Cicada blinked slightly at his message. Maybe his car had been fixed and she needed to drive him back over to the other town. That probably wasn't the case, but she sent back anyway, 'Sure. I'll meet you by the door.'
Cicada blinked slightly at his message. Maybe his car had been fixed and she needed to drive him back over to the other town. That probably wasn't the case, but she sent back anyway, 'Sure. I'll meet you by the door.'
Phoenix nodded some, letting out a weak sigh. She was going to stay close to the building. With people, and cameras. In broad daylight. That was better than meeting him somewhere random on campus, at least. 'Yeah, thanks. I'll be there in a couple minutes.' When texting her, her clearly didn't think about the fact she could have been heading to her next class. But this was far more important anyways.
Cicada started to become concerned. She wasn't at class and that was a good thing, but she should have been and Phoenix should have known that. Something must be wrong if he was coming over right then and there. So she grabbed her keys and began to make her way down to the front door of the dorm.
Gathering a jacket, his phone, and keys he was off out of the apartment. The darker circles under his eyes were pretty prominent, but he'd do his best to wave it off. He wasn't fine, but he could pretend long enough if it could protect her.
Cicada made it down to the front and glanced around to see if she could spot Phoenix. She did spot him after a few minutes and gave him a slight smile at seeing him.
Phoenix was quickly walking up to the apartment, glancing around the surrounding area. He could be anywhere, waiting and watching. The thought built up in the back of his head, him picking up the pace. He was up at the building in a matter of minutes, putting his gaze on her. "Hey…" He greeted in a weak tone, still glancing around.
"Hey… Are you alright?" Cicada asked him noticing his more jumpy behavior. She opened up the door for him and gestured for him to come inside hoping that might calm him down, "Come on in, we can head up to my room."
Phoenix glanced over to her, slightly shaking his head. Though he doubted she noticed. He was so tired and so anxious as they walked; his brain was so incredibly foggy as well. It showed as he stumbled a little when following after her.
Once he was through the door she went to maybe hug him or hold him or something. He looked dead on his feet, and she was really worried about him, "I'll help you to my room okay?"
Phoenix wrapped his arm over her shoulder, holding onto her tightly as they made their way to her room. "Yeah, thanks…" He mumbled as they walked along. He didn't know how to act, but knew it was too late to pretend he was okay.
Cicada nodded once efore making her way back to her dorm room. She would gladly hold onto Phoenix given how he was acting. Was he hurt? Did something happen? What was going on?
Phoenix kept glancing back behind them, keeping her held close to himself. She was probably worried for him right now. His paranoid behavior probably wasn't helping right now either. "I'm sorry…" He mumbled as they reached the door.
"Hey, it's fine," Cicada replied glancing up at him as she opened up the door. she gave him a soft smile letting the door swing right open though concern showed freely in her eyes, "What's up anyway?"
Phoenix played with his one sleeve, still holding onto her. "I- um… I just want to make sure you're okay…" He mumbled a bit, realizing her probably needed to give her some space. So he took a step back, hugging himself.
"I'm fine," Cicada told him letting the door shut behind them. She appreciated the space he was now giving her, "But what about you? You look like you didn't sleep at all last night."
"I- um…" Phoenix trailed, glancing out the window before turning back to her. He shook his head a little, seeming to clear his thoughts. "Sorry, what? I- um… I'm kind of distracted."
"What's going on with you?" Cicada asked concerned reaching out for his arm. She was now really worried for him slightly dragging him towards the bed, "Come on sit down."
Phoenix let her pull him along, slowly sitting down with her. He looked at her, focusing his gaze and thoughts on her. What had he been thinking? He shouldn't have asked to talk to her— he would only worry her a lot more. She wouldn't be able to sleep at night because of this. "I- um… I dunno… bad night sleep?"
"Your actions seem to be a bit more than just bad sleep," Cicada told him softly. Her smile seemed to have all but disappeared being completely replaced by concern, "If you don't want to talk that's fine, but you came over here for a reason."
"I- um…" Phoenix trailed, picking at his jeans. He couldn't decide with his thoughts going back and forth. Should he, or should he not tell her what had happened last night? Glancing up to her, he gave her a nervous look before muttering under his breath. "He followed us…"
Cicada felt her blood run cold as she heard his words. It was faint, but if she was right then that really wasn't good, "Ummm, really? How do you know?"
Phoenix continued to fidget with his sleeves, eyes looking anywhere but at her. "I… I bumped into him." He replied just as quietly, his voice a little rough sounding.
"Oh," Cicada replied her voice going quiet. Why was he here? For her? But why hadn't she run into him yet. Probably because she hadn't really left the dorm. And Phe ahd bumped into him, which means… "Oh Phoenix, are you okay?"
Phoenix glanced up at her when she spoke again. Slowly he started to shake his head, before pausing. "Physically, or emotionally?" He asked in a soft tone, not even a hint of joking there.
"Either, both," Cicada replied with maybe the smallest hint of a smile. She was freaking out, but was more worried for Phoenix at the moment.
Phoenix slightly shook his head again, running a hand through his hair. "Emotionally, I'm… I'm kind of a wreck. But what's different?" He weakly laughed, starting to play with his clothes again. The more attention he drew to himself, the more it was obvious he hadn't changed from the day before. He seemed… dirty. Physically covered with dirt, on mostly his face and clothes.
"Nothing, I guess," Cicada replied looking over at him. She watched him for a moment seeing that he seemed to be worried about his appearance, "Do you need a hug?"
"I- um…" Phoenix felt his face grow a subtle pink as he looked over to her. He gave her a soft look, lightly nodding his head. "I-I'd like one, if… if you're up for it."
"Yeah, I'm up for it," Cicada replied with a soft smile as she went to wrap her arms around him. She was more than happy to help him out.
Phoenix leaned into her hug, resting her head against his. He kissed the top of her head, taking in the fact that she was alright for now. "Im so sorry… I wish this never happened… I wish I could have stopped him…"
