@croccin-champagne

its basically a ritual kit for litha! some contain spells, others contain a handful of varying items like candles, ritual oils, crystal, etc. it just depends on what you're looking at!

@croccin-champagne

i dont know if i want to spend upwards of thirty dollars on a kit of items that could be hit or miss quality though, especially when the item i REALLY want is just. candles

@ElderGod-Icefire

I'm so tempted to go on Etsy and order a "mystery" crystal, where the seller picks one at random to send you, but then the other part of me is like,,,, "but why" so. I kinda get it lol

@berlioz

Ahhh! I don't celebrate Litha under that name (it's called Samhradh in my tradition), so I didn't know it was like a holiday thing lol. But neat!
I've seen general alter kits that look pretty snazzy, come with all sorts of herbs and candles, I hope to get one someday.

@Pickles group

Just a general sign of the Goddess. Which was EXTRA dumb because I could have asked for literally anything else but no the only thing I could think of was fertility

@Pickles group

Once again, time blindness claws its way into every aspect of my life, now including my craft. My deity candles have almost collapsed on themselves because I didn't realize they'd been burning for so long. It also took me,,,half an hour to do a protection spell and I'm not sure how long it's supposed to take but it feels like it shouldn't be that long. It's fine though, I didn't have something to get to after

@berlioz

It takes however long you need it to take ๐Ÿคท
Sorry about your candles tho ๐Ÿ˜”

I gotโ€ฆ smacked in the face with a ridiculous amount of signs yesterday. The most obvious I've had. So much so it was literally nauseating (in a good way!). Thing is I still have no idea who sent them heheh. UgHHHH.

@Pickles group

Well I have mouth surgery today and I did a protection and heath jar so hopefully it helps because I'm Bad At Recovering from surgery

@berlioz

I keep getting so many signs, and I think I have an idea who's sending them (I won't speak too soon tho) and it's half amusing half so surprising and otherworldly it's an entirely different emotion.
Like not fear, but some sort of awe, coupled with a lot of admiration. Basically things are good ๐Ÿ‘Œ

@Pickles group

Made a fun game called "adhd or divine intervention?" in which I try to decide if the reason I can't find my tarot notebook is because I never know where anything is or because I'm meant to be doing something other than researching tarot at the moment

@Pickles group

Going to be out of town for litha, which I'm excited for in that I enjoy being outside there more than I do at home, but I also have to figure out how I'm going to throw together a portable altar

@ElderGod-Icefire

If you have any kind of small-ish container, you can put some of the core things you use in your craft in there, and take it along! That's what I'm planning on doing when I go on vacation granted, I only have like four crystals rn anyway so it isn't going to be hard for me lmao

@berlioz

Altoids cans are top tier altars, but even ziploc bags or your pants pocket can work. In my opinion altars can be virtual too, if you're into that. Like in a notes app have some pictures attached that inspire you and relate to your spirituality, then type up some prayers or spells, chants, etc.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Hey question for y'all: at a National Park a few months ago I got a little glass bottle full of tiny chips of Rose quartz. The bottle is sealed shut with a cork and I believe the cork is glued. Can I still use the crystals inside just in the container (just like, on my altar and with candles and such) without forcing open the cork and damaging it, or will I have to force it open? If I have to force it open, do you have any suggestions how?

@berlioz

I don't see why not! Crystals are used in spell jars all the time, so I figure they retain and output their "energies" or however you see it regardless of whether they're in a container or not. And since they're chips, it's probably better to leave them inside.

@berlioz

I picked up this old wooden cabinet/side table thing and it'll be perfect for an altar when I move out :D

@Pickles group

Okay ik a pentacle is a star with a circle and a pentagram is one without, but I'm still confused about what the symbolic/representative differences and uses are? I can't really find anything about it

@berlioz

I'm not sure there is too much of a difference symbolically in pagan circles. I think the circle might represent more unity and infinity, but I don't think there's a strong religious difference.

Also, things I've learned over the past couple weeks:

-Just because you're interested in a god or pantheon or think your m/patron is a part of a certain pantheon doesn't mean you're right. Don't do what I did and limit your scope and block out things that "don't fit" your expectations.

-Saints are pretty poggers- many non-Catholic practitioners enjoy and report success working with them

-Playing cards are just as valid of a divination tool as tarot (and cheaper!)

-Who my m/patron god is :)))) (I'm pretty sure! Just don't feel cool sharing it online- at least yet?) and I'm fucking EXCITED ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰
