Lucas showed Ashley a hamster onesie, grinning.
“How about we get Eden this?” He asked, chuckling. “She absolutely adores hamsters, and just imagine having ‘auntie’ written on it? And we could get a snake onesie for Sterling! Kind of like hamster and the snake?”
Ashley furrowed her eyebrows at the onesie and shook her head. “It’s cute, but weren’t we going to put ‘Auntie’ and ‘Uncle’ on a shirt with the ultrasound picture?” she reminded him gently. “Also, I had a cute idea for the onesie if you want to hear it.”
Lucas’s mouth formed an ‘oh’.
“Oh, right, I forgot,” he blinked before shaking his head. “What’s your idea?”
“So, I’m thinking that we get a white onesie — or whatever color we decide on — and put the ultrasound picture on it with the words ‘Coming to a couple near you this June’ above it,” Ashley explained, grinning as she imagined it.
Lucas thought over it before grinning.
“That sounds fantastic!” He exclaimed. “Gosh, you have such great ideas. I’m impressed, Ash.”
Ashley’s smile widened as he agreed to her idea. “Really? Great! We should get everything ordered now, so it doesn’t come too late.”
“Where do you want it done?” Lucas asked her. “Should we do it today?”
“We could just order it online,” Ashley suggested with a shrug. “I know there are a few good websites that’ll do it. And, yeah, today sounds good.”
“All right,” Lucas nodded. “Is there anything else that we need?”
Ashley hummed in thought before shaking her head slowly. “No, I think that’s all… Ooh, unless we want to put a bunch of glitter in there for an extra surprise,” she chuckled.

Lucas laughed.
“Sounds perfect!” He wrapped an arm around Ashley. “They’re really going to be surprised.”
Ashley leaned into him and pecked his lips quickly. “I would pay to see the looks in their faces when they open the box. I hope Sterling will actually record them. That would be hilarious.”
(I totally just had the weirdest sense of deja vu while writing that…)

Lucas furrowed his eyebrows.
“But then only Eden would be sprinkled with glitter…” he muttered, but mostly to himself. “And he probably wouldn’t share the video… or would he?”
“We could have him call us on the video chat?” Ashley suggested with a shrug. “And Eden wouldn’t necessarily be covered in glitter… Maybe they could set the phone up on something and they could both open the box together?”
“I like the video call idea better,” Lucas said. “We could track the package and have them call us, and then we can see their reaction live.”
(Tbh, that’s what my brother did on my birthday. XD)
Ashley smiled up at him excitedly. "This is going to be awesome. They're going to be so shocked."
“I’m pretty sure Eden would want to drop everything and get to us,” Lucas joked, shaking his head as he talked about his little sister. “Our circle feels so empty without her…”
Ashley hummed her agreement, nodding slowly. "It does… But we'll eventually make new friends and get to know them. Not that they'll ever take her place because who could possibly do that?" she chuckled.
“Of course not,” Lucas scoffed. “It’s blasphemy to even think about it. They say if you try to replace Eden, she’ll break in your house and take your eyeballs.”
Ashley laughed and looked up at her boyfriend with a very amused look. "Where the heck did that come from, babe?" she asked, still chuckling.
Lucas shrugged.
“It’s kind of like Bloody Mary,” Lucas replied. “You know?”
