@croccin-champagne

pickle!!!

tbh i try to live by 'if it seems too out of place, or happens a lil too often to be natural, something might be up' and the idea that everything around you can be influenced by you and your practice

@StarkSpangledMayflower_Mad_Elder

I am interested in this community but I don't think I'm interested in it because I'd like to be a part of it

I'd like one of my characters to be a witch, how would I make them so it isnt insulting or rude?

@croccin-champagne

hhmm. I think reading through this chat might be helpful for various information. i also think you ought to remember that to some, its the equivalent of Christianity or Islam or other religions. as a practice, it tends to be less rigid, though it varies per practitioner.

if you're interested in a fantasy type witch, we can only help so much.

@StarkSpangledMayflower_Mad_Elder

My story is an assassin based fantasy so not a lot of "magic" but I want to incorporate different practices in my story.

I want this character to be based loosely off my favourite tiktoker, witchwithtics and I like the way she does her craft

@croccin-champagne

thats good! having a basis for your idea is a good thing, because it makes it really easy to take inspiration bits. I dont know that tiktoker, so I'm not sure I could help much lol

@actual-fandom-trash

everytime i see a new baby witch i feel less like ??!! about figuring all this out
pickklee!!
i honestly am not super big on a lot of things and when i started i was like "im gonna stick to the small things like sigils and like,, meditation maybe"
however I am now sorta considering deities at some point-
not right away or anything because i have my own shit still but i do give offering sometimes when i see something i think someone might like i saw a really pretty rock that reminded me of the moon, so to artemis it went
but yeah i like being able to choose my own rules i think? i like things being fluid and not everything having to be structured and that may have to do with the change from Islam to witchcraft but it Pleases me
anyway i don't have any advice because i am also a baby but i think the cool part is that there's no real wrong way to go about it!! it's a lot of experimenting and figuring out what works for you and stuff

@croccin-champagne

oh man. lately I've been kinda separating from patron work, as I've kinda gathered that its seriously not my thing. I do adore artemis and aphrodite, but I think I just connect with nature so much more on a spiritual level

@Pickles group

cut to me staring at my candle in a jar trying to figure out if it's safe to put out with my fingers yup that's about how my research is going in every aspect

@ElderGod-Icefire

I've mainly been doing research on… everything, tbh. I don't like not knowing things and it feels like there's so much I don't know about this. What complicates things is that my parents can see every website I visit, so a lot of more explicitly witchy websites that could have good info, I can't visit bc my parents would see and flip their lids. So research is hard

@ElderGod-Icefire

I've done youtube. Incognito doesn't work because my parents use Circle, which monitors what websites the computer is accessing. Incognito doesn't block Circle from access

@Pickles group

I know you can fix candles that don't burn evenly and leave a bunch of wax on the side, but if I don't am I going to burn my house down or will it be fine?

@The-Magician group

Okay so I just bought another tarot deck because MY GOD was it calling my name— but after reading through the cards I found something interesting.
The High Priest.
Now is it just me who has never seen The High Priest, always The High Priestess?

@The-Magician group

I also find it interesting how the High Priestess basically represents intuition, mystery and stillness, while the High Priest can is summed up as representing instability

@The-Magician group

Upright—
“The High Priest card symbolises a wise and capable advisor. It is associated with comfort and forgiveness, the power of the conscious mind and the influence of established faith. This card could represent a father or lover, but it could also represent a teacher or man of authority and rules to get along by. The High Priest represents mercy, kindness, humility, lenience and compassion. Advice being offered. The High Priest card has a strong male connection, but is more indicative of spiritual wisdom than material matters.”

Reverse—
“Beware of bad advice. Confusion and bewilderment. It can convey the over-kindness and generosity to the point of foolishness. Vulnerability and susceptibility. Impotence. Disorderly conduct and a crisis of faith. It can be perceived in a more positive light, indicating the querent’s need to make up their own rules rather than blindly follow what has gone before.”

damn and here I thought I was supposed to do a reading in order for the cards to call me out like that-

@ElderGod-Icefire

Hmm I got a question for y'all: does the repitition of the number 3 mean anything specific? Because I've been noticing a lot of groups of three lately, especially when going on walks, and was just wondering what that means? Most of my research has been inconclusive, so?
