. It felt more comfortable, probably because it was shared.
Darius felt much better than before, when the painting had been up. Really, it was all much nicer in general.
