“What’s wrong with my hair?” She asks with a small grin as she grabs onto her frizzy blonde braid. It could definitely use a good brushing. “I used to have a bird,” She comments absentmindedly after a moment. “Maia was a nightingale that I got when I was twelve. That’s actually part of the reason why my codename is what it is.”
Cameron listened with one ear tilted, glancing at her. "That's really nice. I would like to have a bird as a pet someday. Unfortunately as a kid I only had a cacti." He set the spoon into the sink and trotted into the living room, sitting in his usual spot with his coffee with a sigh.
“Having another bird would be nice,” Ava comments, momentarily lost in her thoughts. By the time she snaps back to reality, Cameron is already in the living room. She follows after him and claims one of the chairs. “Your parents wouldn’t let you have a pet? Mine were the same way but that didn’t stop me from sneaking animals into the house.”
"I don't think I wanted one, other than a dog, which we had. I had one hell of a time taking care of my cactus. And if I were angry I used the prickles as weapons," He said with a small laugh. "Of course they never got anywhere. But I really disliked my parents." He frowned a little.
“Wait, you seriously kept a catus as a pet?” She asks, a little bewildered as to why anyone would do that, especially if a dog is in the picture. Upon learning that he used the prickles as weapons, she laughs a little. “I’m sorry to hear that,” She says, watching his facial. Parents are a …..complicated subject to say the least.
Cameron shrugged off his memories but he still looked somewhat distracted. "It wasn't that bad. It would still be alive if I didn't move. So it's not like I had to grieve over it if it died."
“I guess that’s one way to look at it,” Ava murmurs, glancing down at her coffee. “You okay?” She asks a bit awkwardly. Glancing over to him, she can’t help but take notice of how distracted he seems.
"Yeah, I'm fine," He mumbled to his coffee, "just tired." He smiled a bit and took a sip of it to cover his face from her.
"If you say so," She comments with a small shrug. This isn't any of her business so she's not going to push it. She takes a few sips of her coffee, enjoying the sweet taste.
The room fell into silence as the pair sipped at their coffee, and Cameron was first to finish it. He set it down and leaned over to press a kiss to Lily's muzzle, giving a good scratch to Kreja good morning.
Kreja huffs quietly but doesn’t move when he gets scratched. Mornings really aren’t his think. Ava lightly shakes her head and chuckles at her dog’s reaction. “Such a lump,” She comments, her tone laced with affection.
Cameron chuckled softly and leaned against the pair of dogs. Lily sighed deeply and set her head down on Cam's lap.
"They're both lumps."
“Not for much longer. It’s time for our run,” Ava comments, standing. Kreja’s head shoots up when he hears the word run. “Give me five minutes to change and then we’re good to go buddy.”
Cameron sighed and gently grabbed his dog. He and Lily had suffered under the paws of an excited Kreja far too much for a month.
"Aye, I'll make breakfast then."
Ava gives a small wave of acknowledgment at his words before dropping her mug off in the kitchen sink and bounding up the stairs. Five minutes later, she returns wearing a pair of black shorts, a hot pink tank top, and matching blank and pink sneakers. She enters the kitchen, her high ponytail swinging behind her with every step.
Cameron had laid down, using Lily as a pillow, yawning widely. The pair was just about the opposite of Ava and her dog in the mornings, always willing for more sleep. Cameron threw his long legs over the side of the couch and stretched, looking up as she came down.
"So what should I have ready for when you come back?"
"Surprise me, I'm not picky," Ava tells him with a small shrug. Grabbing Kreja's leash off of the table, she rolls it up and stuff it into her pocket. She never uses it unless she has to. The dog bounds over to her and barks twice, his tail wagging excitedly. "Are you ready, my sweet little boy?" She cooes, leaning down to pet him on the head.
(Yeah. Should we throw some action in here?)
(Oh ye sure. Some like, action action or romance?)
(How about just the latter for now? I can't really think of any action action stuff.)
(Yeah, okay. Romance is good with me. Any ideas?)
(If you don't have any ideas right now, we could always try out the whole fake dating scenario or something like that)
(Oh shit sorry man I must have clicked and on and off of this. It was an accident, sorry. Hm what do you mean by fake dating?)
