Cameron smiled as she pressed against him, pressing more kisses to her neck and jaw in response for his. He loved the little kisses they gave each other before going to bed. "It will be great. All in the warm sun and on the hot sand… the beautiful cold water…" He shut his eyes, too, leaning his head against hers with a soft sigh.
“The smell of the water as we walk out onto the beach, that gorgeous view from the living room window, watching the sunset from the porch.” Ava sighs, thrilled that he’s agreed to go with her. The beach has always been one of her favorite places and the Fiji beach house is just amazing. She kisses his cheek once more before settling down and nestling up against him.
"Mmm… that sounds amazing," He just murmured, not able to give any more to the vision they had set up together. "It will be so pretty." He pressed another kiss to her neck and relaxed against her, pulling her a bit closer with a small yawn.
Yawning, she decides that fighting to stay awake at this point would be futile. It's been a long and crazy day so getting some rest would do her some good. "Goodnight, Cameron," She murmurs sleepily. Shortly after that she's sound asleep.
"Goodnight, Ava," He responded softly, already on his way to sleep.
It was the next morning, and both of them were woken up by two hungry puppies who also needed to pee. Cameron stirred from around Ava and sat up slowly, stretching his arms with a soft noise as Zore and Rose attacked his chest and lap.
A wet nose pressing up against her cheek is what ultimately wakes her up. Groaning, she cracks her eyes open and looks over to the source of the rude wake up call. "Kreja, you're an ass," She grumbles, gently pushing his muzzle away before sitting up. This earns her a few licks to the cheek.
Cameron picked up the pair of puppies and scooted across the bed, stretching his legs out with a big yawn. He set them down on the ground and put on a shirt before putting on his big, fuzzy coat and a pair of slip-on boots he also brought (the heavy ones he was wearing earlier were tie-ons if that makes sense). He called for Kreja and went downstairs, to be pleasantly surprised by his father making breakfast.
"Отец, тебе не нужно готовить еду для нас," He said gently as he passed.
Ava scoots Kreja to the other side of the bed before getting up. Grabbing a pair of jeans and a thick sweater, she changes out of her pajamas and into the warm clothing. Rather than heading right downstairs, she takes a few minutes to wrestle her hair into a braid, put on a small bit of makeup, and completes the rest of her morning routine. Only then does she join Cameron and the dogs downstairs. Kreja is still half asleep but the smell of food motivates him to actually get up.
"Нет, нет, все в порядке. Доброе утро!" His father called back to them as they both woke up. Cameron put some food in their bowls and got some makeshift booties and a blanket to drape over them. He didn't want his puppies to freeze.
And it seemed to work when he took out Zore, who took a bit to find a place to pee and poo, but still did it. Rose took longer in the wintery morning, hopping around and getting snow all over the blanket he put on her back.
"Доброе утро!" Ava calls out to Lachlan, offering a small smile. She dumps some food into the remaining dog bowl before grabbing some booties, a belt, and a thick blanket for Kreja. While he eats, she gets the booties on him and uses the belt to secure the blanket around his body. "Ne gledaj me tako. Ja ne kontroliram snijeg." Clipping his leash to his collar, she leads the less than enthusiast dog outside and into the snow. "Hajde, prijatelju. Možemo se vratiti unutra kad završiš. Samo požurite." Walking Kreja around the yard proves to be a tedious task and she swears that he's taking his time just to get back at her for the booties. Once he does his business, she practically drags him inside so they can get warm again.
Cameron was relaxing on the front step, allowing Rose as much time as she wanted. He looked up at her when she started angrily yelling at Kreja, chuckling.
"I could've taken him out, you know," He said pointedly with a slight grin on his face. "Plus I think we could get those booties and real sweaters today. I know a nice store near here that we can use our credit cards at."
"Radiš ovo da bi bio govno, zar ne?" Ava glares down at Kreja. It's not like she's actually mad at him but she wants him to know that she knows he's doing this on purpose. She steps onto the porch and huffs, puffing out her cheeks. "The freezing cold snow helped wake me up." Unfortunately she has snow in her shoes now so the wake up isn't fun. "If the store is inside and has heat than I think getting them some sweaters and booties is a wonderful idea."
"Oh, god, Ava, you are so grumpy," He hummed with a smile, quite liking the cold air ticking his cheeks and making his nose run. Once he noticed Rose pooed he tugged on her leash gently and called her over. The pup bumbled over and climbed up the steps, her tail wagging and covered in snow. He tugged her back and took off the blanket outside and cleaned off her legs, then hoisted her up into the house.
"I am not grumpy, I just don't like being a popsicle." She childishly sticks her tongue out at him before redirecting her attention to Kreja. Pulling off the blanket and booties, she sets them aside so they don't make mess in the house. "Hey, Roise Poise." The puppy looks adorable with the snow speckled in her fur. She leads Kreja inside and grabs a towel to get him dried off.
Cameron shut the door and rolled his eyes at her behind her back, dusting off Rose and humming. "Cutie girl. Cutie cutie cutie!" He cooed, and she approached him to give him a few kisses. He laughed and booped her snoot gently before standing up straight.
Ava scruffs Kreja's fur with the towel before setting him loose. At Cameron's baby talk to Rose, she can't help but snicker quietly. It killed her that he treats all of the dogs like actual babies or toddlers. She reaches down to pet the pup's soft fur.
Rose barked up at the pair of them, jumping around on the ground with her tail waggling excitedly. She bounded after Cameron who looked over to see what his dad was making. He was making syrniki, and fried egg and basil. Cameron made himself a cup of tea, smiling. Russia was a tea-drinking country, and it was so good to be back.
Ava wanders into the kitchen after a few more minutes. She's not sure if there's any coffee in the house so she just makes some tea and dumps a bunch of sugar in it. Taking a sip, she hums quietly. It's not too bad. The buzz of her disposable phone catches her attention. She checks her messages, figuring that it's probably from her father. She nearly chokes on her tea once she realizes what's going on. "Holy shit. Chris and Mallory are having twins. Both are boys."
Lachlan and Cameron were having a nice conversation over some berries being simmered when she interrupted them. He gently excused himself and turned to look at her, his eyebrows raised.
"Both are boys? Good god, they're gonna have a hell of a time." He laughed and looked back down to his father, continuing the conversation.
Ava barely acknowledges him, she's busy texting them back. "Those poor idiots," She murmurs to herself, shaking her head. Twin boys is going to be crazy and she feels bad for them. She hadn't even know that twins ran in either family. With a quiet sigh, she sits down on the couch and observes the ultrasound picture that was sent with the message. She can't even tell that the blurs are supposed to be babies.
Cameron rolled his eyes at her, then continued chatting with his dad, who was definitely acknowledging him in want of more news. He asked about Cormac and if there were any other children on the way, and Cameron simply explained that he and Ava hadn't discussed it, but there were children coming on her side of the family. He never really thought about having children with her. It was kind of daunting, thinking about her carrying his second child.
Ava answers the phone when it begins to ring. "Chris? Yeah, I saw the picture. They're adorable and I'm so happy for you and Mallory. Dad must be thrilled as well." The excitement in his tone just makes her smile. "Hold on, I'm getting another call." She quickly answers the second call, putting her brother on hold. "Hi, daddy! I know, I know." With a roll of her eyes she just adds her brother and father into one big group call. She doesn't manage to get another word in since the two are both so loud.
"Это все так громко, все это. С ребенком и волнением," Cameron commented with a sigh, cupping his cheek in his hand. "Я не знаю, чего она хочет. Детка или ничего?"
"Если она чего-то хочет, она скажет тебе, сын мой," Lachlan soothed him gently, smiling at him as he forked their breakfast out of the pan. "И вы тоже были шумными, когда ожидали своего первого сына."
"I love you both too. Okay, I will, I promise. Yeah, okay, bye." Ava hangs up, chuckling quietly. Tucking the phone away, she tries to wipe the smile off of her face. Having two new babies in the family is certainly going to be interesting. She gets up off of the couch and heads into the kitchen to join Cameron and Lachlan. "I don't remember the last time things were this frenzied."
Lachlan handed Cameron a plate, who hummed his thanks. Lachlan gave Ava a plate, too, and went to sit down with his own cup of tea and plate. Cameron relaxed into a seat and started to eat, humming happily and licking his lips.
"Babies are exciting for a family," Cameron just hummed.
