Cicada laughed as she continued to smile. It was cute how he tried not to sound pushy, "I'm definitely down to do this again. Whatever time works best for you I can probably do as well."
Cicada laughed as she continued to smile. It was cute how he tried not to sound pushy, "I'm definitely down to do this again. Whatever time works best for you I can probably do as well."
"Really? Oh great, I'll have to check out my week before I make plans… I'll text you?" He asked with a bright smile growing on his lips. He wanted to get her consent before just spamming her with unneeded text messages.
"Yeah!" Cicada responded nodding with a big smile. She had made a friend already, that was great. Next step was to get him on board with some of her crazier ideas she wanted to try. But they would need to be closer before she tried that, "Yeah text me whenever."
His smile turned into a grin as he pulled up into the parking lot. "Awesome, feel free to do the same. I'll probably be up until two a.m. regularly, so feel free to text me anytime between nine am to two am."
"Sounds like a plan," Cicada laughed as she unbuckled from the car smiling. She could see her own car from where they were, "I'll probably be up till 3 or so. Who knows really."
"You should go to bed, if you don't have homework." Phoenix hummed, in a sing-song tone. "I have an excuse not to go to bed, and I don't believe you do… do you?"
"Oh I'll come up with something," Cicada responded looking back at him as if it were a challenge, "I always do. Or at least my head does."
"Mmm, then maybe that something should be going to bed." Phoenix joked, leaning back against his seat so he could yawn and stretch. "I'll trade you, if you want to stay up."
"Nah, I got enough to keep me awake already," Cicada laughed slightly before letting out a sigh and muttering, "I wish that something would go away so I can sleep too."
"Is it something you need to talk about?" Phoenix asked, his playful mood diminishing in case she needed someone serious to talk to. "I'm here to listen…. or try and distract you."
"No, no I'm fine," Cicada pressed a hand to her head. Stupid, she was so so stupid for saying anything. She let out a sigh and forced on another smile, "Really, I'm fine. If I need a distraction I'll let you know okay?"
'Of course, I seriously doubt that.' Phoenix forced his own smile on, nodding softly. "Yeah, sure thing. Whenever you need it, I can be pretty distracting." He joked with a light laugh.
Cicada laughed and went to open the door, "I'll remember that. I'm going to head out. I'll see you tomorrow?"
"Y-yeah, see you tomorrow." Phoenix nodded, feeling really stupid for offering something she would probably never take. "Drive safely."
"You too," Cicada got out of the car still with her fake smile on, "Bye." She walked over to her car and got in the driver's seat. She let out a long sigh just sitting there for a moment.
Phoenix himself groaned, before resting his forehead on the steering wheel. "What a spectacular way to end a night…" He muttered, feeling more and more like an idiot.
"I'm such an idiot," Cicada muttered to herself looking up at the roof of her car. She let out another long sigh before she started up the car and looked to just go back to her dorm. She needed to be alone at the moment.
(Do we wanna timeskip, or did you want to continue to write on? I don't care either way.)
(We can skip.)
(M'kay, any idea when to?)
(…No idea? Sorry writing an essay and that's taking a lot of my brain power.)
(That's fine! I'll just write something up… and I apologize for disappearing.)
(You're fine! Thanks.)
Phoenix had woken up at his desk, halfway through his homework. His phone was buzzing, the reason for him waking up. With a heavy groan, he gathered his homework into a bag so he could carry it down to get something to wake him up first before finishing. He only had an hour or so before classes started, not giving him much time to finish. Phoenix quickly changed, and pulled on his shoes before quietly sneaking out of the dorm to not wake his roommates. They didn't need to be up anyways.
Cicada hadn't fallen asleep. She had laid awake staring at the ceiling for what felt like an eternity, at least until her alarm went off. She let out a long sigh and started getting ready for the day. Her bag was packed and ready to go all she needed to do was get dressed and then go. There was still an hour before class started so she had plenty of time with no homework to worry about.
