"Mm, I do, but I have a feeling you're probably pretty emotionally drained from the last day and a half." Phoenix insisted, holding the door for her. "I'm more concerned about you."
"Mm, I do, but I have a feeling you're probably pretty emotionally drained from the last day and a half." Phoenix insisted, holding the door for her. "I'm more concerned about you."
Cicada hated how he was right. and even more so how she didn't really feel like arguing against him. She let out a long sigh as she went to get into the car, "Aaand, I guess you're right with some good reasons. Maybe I'll take a nap on the way back."
"You want me to sit in the back with you? Or would you rather have some space?" Phoenix asked softly, still gently holding onto her face. He carefully pecked her lips. "I can sit in the front, or back with you."
"Mmmm can you sit in the back with me?" Cicada asked with a little smile looking up at him. She didn't want to go into the car until Phoenix did as well, "If your fine with it that is."
"Yeah, of course. I offered, didn't I?" He laughed some, seeming to note her hesitancy to get in. Sliding in the back of the car, he patted the seat next to him for her to sit.
Cicada gave him a side smile as she slid in next to her. She let out a soft sigh as she went to buckle up and then lean against him the best she could, "Yeah, I guess you did."
Phoenix smiled softly, draping his arm over her shoulders when she leaned up against him. Carefully he rubbed her shoulder with a light hum as Savanna started the car. "It's gonna be a longer ride, you best get comfortable." Savanna hummed as she pulled out of the parking lot.
Cicada let out a little sigh and seemed to relax just slightly. She was glad to be getting out of this town that only seemed to bring back bad memories. She had a little bit of a wicked smile on intially, but quickly curbed it back so it was just a smile, "I think we're doing that already."
"Good." Savanna hummed, keeping her eyes glued to the road. Phoenix smiled softly down at Cicada, curling up closer to her with a light sigh.
Cicada felt a yawn bubble up but forced it back down as she leaned further against Phoenix. She glanced up at him, "I'm definitely taking that nap on the way back."
"Go right ahead, I'll be here when you wake up." Phoenix hummed softly, kissing the top of her head. He smiled softly, rubbing her arm still. Yawning himself, he leaned up against her.
Cicada nodded ever so slightly as she let her head rest up against him as she let her eyes close. She had expected this to go a little bit differently, but was glad Savanna wasn't really asking questions. It meant she could sleep.
(Do we want to skip?)
(Probably.)
(I'm so sorry, I got busy.)
When Savanna pulled up to the apartment, she let the lights flood the back seat as she got out. At the sudden shift, Phoenix winced a snapped awake. "Vanna…" He groaned, rubbing at eyes. "Hush up, baby. I just drove 14 hours for your ass, don't whine and complain to me." She snapped in return, seeming quite irritable right now. It was a little after 2 a.m., and she had been up since around 7 from the morning before. She was pretty grumpy.
"Mm, no need to be screwy about it." He mumbled, running a hand through his hair. Slowly he started to get out, unbuckling Cicada to try and carry her up to her dorm.
Cicada let out a little whine at having the lights now flood her senses. She slowly started to wake up and pushed away whoever was trying to move her and went to go get up herself. She felt a little stiff and sore from however she was sleeping, "Mmm Imawake."
Phoenix pulled back from her, leaning against the car with a yawn. "Mm, sorry… honestly, I'm glad you're awake. I don't know if I could have carried you inside." He mumbled, rubbing at his face. He was tired and his neck hurt, definitely wanting to go to bed.
Cicada blinked a little bit as she went to get out of the car stretching a little. She let out a yawn before finally getting out of the car, "Um, yeah What time is it anyway?"
"I honestly don't-" Savanna stood up, giving a slight glare to the both of them. "Two o'clock in the fucking morning." She growled some, Phoenix pushing off the car. He gave her an apologetic look before reaching in and grabbing Cicada's stuff off the the floor. "Right, well um, thanks Savanna." He nodded, watching as she slammed the car door. Her happy, plucky attitude was nowhere to be found as she headed up to the dorm room. "Sorry about her… she's not usually so… I dunno. That."
"Probably because it's 2 in the morning and she's been driving a lot to get our dumb asses," Cicada responded her brain flickering to life with the few minutes of being the cooler night air. She looked over at Phoenix, "Maybe we should have just waited until your car was fixed."
"Nah, she'll be fine. I said she's normally not like that. On occasion she'll get kinda pissy." Phoenix shrugged, yawning once more as he reached over to hand her her bag. "She's typically fine the next day. So don't worry about it."
Cicada took the bag from his hand with a long sigh. She gave him a half smile as she hoisted the bag onto her shoulder, "I hope so. I'll see you later today I guess? Or maybe not… I don't know."
"I'm hoping so. Let's hope we get up in time for classes." Phoenix laughed softly, yawning once more as he rubbed at his eyes. "You gonna be alright, tonight?"
"I hope so," Cicada laughed a little before it turned into a yawn. She hummed ever so softly after that blinking her eyes once more, "I should be, I think."
Phoenix nodded some, hesitating as he started to prepare himself to walk off. "I can stay if you need me. Just say the word." He told her softly, hesitating in his steps. "If you're really sure, I'm gonna head back to my dorm."
