Larkin buried his face in Samul's chest, quivering a bit. "I… I-I'm sorry… I'm s-so sorry, Samul…"
Larkin buried his face in Samul's chest, quivering a bit. "I… I-I'm sorry… I'm s-so sorry, Samul…"
Samul held Larkin so tight to himself.
"I–" Samul cut himself off. "You d-didn't do it on purpose, Larkin, we'll- we'll find a way a fix this."
"I don't… I-I dunno what to do… do we know who sent this? What can we do? Are they gonna send me away to get tested on??"
"I…" Samul examined the drop again. "They sent their number," he said softly. He hesitated, then moved to text it.
What do you want?
Nothing.
"I won't let them," Samul said, holding Larkin tight to himself.
Tears stung Larkin's eyes as he huddled up with Samul, terrified. "I-I don't wanna… I don't wanna get tested on…"
"I won't, I won't let anyone take you from me." Samul held close, feeling his phone buzz with a notification.
I want him.
Larkin didn't even look at Samul's phone, not sure he wanted to know what it said. "I'm scared, Samul…"
"I–" Samul held Larkin tighter to himself, dropping the phone. No, no, nonono, he couldn't– he couldn't let that happen.
Larkin buried his face in Samul's shoulder and hiccuped a couple of times. "W-What did he say…?"
Samul was trembling a bit. He held Larkin close to himself.
"I… they- they said–" Samul closed his eyes, letting out a silent choked sob.
Larkin looked up at Samul weakly. "S-Samul? What… what does he want from us…?" He asked, clearly worried.
Samul held Larkin a bit closer to himself. He struggled to find the words, the words that could help Larkin calm down, that wouldn't frighten him, but… they never came.
"Y…" Samul trailed off, holding Larkin a bit closer.
"You…"
Larkin paled and held tighter to Samul. "W-What does he mean by that? What does he want me for? How… how does he want me…?" He asked nervously.
"I… I don't k-know…" Samul squeezed his eyes shut a moment, then forced them open, looking around. Where was this man..? What was he doing..? Was he still watching them..?
Larkin buried his face in Samul's chest again, obviously terrified. "I-I… we can't let him give that information to the police or the government or anything…"
Samul nodded some. He held Larkin close. He felt his phone buzz again, terrified to look. Still, he held it up with a shaky hand.
Bring him to the pier.
Larkin glanced back as well and bit down hard on his lip, terrified. "I… I-I guess we have to go, don't we?"
Samul put his head on Larkin's, holding him close.
"I…" He nodded just slightly. "We have to…"
Larkin nodded weakly and held tighter to Samul, terrified. "Alright, then… u-um… let's… let's go, then…" He whispered.
Samul nodded slightly again. He held Larkin close to himself, standing up.
"I'm s-sorry, Larkin," he said, voice cracking a bit.
Larkin whimpered quietly and held tighter to Samul, clearly petrified. "Let's just go figure out what this asshole wants with me…"
Samul started off, their sandcastle abandoned. He had Larkin pressed against his chest, arms tight around him. He walked towards the pier, shaking just a bit. What did this person want Larkin? Why did he say it like that? Just what did he want?
Larkin kept his face buried in Samul's chest as he was carried, quivering in the other's arms. Hopefully this wouldn't be too bad, whatever it was…
Samul eventually came to the pier, the sounds of the other beach goers muffled. There was no one else there, or so it seemed. No one could see them here. He held Larkin closer to himself.
Larkin glanced up nervously, still shaking. "Where is he…?" He asked in a terrified whisper.
Samul looked around as well, doing his best not to shake himself. It was a a few moment before a man stepped out. His eyes were only on Larkin.
Larkin cowered a bit in Samul's arms when he saw the man, whimpering quietly. "W-What do you want with me…?"
Samul turned just slightly to shield Larkin from the man more. The man was quiet a moment.
"Take off the hat," he said, ignoring Larkin's question.
Larkin hesitated before obeying, tugging on the brim of his hat until it came off. He turned his ears back once they were out in the open and shifted uncomfortably.
Samul held Larkin a bit closer to himself as the werewolf took the hat off. The man took a step forward, examining Larkin with a hungry look in his eyes.
"What do you want?" Samul said, holding Larkin to himself.
