Phoenix nodded some, giving her a soft smile. He didn't comment on her flushed face, just pulled her closer to himself with a soft sigh. "Of course… whatever you need."
Phoenix nodded some, giving her a soft smile. He didn't comment on her flushed face, just pulled her closer to himself with a soft sigh. "Of course… whatever you need."
Cicada let out a soft sigh and leaned up into him. Her eyes shut just slightly as she muttered, "Right now, I just need to know your safe."
“Me? What about you?” Phoenix asked softly, running his fingers through her hair. He was being gentle, and quiet as he played with her hair. “I’m clearly fine, love. You’re the one I’m worried about.”
Cicada let out a soft hum feeling his hand in her hair, "I'll be fine if your fine. He, he hasn't tried to come after me yet, and… And I'm worried he's going to hurt you to try and get to me."
"What's he gonna do to me? He caught me off-guard last night. I over-powered him last time we bumped into each other. It was just a fluke. It's not going to happen again." He told her softly, rubbing her shoulder.
"I don't know," Cicada replied quietly. She let out another sigh as she tried to push away the memories creeping up, "That's what I'm worried about. Breck-He's never been, been physical, but that doesn't mean he can't fuck with you in other ways."
Phoenix sighed weakly, resting his chin on the top of her head. He kept her close, trying to distract her some. "I won't let anything happen to myself or you. I promise. He won't hurt me."
"I, okay," Cicada seemed to relax ever so slightly though she was still worried about Phoenix. She buried her head against him, "Just, just remember not all pain is physical okay?"
"I never forget it, love. Trust me." Phoenix whispered, still rubbing her shoulder. He sighed weakly, leaning against her. The nap had refreshed him, but he still seemed sleepy.
Cicada smiled a little as she nuzzled up against him again. As much as she normally hated conact, it was nice being held and knowing Phoenix was there and safe, "Good, thank you."
"Of course." He nodded a little, kissing the top of her head again. He nosed against her cheek, sighing weakly. "I love you, you know that, right?" Phoenix asked softly, still rubbing his shoulder.
"I know, and you know I love you too, right?" Cicada asked him back galncing up at him with a soft smile.
(Sorry, motivation has been at an all time low recently.)
(It's all good! If you need to wait to reply, feel free to do so. I don't mind waiting.)
"Of course I know that…" He whispered, sighing softly. "I promise, I'm not forgetting it. You mean a lot to me. I'd hope you would remember that." He mumbled, resting his chin on the top of her head.
(We can skip, a couple days later if you'd like.)
(That would be nice.)
((I'm probably just being dumb, but which were you referring to?))
(Both lol)
((Alright, aha. I can write up the skip, if you want, so then it's waiting for you when you're feeling motivated.))
(If you could skip that would be great. And whenever will work, I don't think my motivation is coming back anytime soon lol)
((Alright, I'll do that ASAP. Take all the time you need to respond.))
The next few days went by, Phoenix having gone and tried to make up for his couple classes he had missed. After a quick explanation, he had been let off pretty easy. Most had been concerned for him, but being him, he brushed it off like no big deal.
Later that weekend, Phoenix had made sure to check on Cicada practically daily. When Sunday hit, he offered to spend the night with her, so they could walk to class the following day. Now he was on his way over to her dorm, making sure to stay in view of people. When he approached the building, he waited outside for her, shooting her a text to let her know he was here.
(Thank you.)
((No problem))
Cicada had been spending most of her days in her dorms, the only time she ever left was to go to class or, on the occassion, eat. And when she had left the dorm she was so jumpy that even the slightest of things almost set her off. It was pure luck she hadn't set anything on fire yet. The phone ping broke her thoughts and she checked it quickly before heading down to the doors of the building. She opened the door and flashed Phoenix a smile, "Hey."
(Hey, sorry for the wait. The past couple days have been… rough. I kinda lost motivation, and apologize again for the wait.)
(No that's fine! Take all the time you need :)
