“You don’t need to apologize. I’m more concerned about you. Are you doing alright?” Phoenix asked softly, continuing on down the sidewalk. “And where are you? I didn’t see which way you went.”
“You don’t need to apologize. I’m more concerned about you. Are you doing alright?” Phoenix asked softly, continuing on down the sidewalk. “And where are you? I didn’t see which way you went.”
"I'm doing better," Cicada sdmitted after a moment. She looked towards the street sign so she could tell Phoenix where to go, "Uhh and turn down Smith Street. I'm sitting against the building on the corner."
"Right, thanks." Phoenix replied softly, glancing around the surrounding area. When he realized where he was, he nodded a bit before continuing. "And you're really doing any better?"
"Considering I was about to have a panic attack when I first hid, then yeah better," Cicada was curled up by the building. She kept an eye on the corner looking for either Phoenix or Brecken. She really hoped it was just Phoenix, "I, I really should have said something sooner. But, um, plus side now you've met my ex?"
"Yeah, I don't think that's exactly a plus." Phoenix sighed softly, turning the corner and smiling when he saw Cicada. He pulled his phone back, and hung up as he approached her. "But there's a half chance that won't be happening again. You want to head off to the hotel?"
"Yeah, uh, I would really like that," Cicada responded standing up from where she was and brushing off the dust. Her knife was now in her bag rather than her boot and she almost instantly went to hug him, "You, you can call the hotel. Please?"
"Of course, darling." Phoenix smiled, wrapping his arms around her. He gently kissed the top of her head, tipping her chin up just a bit. "Could I borrow your phone to call? Or do you know the number, so I can?"
"I, I know the number," Cicada replied looking into his eyes. He wasn't hurt, and he was still here. He was still here. That alone made her want to smile a little, "I honestly don't care as long as it gets done."
Phoenix nodded a bit, pulling his phone out and ready to dial. "I'll just use my own. You can lead the way while I talk." He hummed softly, glancing over to her. "What's the number?"
"Umm," Cicada repeated the numbers from her memory over to him making sure he got them all down. She eventually pulled away from him and started to pull him along as she made her way towards the hotel.
After a couple of minutes on the phone, he gave his thanks before hanging up. “There’s room for us, and all we have to do is pay when we get there. They’ll give us the room key, and we can head on up immediately.” Phoenix told her, leaning over to kiss her softly. “Then we can figure out what to do.”
Cicada gave him a soft smile and leaned up against him in return. She really just needed someone to hold her right now, but that could wait until they were at the hotel, "Okay. I still, I still think pizza is a good idea and I know a great place that delivers to the hotel."
Phoenix smiled softly, pocketing his phone. "Then we can do that. We'll order pizza up to the hotel, and hang out there. We could watch a movie too if you want." He hummed softly, giving her a smile.
"A movie would be nice," Cicada kept her smile up as she looked up at him. She spotted the hotel up ahead and wanted to let out a cry of relief, privacy at last, "That's the hotel up ahead."
"Awesome, we can look for one then." Phoenix hummed as he glanced up and saw the hotel she pointed out to. A little smile pulled up as he picked up the pace. "Race you?"
"Sure, but I'm going to win," Cicada told him deciding a race might be good to get the adrenaline out of her system. She had a little smirk on as she began to pick up the pace, "I'll see you there then!"
"Right, see you there!" Phoenix called out, starting on a jog to chase after her. He wasn't going too fast, knowing she would win. But he didn't want to not try at all.
Cicada kept going letting her adrenaline course through her body causing her to go faster. She slowed to a quick stop outside of the hotel before looking back to Phoenix, "Told you I'd win."
Phoenix chuckled softly, coming to her side after a couple of seconds. "I never said you wouldn't. I know you're too fast for me." He hummed lightly, leaning over and kissing her cheek. "You ready to head in?"
"Yeah," Cicada said catching her breath for a moment. She gave him a little smile seemingly relaxed a lot more than earlier, "Mind leading the way in?"
"Of course I don't mind." Phoenix smiled, hooking their arms together before leading her through the door. He seemed to feel better, seeing she was already looking better. Leading her up to the counter, he quickly got their key and paid for the night in a matter of minutes. After that he turned to her with a smile. "Ready to head up?"
"Yeah," Cicada nodded glancing around the lobby. She had wondered if Breeze was working today, apparently not. That was one old friend she wouldn't have minded seeing. She gave Phoenix a soft smile, "Which floor are we on?"
"Mmm… third. Do we want to take the elevator?" Phoenix offered in a light tone, lacing their fingers together. He was scanning over the couple of papers he was holding, pulling the room key out.
"Sure," Cicada replied squeezing his hand a little. She began walking towards the elevator, "We can get to the room faster, which means we can get pizza faster."
Phoenix chuckled softly, following after her. "That's true. What kind of pizza do you want? You know they have, and I'm assuming, what's best." He chirped a little, pressing the button to call to elevator.
