“Yes, Artemis and Apollo are good names for the kittens. Maybe you can call one Hera or maybe Nyx or even Cerus, depending on the gender of the kitten. Personally, I like the names Cerus and Nyx a bit more. They just seem a bit cooler than the name Hera.”
"Yeah, I like the sound of Cerus and Nyx too. Plus Hera was a right fucking bitch." Oliana closed her eyes, again attempting to sleep. It wasn't working, but she was desperate to try and get to sleep.
Abigail nodded. “Mhm, Hera was a bitch. A horrible bitch.” She stood up from the ground with a little help from the counter. Without the help of the counter, she was sure she would fall a lot before even being able to stand up. She felt like she was drunk, a feeling Abigail hated.
"Um, are you feeling OK? With the Glitch, I mean. I know you have the temporary antidote, but you must still be in a bit of pain, right?"
Abigail stumbled toward the bed, sorta of ignoring Oliana’s question. She managed to at least be two feet away from the bed before collapsing on the ground. Moments of silence passed and Abigail finally realized that Oliana had asked her a question. “Feeling okay? I don’t know. I feel drunk. Pain on the other hand, I can manage it. Well, at least to some extent.”
"I suppose that makes sense. I would know in any case anyway, since the Glitch doesn't affect me the same way that it affects other people. As in, I can actually control it and it's a method of teleportation."
“Yeah, you can control it, while others can’t.” She said as she closed her eyes. Her World was just spinning around, not stopping. She hoped that something would knock her out, or she would be able to fall asleep.
"Not just control, but it's almost built into me. It's a part of me, a part that would leave a void if it wasn't there. Like your invisibility. If that was gone you wouldn't be the same Abigail. You wouldn't be Abigail at all."
Abigail shuddered at the though of nothing having her invisibility. Not being able to be herself. She saw and understood what Oliana was saying. To some people, somethings were important and gave them a reason to live, to others, well they really didn’t care. “You’re quite right.”
"God, life is really hard." She had a sudden idea. "Holdup. So we've already made the connection that it's me who is doing this. It can't be me me, or even a future me. So it has to be an alternate me. Maybe one who had a shitty life than me?"
“It would make the most sense in this case, because future you wouldn’t do this. Now, if alt you had something big that went on in her past, making her angry, or maybe just want to get revenge, then it would make sense for her to cause the glitch.”
"But we need to figure out what happened to her and why she decided to do this of all things. And why she decided to attack our universe instead of her own."
“Yep. But It’s going to take us time. And time isn’t something we have much of.” She paused and sighed. “You know, there’s the possibility that some apocalypse hit her universe, killing billions of people and leaving very few people. If that was that case, and if I was in her shoes, I would find a way to give the virus to some alternate universe.”
Oliana sighed, her brows furrowing. "I highly doubt that. From what I saw, she wasn't too much different to me. It seemed like her world was the same. Maybe a version of you exists as well."
“Maybe, but I doubt that.” She paused. “It should be very late by now. And I think you should at least try to get some sleep.” Abigail said as she got up from the cold, hard and rough ground.
"God, I wish. I could go back to my bed in my own apartment, but I feel like you may not want to be left alone. And I can tell you won't be happy on the ground."
“Oliana, if you’re worried about me, then let me tell you one thing. Don’t be. I’ll be fine. Plus, I’m not alone. I have my pets to keep me company. Now, you go get some sleep. You have a big day ahead of you.” Abigail said firmly.
"Are you sure? I don't want to leave and then you have an episode of it."
“I’m sure about it. Now go, before I get cranky and start yelling at you and insulting you. Good night, sleep well, don’t let the bedbug bite.” And with that, Abigail turned invisible and started roaming around the room.
"OK then." Oliana reluctantly glitched away, casting a soft glow across the room before it disappeared. She glitched to her home, the glow of her left on TV illuminating the room.
(Just saying, I remember that someone had taken this same idea to the Story Wars RP forums. She quit a few months ago, along with others, and this just gives me flashbacks. Sorry if it wasn't open for stalking, but this gives me memories.)
(um….OK? Could I ask what the title was? I'd like to see what you mean)
Abigail stopped what she was doing and sat on the edge of the bed. She stared into the darkness for awhile until her eyes closed. She didn’t even noticed that she fell asleep sitting on the edge of the bed. The only witnesses were her dogs. And it wasn’t like her dogs would magically get the ability to speak.
As soon as Oliana had a moment to breath, she collapsed on the floor in sobs. She was overwhelmed, far more than she'd ever been before. She reached for her phone and sent a sent an emergency text to her dad.
She fell forwards. Obviously. Her dogs just lifted their heads up when it happened, but besides that, didn’t do nothing else. To anyone outside her room-like-prison, it would seem that Abigail was dead. She wasn’t moving, not one bit. Her dogs didn’t really care. They had seen this happened before.
