"They should allow that. We can request a different aid everyday and more security measures." It'll be expensive but they'll be able to afford it. Any amount of money is worth putting an end to this.

“Call them now, we need to arrange something. And maybe keep his phone, Ava,” Cameron added, looking thoughtful as he flipped his egg. He would never think about sending his father to a retirement home, but hot damn Malcom needed to be in one.
"I was planning on it. They don't even allow personal phones where he's going." Ava pulls out her own phone and dials the number. The conversation with the woman from the home goes smoothly and soon Malcom Lacerta is registered as their newest patient.
“Nice, thanks for doing this, Ava,” Cameron hummed. “He’ll be going back and staying in America…” He sounded really happy. No more phone calls from him demanding them to get a divorce or have children… no more sudden self-invites…
"It needs to be done," Ava says with a small shrug. Things have gotten out of hand. She's just getting everything back to normal. "Now I have to break the news to Chris. He's not going to be very happy about my doing this without talking to him."
“If he doesn’t agree we’re gonna have to put him with your father, no questions asked,” Cameron joked meekly, sighing as he cracked more eggs. “How do you want your eggs, babe?”
"I'll send him a pie or something with an apology card. He has to get over it eventually." Ava rubs the back of her neck with a nervous laugh. "No eggs for me but thanks."
“Good idea. Also I'm making pancakes with the filling you like a lot so you eat.” He got started on the batter and the berry-filled filling, humming softly to himself. He was worried about his pup, but he wouldn’t let it take him over.
She smiles slightly at this. Though not very hungry, she'll make an exception for the berry filled pancakes. "Do you want me to do anything?" Over the years she's gotten a little better in the kitchen. She still shouldn't be left unsupervised but her cooking has become kind of edible.
“Nah, keep an eye on your dad and make sure those pills keep him asleep,” Cameron hummed back as he crushed more strawberries for the mix. He wasn’t entirely sure what type of berry was her favorite, so he added extra of everything. She seemed to absolutely die for that.
"He's not going to be waking up anytime soon between the concussion and the pills." Ava runs her fingers through Zore's fur as she glances over to the unconscious man on their kitchen floor. "I sent a message to Davy a little bit ago and he agreed to pick him up and fly him to the States in a few hours."
“If you think so. You can come in here and add sugar to this.” He stepped away to put another egg on the pan as he took off the first before it overcooked into an omelette. He cracked a second and hummed softly. “And that sounds great. When you’re done with that you can join us at the vet.”
She presses a quick kiss to Zore's head before getting up and heading over to the kitchen. Finding the sugar container, she scoops out what seems to be the appropriate amount. If she added too much then the pancakes will just have to be more sugary than usual. "It shouldn't take too long. Davy should be here within half an hour."
“Oh, so I could do the heavy lifting for you, then, love.” He prepared the dough, kneading it in his big hands as he kept an eye on the egg cooking on the stove, then glancing at her with a grin as she added way too much sugar. It’s what she wanted, and he offered her to make it How she liked it.
“Mmhm, you could do the hard part for me while I sit on the couch and drink some coffee.” She smiles over at him before dumping the sugar into the mixture. It’s a lot more than what the recipe calls for but she has the biggest sugar tooth in the world. “Anything else I need to do?” She’s always happy to help out in the kitchen as long as the tasks are simple.
“Maybe try and not add a lot of sugar?” He watched her out of the corner of his eye add another giant cup of sugar. “But it’s how you like it, so I’ll let it go,” He hummed with a warm laugh and a smile down at his dough. He started folding and ripping it off, forming little pockets.
“Hey, you told me to add the sugar but you didn’t specify how much sugar.” Laughing, she adds a dash more of sugar just to prove a point. She snags a blueberry from the container and pops it into her mouth, humming happily at the sweet burst of flavor. “Anything else besides cutting back on the sugar?”
“Mmm okay. You get to eat with mouthfuls of sugar. I’ll probably just crush more berries to try and fix your “mistake”.” He laughed at his use of air quotes, returning his hands to the pouches. “Can you grab me a spoon? I’m gonna be filling these pretty soon.”
“Let me have this. You know how bitchy I get with no sugar.” Shaking her head in amusement, she pulls out a spoon and hands it over to him. “Okay, I need some coffee now. Do you want me to fix you a cup?” Her day never goes quite right unless she has her daily dose of coffee with an excessive amount of creamer.
“Nah make me a cup of tea in the way you do, please. You make the best tea,” He hummed, flipping the egg and filling the little pastries as he hummed, swaying his hips in his spot in front of the stove.
“One cup of tea coming right up.” She pulls down the assorted tea box and selects one of the mint flavors. From there she constantly switches between getting her coffee fixed and making his tea. Multitasking makes it harder for her no to screw up either beverage from she somehow manages to get it done.
Cameron wondered idly if he should turn on some music as he got started on his task of making and filling the little pancakes and humming. He never often music as he cooked, but whenever he did it made it a pleasant morning.
“Should I play some music?”
Ava glances over her shoulder when she hears him. Music always makes their mornings nice. She moves across the kitchen to check on her father. The man is still out cold so she doubts music would wake him. With a small smile, she heads over to Cameron and sets his tea down on the counter.
“Music would be great.”
(Hello?)
Cameron moved to grab his tea and his phone, wondering what they should listen to as she left the room very briefly. He would have to play it quiet enough to not wake his own father, anyway.
“What should we listen to? Our playlist?” He checked his volume then proceeded to turn it down.
