And a lil bit of Celtic lore for the summer solstice (I call it Samhradh) tomorrow. I'll keep it short.
So basically this really cool Celtic god named Manannán Mac Lir protects this island to the east of Ireland called the Isle of Man (hey! That's his name! Waow!). He's protected it with weather, such as magical mists shrouding the island from enemies and with illusions that make the Manx look really buff and loaded with tons of ships and stuff ready to defend the land even though their were none. The people thought this was really poggers, and asked Manannán how they could thank him. He only asked that every Samhradh the people pay their rents with rushes. Now, rushes are this really common water weed that farmers would want to get rid of anyway, so this is like double poggers because it's such an easy sacrifice. Win win, 10/10, very merciful!

When it comes to playing cards, they have really commonly held meanings- for example, the suit of hearts has to do with love life and diamonds has to do with finances. I don't stick to that completely, since the fun of the craft for me is making my own correspondences.
However, this list here says it was compiled by a professional tarot reader, and skimming through it I see a lot of commonalities between this correspondence list and the others.
