"Even if this is a dream, I'm sure I'd still like you," She assured him quietly, squeezing his hand and smiling, "This has to be real, I don't think we're dreaming." Davina knew her face was still bright red, but she knew it was fading as she became more comfortable with the idea of him actually liking her. It was going to take a while for her to actually wrap her mind fully around that fact, but for now, she was just relieved that he both hadn't made fun of her and instead actually liked her as well.
(I'm so sorry that I keep disappearing, I promise I will try to be better about responding)
"Mm, I agree. I mean, it feels really real. And the fact we were just talking about something that just happened kinda makes me believe it's real." Apollo mumbled, laying back on the floor with a steady sigh. His eyes lit up some as he glanced over to her, his cheeks still glowing a soft pink. "It feels really good to get that off my chest. Like, I don't have to worry anymore." He hummed, hesitantly reaching out a hand to hold onto one of hers. "Now I know… and, well it feels great. I just can't get over it- and yeah, I know you said it just a minute ago, but still… I really need to stop rambling. I- um, I'll be quiet now."
(It's ok, I'm getting swamped in school so I'm quite inactive these days too)
She couldn't seem to shake her smile off of her face, looking over at him. Gently, she squeezed his hand, humming softly, "I get what you mean..I've been holding that in for way too long." It still felt like a dream to her, the idea that Apollo still liked her back and he wasn't just joking. She went quiet for a moment, then asked, her cheeks turning a bright pink color, "Is it weird to ask if I can nap next to you again after all of this? I mean, I get it if it's weird now..but it's comfy. I don't want to make you uncomfortable or anything…"
Apollo looked up at her, his smile only growing as the flush on his face came back. "I'm fine with it, you don't really even need to ask. I'm comfortable too." He chuckled, seeming to grow more relaxed the more they talked to each other. He kept a firm hold on her hand as they laid there, the giddy look on his face remaining as he studied her face. "I mean, it's nice to get to be near someone. It's been too long without people… I kinda need that warmth you know?" He asked softly, resting his head on her shoulder.
Davina hesitantly snuggled up next to him as she got permission, nervous but almost sinking against him. It felt perfect to be next to him, and when he laid his head on her shoulder, she was sure this was all a dream. Gently, she smiled and nodded, wrapping her free arm around him as she settled in further, eyes fluttering closed. "I miss being able to just…hug someone, or even just snuggle up with someone like this…I miss it." It would be a while before she really fell asleep, but at least she was comfortable like this, and it gave her a chance to sort out her feelings.
(Hey, I just wanted to apologize for my lack of responses. It’s been a really busy week, and still going to be busier until about March. I probably won’t respond much for the rest of the week.)
(Hey no problem, I’m going into an extremely busy part of the year too, so my responses are going to be sporadic. Take all the time you need)
(Again, I want to apologize for being so busy. Motivation has been at an all-time low,,, thank you for being so understanding about it)
"Well, I'm always up for a hug. It's nice to have someone you can just… be affectionate to. Y'know?" He hummed a bit, his thoughts trailing as he spoke to her. He was so out of it, that he wasn't even thinking about the fact he had a girl basically wrapped around him. His brother would tease him immensely if he could see him now. All the while with good intentions behind it. He wasn't that mean to him at least. "A lot of people don't seem to like it, so to know someone does, is just a really good feeling."
(I totally get it no problem, I'm working through a major bout of writers block myself so I totally get it)
"I get that…" She hummed softly, nodding halfheartedly. She was more than comfortable with him, and it was growing much harder to fight the feelings of comfort and the whispers of more sleep that her weak body craved. It wouldn't be good for any of the nurses to find them like this, but she was so tired, and it felt so good to be laying with him. Davina nuzzled her face against him and let out a soft sigh, "If you ever want to…I'm always up for hugs too…they make me feel safe, and they pull me back together in a sense."
(Glad I'm not the only one aha, but now that school is almost done, I'm about to have a lot more motivation and freedom haha.)
"Well then it looks like hugs are in order." Apollo chuckled, resting his head on hers for a bit. As the silence remained, he felt the heavy pull of sleep on him. He was practically out within five minutes of laying there, brain going numb as he tried to form words to talk with her. But the tiredness was too strong, and he was already weak as is. How badly he needed sleep, to try to heal, but he didn't want it. He wanted to talk to her for hours, and was making the argument he didn't need more sleep because he had just slept. "Mm… we need to clean up..?" He asked softly, not making an attempt to move.
"Later…we can clean up later," She barely whispered in return, sleep pulling her too heavily for her to do anything more than that. Cleaning up could come later, right now she needed sleep. Her hand grabbed onto Apollo's shirt as she fell asleep, holding onto it like a blanket as she let herself slip away from reality.
Apollo wasn't far behind, his dreams more tolerable than they had been over the past few weeks. They weren't the best, nowhere near as peaceful as earlier, but definitely much better than they could have been.
Maybe it was the soft whispers or the fact he had already slept for who knows how long, but Apollo woke with a start. He was sitting bolt upright, Davina still wrapped around his waist. He wasn't frightened, merely energized for a moment. Slowly the adrenaline died down and he peered out of the curtains of the fort, watching two doctors converse from within the room.
Silently, if he hadn't already done so with his sudden surge of energy, he shook Davina until she seemed to stir. Pointing out to the adults, he gave her a warning look in hopes she understood. He wasn't sure if they were in trouble or not, so he didn't want to push anything more than they may already have.
Davina slept soundly, her dreams less bothered than they had been in weeks. She felt like she could sleep forever, that was, until she felt Apollo shake her awake. "Hm?" She mumbled, opening her eyes and looking up at him. She was half-asleep, but even she could see that he was wide awake, and nervous, or at least worried about something.
Following where he pointed, her eyes widened when she heard voices in their room, and she was instantly woken up just as much as he was. She wasn't sure what they were saying, but she could hear mentions of them, and words about something about another room. Were they in trouble about something? She looked to him, untangling herself from him and staying silent, worried that if she said something, they would be in even more trouble.
