He sighed in relief and leaned into Connor's gentle touch, purring in response. "Darn, I was going to ask about those two next." He teased, amusement dancing his eyes. "But thank you." He pressed a kiss to Connor's nose before tilting his head back and then to the side. "Oh, it's just something that's supposed to help you calm down. Something about the repeated movement and gentleness." He explained. "You seemed stop be getting sleepy so I though itight help." He looked around for a moment, a smile crossing his features. "Ready, dearest?" He asked, lacing their hands together and pressing a kiss to Connor's
Connor listened to Jas explain and a big smile grew onto his face. "You're such a sweet kitty." He kissed his forehead, raising his heels to do so. He thought it wasn't possible for his smile to get any bigger but it did when Jas had kissed his hand. A small blush was spreading on his face from all of the emotions he was feeling. "Y-Yes, I'm ready." He gulped moving closer to Jas letting his head fall on his collar bone. "You sure are the king of pet names huh."
"thank you my heart, i do try my best with them." he laughed softly and wrapped a secure arm around Connir's waist. "You're safe my love." He reassured softly against his ear. He pressed a sweet kiss to the tender part behind Connor's ear before gently puling him backwards into a void. In less than a few moments, they were in his apartment, standing in the center of his bedroom. "Alright, let me grab some clothes and we can go to your house and rest." He promised, letting Connor go and finding a duffle bag in his closet. He pulled out a black button down and matching pants along with a set of fuzzy PJs
Connor nodded his head but frowned a bit when he was let go. He was too tired to think and all he wanted was to lay down with Jas and enjoy the night together. For right now he fell back on the bed and starred at the ceiling for a bit. He started to hum one of his favorite songs, sometimes mumbling the words and then going back to humming to keep himself awake. He would sometimes look over to Jas watching him pull out the clothes and walk around his bedroom. "That felt so weird to teleport with you and be right here in a matter of seconds. My insides feel a bit funny." he chuckled. "I can't believe you do that all the time."
He chuckled lightly and nodded "yeah, i've been told it's weird the first few times. Pretty sure I made Suni throw up the first time I teleported him around. I've been doing it for lives so I guess it's natural that I don't feel the effects." He shoved everything into a bag and slung it over his shoulder. "Think you can do it one more time?" He asked, tilting his head to the side with a tired grin, his arms outstretched. "Let's go home, sweetheart. I'm ready to sleep for days."
He gave a tired chuckled at the thought of his friend throwing up. "How long have you and Suni know each other? I feel like I asked you this question already, but I'm too tired to remember." Connor looked at him with a slight blush to his cheeks. That fact that he called him sweetheart and said "Let's go home" was enough to make his stomach turn in a good way. He sat up, almost falling into Jas's arms. He looked away out of embarrassment his ears turning a nice shade of pink. "Y-Yeah, I would like that." He hummed with a warm but very tired smile on his face. "I could sleep for days too, but I have to get up early in the morning because of work. I'll probably be gone before you even wake up."
Jas pressed a kiss to Connor's head and soothingly rubbed his back "I've known Suni for years now. I think since middle school. He was the one who testified before. We'll meet him tomorrow." He replied, pouting softly and pressing his face against Connor's neck. "You can't take a day off or something, just for tomorrow, please?" He begged, giving Connir his best pouting and puppy eyes, despite him being a cat. He sighed softly, knowing that Connor's job was important. "When you get back, we have to go somewhere before we meet with Suni and the others." He said softly, leading Connir into a walk towards the door.
Connor only hummed and said in a very raspy voice. "Jas, kitty….you know how much I would love to take a day off and be with you all day, but my job is very important whether I like it or not. But…I do like it when you're needy. You're very cute." Connor kissed Jas's nose softly. "Is it another surprise you prepared for me or can I know this time. I get to meet for friends tomorrow too?" He gave a tired cheer letting Jas lead him wherever.
He breathed a sigh at the kiss "I know, I know. And I would hate to keep you from it, even if it is one of my favorite firm's if entertainment." Has nuzzled his head against Connor's cheek, emmiting a soft out as he walked through the door, leading to a break in the words and soon appearing in the middle of Connor's bedroom. He rested his head on Connor's shoulder, shaking it slightly "you can know this time. He gently pulled Connor down into the bed, holding him close as he stretched out comfortable. "I'm going to visit Winston and I want you to come with me." He looked away from Cinnor for a moment "I know it's a weird, but it's something I need to do, before we keep going." He bit his lip and took a peek at Connor.
Connor gave a deep chuckle when Jas nuzzled his cheek. "That feels nice." He hummed. Connor wasn't exactly prepared for the jump when Jas did. It made him want to throw up. "Seriously how do you do that all the time." He managed to hold it in letting his stomach settle. He simply let jas do what he wanted as he snuggled up close to him the bed. He used Jas's chest as a pillow for his head. He was surprised at first, he wasn't mad or unhappy it took a while to process it because he understood. Connor nodded. "Okay." He said softly. "What do you mean by visit?"
Jas took in a wavering breath and pressed a kiss to Connor's head, grateful that Connor was at least willing. "We're going to his resting place." He replied softly, throat bobbing, suddenly finding it difficult to swallow normally. Jas never really shown many people where he had buried Winston, save for Suni. He never really liked to think that his dear husband permanently gone, especially when Jas unfairly got to live forever without him. But he made the effort to visit Winston every few months every life after, finding that, while the grief would always linger, it still felt as if he was still around Everytime he visited. "Is that alright? Or would you prefer not to. I can always pick you up later and go straight to Suni's." He said quickly, slightly sitting up so that he could better see Connor.
Connor shook his head. "It's more than okay. Anytime you need me I'll be there okay?" Connor sat up in front of him before he pressed a sweet kiss to Jas's lips. He gave a warm reassuring smile when he pulled away. He didn't want Jas to think he was uncomfortable with the idea. "Let's get some sleep, so when I wake up I can make you and me breakfast before I leave. After work, I'm all yours and we go visit Winston's resting place…" Connor took Jas's hand a pressed a soft kiss to it, "together okay?" He nuzzled in close to Jas once more tensing to get used to the heat and immediately relaxing in his arms.
"thank you my heart, you have no idea how much that means to me." He murmured, hugging Connor close to his chest and pressing a kiss to his head. "I can't wait to wake up to you everyday." He murmured sleepily, not bothering to change clothes as he tugged on the warm covers and rested his head against a pillow. "Hm'okay all mine sounds good." He smirked slightly pressed his face against Connor's cheek. "I love you. So so much. I hope you know that. No matter what I do or say, my heart belongs to you, as does every part of me." He muttered, words slurring together as he slowly let sleep tug at him. "Mm, my pretty bird."
Connor closed his eyes, listening to Jas's sweet words. "You're such a charmer aren't you." He stroked Jas's hair hoping it would help him fall asleep easier. "Since when am I a bird?" He whispered before dosing off to sleep. He wasn't kidding when he said he had to get up early in the morning. He woke up at about four in the morning. He was still tucked in Jas's arms when he awoke. He replaced his body with a pillow so hopefully Jas wouldn't wake up. He got dressed as quietly as possible. He made a quick breakfast for him and Jas for when he woke up. He left a note on the counter before exiting through the balcony.
"wings." He whispered, unable to keep himself awake, especially now that he was in Connor's bed and had Connor in his arms. In a matter of moments, he had fallen into a deep sleep, legs tangled with Connor's and hands splayed against his back, holding him flush against his own body. Even when Connor awoke, Jas was still fast asleep, though he did notice the change of what he was now hugging close. Even before he woke up, Jas knew Connot had gone long ago for work. In the late morning, Jas finally awoke with a huffed sigh, gently nudging aside the pillow he had been clutching for the latter half of the night. He sat up, a loud purr leaving him as he satisfyingly stretched out his limbs and took a chance to look around. He wandered into the kitchen and smiled softly, finding the breakfast along with the note left for him in the counter. He took the plate to the dining room table,, settling down as he read over the note.
Connor's day back was interesting. He had to test out things for the agency. The entire time his only thought was how Jas was doing. Of course, he did pay attention when he arrested criminals and people trying to blast him with ice, but even so, you could tell he was distracted. "I hope he likes the breakfast I made him…"
"Um are you talking to me?" The guy Connor was after was about to chop off someone's head if nothing was done about it.
"No you dimwit." Connor rolled his eyes and quickly arrested the male. "Seriously this is no fun, Jas does this better than you. Like, way better than you. Actually, I'm pretty sure I could do it better than you. Who waits to then ask the distracted hero if they're talking to you? Like why would they be talking to or about you?" He growled shoving the killer into the car. All of this however was open to the public, so everyone who was watching the news heard him say this. "No need to thank me!" He yelled and went off to do another mission that they had been working on for a long time. Connor was rushing considering he needed to be done by the time he was off call. He wanted to be there for Jas, if he wasn't done on time, that wouldn't happen.
After the wonderful breakfast, Jaz reluctantly wandered back over to Connor's bedroom to get ready for later. He set the duffle bag of clothes on the bed and started to get dressed. He was halfway buttoning up his black silk shirt when he heard a creak from the living room. Connor shouldn't be back by now… Jas thought, silently making his way over to the door and taking a small peek out. A slim silhouette sat on the balcony railing, fiery red hair toussled by the wind, devilishly handsome face turned up to watch the sky. Jas breathed a sigh of relief and slowly stepped out to the living room, buttoning up the rest of his shirt until he stopped by the balcony threshold.
"How's you find me?" Jas asked softly as a greeting, crossing his arms over his chest.
"A fox is always good at tracking. Besides, I figured with you finally being with Connor, it'd either be at your house or his." Suni replied, fmturning to look at his friends, this red lips turned down slightly instead of in their typically sharp smile. "How are you holding up?" He asked softly, lightly brushing a hand along Jas' cheek.
Jas shrugged and closed his eyes at the gentle touch. "As well as any other day our anniversary cones around." He said softly, wringing his hands together. While Jas did visit Winston nearly every month, somehow their anniversary brought in a whole new whirlwind of sadness to Jas.
Suni's brows turned up in sadness and gently embraced his friend. "Want me to come with or is Win not fond of fox's?" Suni's asked, trying to lighten Jas' spirits a bit. It seemed to work since jas have a small smile. "He likes you. But no, Connor's coming this time."
Suni's nodded "so your current live is finally meeting your past love." Suni's mused. "Kinda odd, no? Think he'll get jelous?"
Jas shrugged and settled on the couch. "I'm not sure to be honest. I don't think there's anything to be jelous of. I have my life with Winston." He fell silent for a moment and glanced away. "And while I do miss that life immensely and would do anything to get him back, I'm starting a life with Connor, and I wouldn't change that for the world."
Once Connor was done with the mission he was given, he rushed out of the building. Although he took his time getting home. He was worried about Jas and how he would feel about today. He remembers how sorrowful he was yesterday so today could be even harder on him. He wasn't really paying attention to the world moving around him as he stayed trapped in his thoughts. His eyes were glued to the floor as he would rick rocks and pebbles in his way. Once he got back he simply used his wings to fly up to the balcony quickly putting them away. While he walked in he had his eyes closed before he was moving his hair around. Once his eyes were open he realized that he had stepped into a conversation he wasn't supposed to hear. He looked between Jas and Suni with curiosity. "Sorry, I probably just ruined a very important conversation huh. I can leave…if you want to continue…I 'll probably just go take a stroll or something." He gave a nervous smile, still looking very awkwardly between the two. He was confused why Suni even got into his place, why Jas was still there, and why Suni was so casual about sneaking into someone else's home. * I mean he is a criminal.* He tilted his head for a second finding his reason reasonable.
"yes." Suni said, eyes narrowed and sharp teeth barred as he snapped his head towards the sound of Connir's voice. Jas gave him friend a warning glare as he stood from the couch. "No, love. You didn't." He said softly. "Please stay, we were just talking," has flicked his gaze up to Connor's "a-about today." He continued, breathing in a sigh. He waved to Suni, motioning him forwards. "Connor this is Suni, Suni thi-"
"I know who he is, feline." Suni said gently, offering Connor his hand to shake. "You're the one who holds our dear kitty's heart." He gave a grin, ever the charmer. "Ah, sorry about trespassing, probably not the best way to make a first impression." He snickered and glanced over his shoulder at Jas, his smile faltering slightly. "Take care of him, Connor. He needs it." He muttered softly.
Connor looked at Jas then back to Suni. I thought I was the one who called him that. He shook his hand not wanting to be rude. "I'll be sure to take care of him. Then again he takes care of me just as much. I've heard a lot about you so it's nice to put a face to the name. Of course, I am wondering how you got into my place, but as long as Jas was here I wasn't that worried." Connor looked up at Jas with a soft expression. "Ready to go?" He took Jas's hands interlocking their fingers. He rubbed his thumb back and forth on the back of Jas's hand.
"balcony." Suni replied with a shrug of his thin shoulders, taking a step back. "Well then, I'll make myself scarce. It was nice finally meeting you Connor. He offered a gentler smile before hugging Jas and making his way to the door. "I'll see you both tomorrow." He said in departure, closing the door behind him with a soft click.
Jas smiled softly at his friend before glancing at Connor and gently pulling him into a much needed hug. "Sorry about him, Sunincan be a bit much." He murmured, pressing a kiss to Connir's brow and nodding. He gave their interlocked hands a gentle squeeze. "Yeah, I'm ready."
I mean yeah, but I have doors… Connor huffed happily giving into Jas's embrace. "I don't mind some friends are like that and that's fine. I mean it would have to be if you two are close friends right?" He gave him a quick kiss on the forehead before releasing the hug. "Are we teleporting there or are well walking? About earlier, I heard some of the conversation and I do get jealous but not of someone who could make you happy. Also someone who cared for you so much when all I did was hurt you. You don't have to worry with that kind of thing. I feel like if I were to get jealous it would be wrong, he's passed on and it would just feel wrong t hate someone for loving you, you know?"
"let's walk, it's not too far from here." He replied softly, glad that Connor understood Suni and his relationship. It would have taken ages for him to explain to anyone else that they weren't together. Suni had no interest in a relationship with anyone and Jas had no interest in having a relationship with him. They thought of each other as brothers more than friends.
Has tilted his head slightly, ears flicking curiously. Ah so he had heard that. Jas breathed a sigh, ready to explain why Connor had no reason to be jelous, but he didn't have to. He smiled softly and pressed a gentle kiss to Connor's nose. "I know what you mean, love. Honestly I have countless if times I could tell where I've been jelous of you and partner at some point or another. I would understand if you felt the same." He lightly brushed a hand along Connor's cheek "but thank you."
"No need to thank me, kitty."Connor scrunched his nose out of reflex from the kiss. "Lead the way…" Connor nudged Jas to start walking. Even though he said those things he couldn't help the part of him that was slightly jealous. He had no reason or right to be, but he was and it made him angry at himself for feeling that way. "So how are you doing today? I know today things could be hard and I hated leaving you alone too. How about instead of seeing your friends today, we can just go back to your apartment or mine, whichever, after we visit Winston?" He suggested. "unless you still want to see your friends today."
Jas nodded slightly and lead Connor towards the door, this time not appearing anywhere new other than the building hallway. "I'm mostly okay. I'm used to it by now but," he shrugged and shook his head, embarrassed for being sad over his late husband's death, even after so many lives. "I always get like this around our anniversary." He glanced up and quickly shook his head "no my love, please don't feel bad. You have your job and life. I don't expect you to drop everything just because we're together now." He reassured, lightly brushing his thumb along Connor's hand. He flinched at the mention of seeing his friend and sighed "mind if we see them tomorrow? I'm not sure I'll be up for all the 'I'm sorrys' and looks of sympathy." He said softly. It wasn't up until very recently that he had friends who understood his situation, that he had people feel anything towards him other than hatred. He was extremely grateful for that but it still made him feel weird when others brought up his past and try to connect with him, even if they couldn't start fathoming more than one life lived
"Everyone goes through their own shit once in a while," Connor said softly. The day felt mawkish and the skies were darker than they were yesterday. Similar to the mood they both shared. He gave Jas's hand a reassuring squeeze. "Okay, then after we'll just go back and I can make you some food." He flashes a smile before he looked at the ground. He was watching his feet and trying to get his feet to make a certain rhythm. If there was one thing Connor could do it was dealing with other people's sadness or feel sympathetic for them. It was hard because he never got emotionally attached to people. He knew that making jokes wouldn't help but he didn't know how to do anything else. He pursed his lips together and furrowed his eyebrows.
Jas let a smile settle on his lips as he walk with Connor. "I'd love that, thank you sweetheart." He pressed a kiss to Connor's temple. He gently nuzzled his head "tell me about your day, dearest. How was your day back?" He asked with a tilt of his head. Has lead them through the city, opting for the shorter rout than the normal he usually took. "Surely it couldn't have been that fun, since I wasn't there." He grinned gently pressed a kiss to their linked hands. "Who knows, maybe I'll drop by every once in while." He winked and glanced up as they reached a park, merging the city with the forest.
Connor looked up to him and a slight laugh and a smile. His voice was energetic and crystal clear as he spoke. "It was horrible. I've never seen worse villains in my life. They were so predictable. I was talking to myself distracted and they stood there and said, 'are you talking to me?'" he imitated the villain's voice and body language. "He was about to cut off someone's head and he just took the time to stop and ask me if I was talking to him. Once I captured him I told him that today was so boring because of people like him. Then I told him I could be a better villain than him. Then I realized I was on live tv. But…" he slowed. "Because you weren't there it did feel really boring. I did manage to get info on a guy I had been tracking down for ages. He's the one who started to blow up buildings a couple of weeks ago. They were all so random. The weird part is his attacks are getting close to where we live or around there. So, just be careful. Besides that everything was pretty calm in the industry today. Remember those two people kissing on the mats in the training room I told you about. I think they're dating down because they seem to be very attached to each other.Has Suni ever met with the chef there yet. I told him someone might be interested in him and now he gets distracted a lot. It's like high school all over again." he giggled softly. He looked at his surrounding with a small smile spreading on his face, but then is disappeared once he realized why they were here.
"is that so my live? You can be a better villain?" He chuckled lightly and carefully helped Connor over a fallen tree. "He must have been really bad if your a better villain, sweet creature. He tilted his head, green eyes narrowing as Connir told him about the recent events. "Hm, I'll warm Suni an dthe others tomorrow. And of course I'll be careful. But you must do the same. I know you're a hero and all but please, I beg if you, stay safe." He glanced around, ears perking up at every sound around them. "I couldn't have guessed, they certainly were subtle with their show of affection." He replied sarcastically, lightly pushing aside leaves. "No but I've been telling him about them. He seems pretty interested, at least far more interested than in anyone else I've seen Suni introduced to as a potential lover." He chuckled lightly and gently squeezed Connor's hand, seeing his face fall and slowly doing the same as slowly remembered why Jas was bringing Connor here. "We're almost there."
"I'm just saying. Of course, I'll be safe Kitty. I may be reckless, but I'm only reckless with you." Connor gave a soft smile before he nodded slowly. "Okay." He hummed. "Tell me about your day today. I know you probably didn't do much, but I still would like to know. Like if you liked the breakfast I made you. Then again it wasn't much. It was just eggs and bacon. I know you probably eat more than that. I know I definitely eat more than that…" The place they were going to seemed to have had some damage but wasn't fixed. He looked at the clouds as they started to get darker. "I think it might start to rain soon," he mumbled. He placed his hand out, with his palm facing the air. "Nohting yet though." he said softly looking at his dry hand almost studying the unique pattern of his hand. He shrugged and went back to being silent.
