"I- um, thank you." Apollo replied in a light tone, not sure how to take it. It could very well just be a compliment. But it could also be more. Though in light of not getting his hopes up, he dropped the thought and continued to sort out the green M&Ms. "You're pretty cute yourself. It'd surprise me if you said you didn't have a boyfriend… or girlfriend. Whoever you're into."
"I like guys and I actually don't have a boyfriend," She admitted, shrugging with a half-smile, "I've never had one." Davina pushed the green M&Ms out of her pile and into his, a faint blush on her cheeks again, "What about you? You have a girl or guy you're in a relationship with?" In her mind she knew he most likely had one, it would be stupid to assume he didn't, but at the same time, she hoped he didn't, if only so she had a chance at seeing if her feelings towards him were reciprocated.
"Really? Like I said, that surprises me." Apollo hummed lightly, taking note Davina's question. "Not currently, actually. I had a girlfriend a little while ago… but that didn't really work out." He shrugged a little as a smile pulled up. He didn't want to talk about his ex-girlfriend too much, as he felt it was kind of defeating the purpose of bringing this subject up. She might think something that wasn't true. "But it's in the past. She's kind of mad at me for being so alright with us breaking up."
"Why did you break up?" She asked, quickly adding, "If you want to tell me that is. If you don't that's fine too." Davina wasn't surprised to hear that he had been in a relationship before, but she was curious as to why it had ended. After all, Apollo was a really nice guy and seemed like he would make a very sweet boyfriend even if he was confined to the hospital.
"Misunderstandings. She was super clingy, and always assumed the worst from me. She never really trusted me." Apollo shrugged a little, not seeming bothered too bad by her questions. As long as Davina wasn't bugged by this, he didn't mind talking about it. With her asking question, he assumed it didn't bug her too bad. "I had this girl I was friends with, and my girlfriend at the time thought I was cheating on her, with my friend. There was no real reason behind her assumption. I'd never done anything similar, before."
(Ok, I'm going to let you know (Even if I know it sounds like a major excuse), I'm working two jobs over these next two weeks so my replies might be more infrequent, but I promise I don't want this to die and I'll try to reply at least once a day :) )
Davina nodded, listening carefully. "I'm honestly surprised that some people always assume the worst or have so little faith in the person they're with," She said, shaking her head and smiling over at Apollo, "I hope your ex knows she's missing a really amazing person." Even if she had never been in a relationship with Apollo, and probably would never seeing as he probably didn't like her, she knew he was amazing.
(It's all good! I'm totally cool about it. If you want to put this on hold, until then, that's also fine with me! I'm flexible, if there's something that would work best for you, just let me know!)
Apollo shrugged a little, pushing all the green M&Ms to her. "I dunno. I got over it a while ago; she was always so controlling. It was so nice to get a break from her. I'm not sure I could go back." Giving Davina a light smile, he picked at the rest of his candy pile, eating slowly. "You said the green were your favorite." He added on in a light tone.
(We don't have to put this on hold, I'd be happy to continue even if I'm going to be less active :D)
She smiled, flushing at his added words and pulling the candies into her pile. "You remembered that?" She asked quietly, surprised that he had done something as simple as given her the green M&Ms that she loved. Davina picked through her own, separating the blues from her pile and pushing them towards him, "You liked the blue ones if I remember right."
(Alrighty, then! I just thought I'd offer :3)
"Of course I remembered." Apollo hummed, giving her a bright smile. When she offered him the blue ones, he took them gratefully and put them with the rest of his blues. "We're friends, right? It's silly, but the small things matter the most. In my opinion at least." Pushing his curls back out of his face, he glanced up to her. "And yeah- the blues are my favorite ones."
"Obviously we're friends," She replied, smiling just as brightly even as she admitted, "I haven't really had anyone in my life who goes out of their way to do the little things, but I agree they matter just as much as anything else." Davina glanced over at him, finding herself studying his face again and getting lost in his gree-blue eyes.
Apollo smiled warmly, his gaze scanning the top of the fort. He didn't really realize she was starring, not wanting to stare at her, himself. "Well, now you've got me." He started, turning his eyes back on her. "It'll be easier, considering we're the only ones here. So, is there anything interesting about you, that you haven't told me yet?"
Her face flushed as she finally looked away, shrugging with a smile, "I suppose there is, but do you want to learn more about me?" Davina shifted with a sigh, rolling onto her back and looking backwards at him so he was upside down. She seemed happy to be in the fort and just talking with him, it was something to do and she wouldn't complain about learning more about him.
Apollo laughed lightly, tipping his head to the side in attempt to see her the right way. "I asked, didn't I?" He hummed, keeping up a smile as he spoke. "I'd love to hear what you've got. I like learning things about people. Especially people I want to get closer to." Humming lightly, he continued to pick at his M&Ms. The fact he had just confessed that to her, didn't really seem to click.
"Well, I want to get closer to you too," She replied, also quite oblivious to what she had just admitted to Apollo, "So, how about for every time I tell you something about myself, you tell me one thing about yourself?" Davina smiled, popping in her few remaining M&Ms and making no effort to spin back around.
Apollo smiled brightly, reaching up to twist one of his curls around his finger. "That works for me. I'll just have to come up with something. Shouldn't be too hard, at least." Dropping his hands back in his lap he let a soft smile creep up as he waited. There were so many things he was expecting her to say, but wasn't sure if they were actually true. It was strange how quickly his mind was running with thoughts.
"I'll start off simple." She smiled and was silent for little more than a moment before starting off, "I absolutely hate horror movies, and I know how to find almost every constellation in a night sky." Davina finally rolled onto her stomach, an excited look in her eyes, "Now two things from you, magic boy?"
"Hmm…" Apollo trailed off, biting on the tip of his thumb in thought. "Oh, I know. I play the mandolin, and I'd say I'm quite good at it. Also, I love picking out color palettes and getting to paint with them." Folding his hands in his lap he let a smile pull up. Just thinking about it made him the slightest bit happier. "I could have worded that better, but I don't know how to. Your turn."
She thought for another minute, then smiled, "I've never tried to play any instrument besides a recorder, and when I wasn't sick, I could do both a handstand and a front flip." Davina shrugged, trying not to think about how much weight and muscle she had lost because of being sick. Even just walking around for too long now was difficult. "Your turn again."
A slight smile pulled up, and Apollo picked up his last few M&Ms. "Unlike you, I'm incredibly unskilled in athletics or gymnastics. I can barely touch my toes- even before getting sick." He laughed lightly, leaning back against the frame of the bed. Not having much clue what to do next, he picked something pretty basic. "My favorite book, is probably The Great Gatsby."
“Is that one any good? I’ve never read it,”Davina admitted, smiling in curiosity, “I don’t have a favorite book but there are some that I loved. I’m a pretty bad swimmer, and I’ve always wanted to have a pet cat if I could.” She pulled the blanket over her and smiled, not cold but just needing something to do.
"I think so at least… but a cat? What kind of cat?" Apollo hummed, seeming quite interested when she mentioned a cat. After a couple of seconds, he realized it was his turn to speak. "Oh- um… I have very aggressive hiccups. Whenever I get them, they drive me crazy. I also have terrible hand-eye coordination."
"Any that I could get, any pattern or breed." Davina listened intently, cracking an amused smile at the mention of his hiccups, "I'll have to make sure that you don't drink anything too fast then, don't need those hiccups following you all day. As for my things, I'm allergic to bees and I always sneeze three times when I have to sneeze. I have no clue why either." She nodded to him again, messing with the blanket and trying to think of more interesting things about herself.
"I honestly hate getting the hiccups. They drive me crazy." Apollo laughed lightly, clicking his tongue a bit in thought. He wasn't really sure what else he could say. Not that what he had said was very interesting, but he didn't really have anything abnormal at the moment. "Um… I'm running out of things. I bruise pretty easily. I'm like a peach- or so my aunt says. To go off of that, my aunt use to call me peachy."
Davina smiled in agreement, picking at the blanket surrounding her, "I'm out of things too, at least for the moment. I'm a pretty boring person." She shrugged, snuggling further into the blankets and looking up at the sheet that was serving as their roof, "What's your favorite animated movie?"
"Favorite animated movie?" Apollo asked lightly, feeling a light flush come up on his face. "Well… it probably sounds silly, but I really liked Frozen for a while. But I also really liked The Little Mermaid growing up. My brother always teased me about it- always calling me a Disney princess at heart."
