"Oooo their sausage pizza is the best!" Cicada commented as she stepped into the elevator once it arrived. She seemed to be perking up even though it was mainly a facade. She still felt awful, paranoid, and stressed. But she could at least look happy for Phoenix's sake.
"Then we'll have to get that. It sounds good." Phoenix hummed, nodding just a bit. He was feeling more relaxed after being fooled by her happy demeanor. Normally he wouldn't believe it, but right now he was too tired to process anything.
Cicada was glad he was fooled, it made her job of being fake happy easier. She would probably break down whenever Phe fell asleep, but for now, she was happy Cicada, "It is promise. It's bit more of a spicy sausage just as a warning."
"That's fine. I could use a little heat, right now." Phoenix hummed softly, stepping into the elevator when it came down. "Mm, and some water. I feel a headache coming on. I definitely didn't drink enough today."
"You really should have drank some in the car," Cicada giggled a little. Maybe she was laying it on a little tooo thick. She stepped out with him, "Which room number is it?"
"Umm… 316?" Phoenix mumbled, handing over the key-card. Even in his tired state, he was starting to catch on. The giggling, yeah, that had kind of tipped him off. But he kept quiet for the time being. "It's suppose to be that way."
"Okay," Cicada took the key card and began to head that way. She shouldn't have giggled, but oh well. She swiped the key card and opened up the door for them both, "I'll call the pizza place?"
“Yeah, you do that…” Phoenix mumbled, making his way to the kitchen as soon as he was inside. Like he had said, his head was starting to really hurt. He definitely needed to drink a glass or two of water. “I’ll… I’ll be in the kitchen.”
“Okay, do you need some painkillers?” Cicada asked softly as she reached into her bag to see if she had any, “If not I’ll order the pizza.”
“I’ll be fine for now. You worry about the pizza.” Phoenix mumbled, starting to down a full glass. He could wait a little before taking any medicine. “I can take care of myself.”
"Okay," Cicada nodded and went for the hotel phone rather than her own. She had to look up the number since she didn't quite remember it. However, she was surprised to find that she remembered most of it, and ordered the pizza to the room.
Phoenix had already downed two glasses of water, and had made his way over to the couch. Flopping down on it, he let out a low groan. "After dinner, I might take those pain-killers." He told her, his voice muffled by the fabric of the couch.
"You're more than welcome too," Cicada went to lightly rub the top of his head. She did so playing with his hair gently in a soothing manner, "I ordered the pizza either way. Are you doing okay?"
Phoenix shrugged a bit, turning his head to look up at her. His face showed he was at least very uncomfortable, and most likely in pain. "Meh… I was an idiot for not drinking water… what about you? Are you alright?"
"Yeah, I'm fine," Cicada lied a little. She could tell he was in pain and decided to spare him from her own current problems. Her hand continued to move in soothing ways, "I'm more worried about you."
"Mm, but I'm worried about you. You haven't even had a minute to process everything without stressing yourself." Phoenix muttered, pushing himself into a sitting position. He scooted over to give her some room on the couch. "Come on, tell me what's bugging you."
Cicada sat down next to him. She was being very careful as she decided whether to play dumb, or not. Eventually, after a good minute of silence she finally let out a sigh, "I, fine. I'm not okay and until we get back to campus I'm probably not going to be okay. But it's fine, I can handle it."
Phoenix sighed softly, reaching out for her hand. He pushed his own needs from his mind, giving Cicada his full attention. "You don't have to, Cicada. I'm here for you- I love and care about you." He whispered a bit, kissing her knuckles gently.
"I know," Cicada responded softly. She let him take her hand and gave him a soft smile. He needed to stop putting her problems ahead of his own, but she knew he probably never would. She went to maybe lean up against him, "And I appreciate it, but this is something I need to deal with myself. And you have your own problems at the moment."
"It's only a headache." Phoenix pointed out simply, wrapping his arm around her shoulders. Gently he rested his head against hers, and shut his eyes with a soft sigh. "I'm really here if you need anything. I'm willing to do whatever you need, Cicada."
"Than can we just cuddle until the pizza gets here?" Cicada asked him almost meekly. She was finally showing how tired and scared she was at this moment. Her head found its way into the crook of his neck.
Phoenix smiled softly, and gently started rubbing her shoulder. "Of course, love. Whatever you want to do." He whispered softly, kissing the top of her head. He was glad she didn't want to do much. In all honesty, he wasn't sure how much he could do right now.
"As long as you feel fine, whatever I want," Cicada corrected him as she stayed there. Her eyes shut as she tried to push out the image of Brecken from her head. She let out a long sigh before glancing up at him, "Okay?"
"Alright, alright fine." Phoenix sighed softly, resting his head against hers. He yawned a little, starting to rub her shoulders. "Though that's your choice. I'd be fine to do whatever you need, even now."
"I know, but I don't want you to push yourself," Cicada murmured a little as she relaxed under his touch. She let out a soft sigh and nuzzled against him before mumbling more to herself, "I never thought I'd come back here."
