Cameron's dad stroked their small heads yet tried to give affection to everybody. He went back to Kreja at the soft bark, stroking his neck again with concern. He glanced at Ava and asked for their names in his first language, then realized she might not know Russian. He tried to stutter through his English, just glancing at her for help.
"Kreja, Zore, and Rose," Ava informs him with a gentle smile, pointing to each dog in turn. "Они немного сумасшедшие, но они все очень любящие." Her Russian is fluent so them communicating shouldn't be much of an issue. Reaching forward, she scruffs Kreja on the head. This earns her a lick to the hand and a crazed tail wag.
He nodded, and smiled brighter when she suddenly slipped into Russian. "Я люблю собак, они очень милые," He responded to her, petting Zore and stroking a white spot on her head. "Этот выглядит как цветок." Rose barked softly up at him and licked his fingers, as Zore whimpered for attention, her tail wagging.
Ava smiles softly at this. “Я люблю ее окраску. Она и ее сестра оба очень красивые.” Both of the pups are adorable and have such amazing coloring. She glances over to Kreja, chuckling when he shoves his head under the man’s arm in an attempt to get more attention.
He smiled warmly back at her and nodded. "Да. Они все очень красивые." He glanced down at Kreja with a laugh and ran a hand over his head, patting his thigh for him to come closer. He couldn't stretch too far.
Большое спасибо за то, что позволили нам быть здесь.“ She says, really appreciating that he’s letting them stay. An amused expression crosses her face as she watches the dogs.
Kreja nudges Rose and Zore off to the side so he can make room. Once he has a chance, he plops his head down on the man’s lap.
The small man just smiled at her and waved his hand, motioning to her that it was fine. He gasped as Rose almost slipped off of his lap and grabbed her gently, setting her on the table, where she whined. He laughed and put Zore up with her, where the girl just wagged her tail.
“Kreja, budi dobra prema sestrama.” Ava warns him lightly. She doesn’t want either of the pups to get hurt because of Kreja’s need for attention. Reaching out, she gently squishes his face, something that gets her a lick to the cheek. “Takav ljubomorni dječak.” She cooes, laughing.
"Что это за язык?" He asked, never have heard of it before. The older man looked quite curious. Zore and Rose decided to hop back down onto his lap, which made him smile and laugh all over again as he got puppy love.
Хорватский.“ Ava informs him, not surprised that he hasn’t heard of it, it’s not a well-known language. She glances over her shoulder, wondering where Cameron is. She doesn’t mind being alone with his father but he’s been gone longer than she expected.
Kreja barks and wags his entire body, stretching up to lick the man’s face. He has to fight for attention since Rose and Zore want some as well.
(I meant to ask earlier but what is Cameron’s dad’s name?)
(Umm I'm not entirely sure, I didn't decide. I wanted it to be a Scots name like Cameron's but idk.)
The older man grunted softly as he giggled at Kreja's big licks. Rose and Zore started to yap loudly into the silence of the house, tapping their small paws on the table and occasionally turning to nip each other for a spot on the table.
Cameron had found his room and started to unpack. He took off his shoes so he wasn't so noisy, just neatly setting clothes into dressers.
(Naming characters is hard so I get it. Let me know when you figure one out)
Ava smiles lovingly at the dogs. Their battle to get attention never ceases to amuse her. All three are spoiled rotten but act like they haven’t been pet in weeks. She steps over to the table and lightly taps her nails on the surface to get the attention of Rose and Zore.
Kreja is slowly trying to work his way fully into the man’s lap. He’s way too big to be successful but he’s not going to stop trying.
(I like Lachlan a lot, it sounds Russian-y and Scots too. So Lachlan.)
Lachlan laughed as he tried to support heavy Kreja on his thin lap. He wrapped his arms around the dog, peering over him with slight difficulty, watching Zore and Rose skitter away to Ava's tapping fingers. Zore sat down in front of her and Rose yapped noisily at the taps.
(Thats a pretty cool name)
Ava cooes and presses a kiss to Zore’s head. “Good girl.” It’s nice to see that some of the training is paying off. “Rose, sit,” She commands gently, gesturing for the pup to copy what her sister is doing. Glancing over, she blinks in surprise when she sees that Kreja has successfully climbed onto Lachlan’s lap. “Budite oprezni, moj lijepi dječače.”

Zore watched her expectantly for a treat, her nose moving back and forth as she sniffed for one. Rose continued her noisy yapping at her fingers, bending her nose to sniff for a treat before looking up at her, and slowly sitting at the command.
Lachlan didn't seem to mind the big dog. In fact, he seemed quite happy.
“We need to work on your loud mouth,” Ava laughs softly at Rose before pulling two small treats out of her pocket. It’s become a habit to keep at least a handful on her person at all times. “Take them gently.” She puts a treat in each hand before offering them to the pups.
Kreja yawns and curls up on the man’s lap, his tail wagging lazily. Now that the puppies are being entertained he can have all of the attention to himself.
Rose and Zore both leaned forward, but Rose more or less gobbled it up, while Zore grabbed it and ate it on the table, chewing it slowly. Rose already finished hers and was yapping loud for more, while Zore's little tail wagged a little as she finished up hers.
Lachlan leaned against the big dog, pressing his cheek into his soft fur. Kreja was so warm and fuzzy, the Russian man couldn't help but doze.
Ava turns away from Rose, ignoring her when she barks. This part is always hard but it’s necessary if the pup is going to learn to be quiet. She gently pets Zore on her head, quietly talking to her about nothing in particular in Croatian. It’s a lot to hope for but she’s wanting the puppies to understand commands in both English and Croatian. English is top priority though.
Kreja yawns and cuddles up against him, perfectly happy. Being this comfortable allows him to fall asleep quickly.
Zore rose her head as she was spoken to and given attention, wagging her tail a little more and pressing small kisses to her nose and cheeks. Rose whimpered and yelped, moving closer to sniffle Ava's cheek and nose for attention.
Ava smiles and kisses Zore’s fuzzy head. It breaks her heart to have to ignore Rose but she has to wait for the puppy to be quiet before she can love on her. “All you have to do is stop barking and yapping,” She murmurs, making sure that she’s not looking at Rose.
Zore tapped her feets on the table in her happiness, giving another lick to Ava's chin, and tilting her head to survey the sad whimpers and soft yaps of her sister. Rose sat again and scooted closer, whimpering but not quite quiet.
Ava forces herself to play with and to watch only Zore. Ignoring Rose’s sad whimpering is incredibly hard. She hated having to do this to Kreja when he was a pup but he luckily got the hang of it quickly so she didn’t have to ignore him for long. She’s hoping the case will be the same with Rose.
Zore seemed to be enjoying all of the extra attention, standing up on her paws and playing with Ava almost completely soundless apart from the softest of growls when she attacked her fingers. Rose whimpered and tried to join in the fun, but Zore wouldn't let her.
Ava wiggles her fingers in front of Zore, smiling when they get attacked. “You are so ferocious.” Tugging ever so lightly on the pup’s ear, she uses that as a distraction so she can have her other hand sets up on the table and tapping it. She had thought about training one of the pups to come on missions with her but she decided against it. Doing that would feel like she was replacing Kreja.
