“Operation?” Bridge tilted his head in confusion.
“Operation?” Bridge tilted his head in confusion.
"Well, I wasn't exactly working with anyone or anything. That's just a simpler way of saying trying to commit mass murder without getting caught."
“Oh.” He blinked. “That…that makes sense.”
"I just wanted to hear him scream… He was a little too loud, though." Scipio said to himself in an eerie, echoey way.
“Well…” He tilted his head on the bench, unsure of what to say.
"If I'd been more careful, maybe I wouldn't have gotten caught. Oh well… you live, you learn."
“You’re…you’re never going to get out, are you?” He asked softly.
Scipio shook his head. "Not unless I escape. Even so, they always find you. They always bring you back."
“Have you…ever escaped before?” Bridge inquired in a small voice.
"Never out of the building, but out of the cell. They've moved me before because of it."
“…How did you get out?”
"Tried to knock out all the guards and run through the open door. I actually got pretty close to escaping, but they caught me."
“Oh.” He paused. “What…what would you do if you did escape?”
Scipio shrugged. "Not much I could do. I guess I'd have to get a job and live in a motel or something for a while. Probably would end up on the streets."
“Okay.” Bridge nodded fairly. “That sounds…okay.”
"Yeah. I'd also have to change my appearance, most likely. They'd have it on the news and stuff that a mass murderer is on the loose and there's some huge reward for capture."
“Oh…that’s smart.” He said. He hadn’t thought of that.
"Imagine I got a job before that and my manager just watched the news and looked at me like, 'huh… you look a lot like this guy'."
Bridge smiled a little bit, looking back at him. “Has…has that ever happened?”
"Nah. I mean, I'm sure it was on the news when I got sent here, but there aren't any tv's in this place."
“I…I didn’t think so.” He admitted.
"I'd be surprised if it wasn't on the news, honestly. 'Sixteen year old murderer sentenced to life in an asylum. Says he regrets nothing.' Kinda wish I could watch that, honestly." Scipio smirked a bit to himself.
“You…you don’t regret anything, do you?” He asked, not at all in a condescending tone.
Scipio shook his head. "No guilt whatsoever."
“Okay.” He nodded, not even disturbed anymore.
