Lulu was still panicking, and still very mad at Eric - a twist of black smoke snaking up her arm.
Lulu was still panicking, and still very mad at Eric - a twist of black smoke snaking up her arm.
He managed to get Kathleen out, and shoved her slightly. "Run!"
Lulu glanced at the girl Eric was so keen on protecting, raising an eyebrow. The three had nothing in common except music. Why were they on the list?
Kathleen ran, glancing back darting out the door. Eric fell.. "Shit!"
Lulu groaned, leaning down to offer her good hand. “We’ll get you to a hospital, but in the meantime - we have a lot to discuss.”
"No shit…" He muttered, pulling himself up. "Um… thanks for that…"
“For what?” She asked, opening the door for service and pulling out her phone.
"The-" He gestured vaugely. "The thing. And, um, helping me find Kath."
“Oh. Okay,” She said, making the call and putting her phone in her pocket. “There’s an ambulance coming.”
He nodded, blinking. "Guess they did have a gun…"
“No dip, Sherlock.” She said, looking over at him. “Kathleen?”
"I got her to run." He said. "She was shaken up, but nothing bad.
"Okay." She said, glancing down at her own wound. God, it hurt. It hurt like hell. She bit her tongue and looked towards the road, willing the ambulance to come faster.
"How long do you thing they'll take?" He asked, looking around.
"I don't know. You keep asking me questions I don't know the answer to," She snapped, then softened and looked at him. "Sorry. I…sorry. Anger."
"It's fine." He said, softly.
"Okay." She didn't say anything more, but didn't look away, either. The sun, going through his hair, made it look like it was almost glowing, with all the green.
Eric looked up at her, hearing the sirens. "Guess they're here."
"Thank god." She sighed, rolling her eyes, and stood, offering a hand to Eric.
He stood up, shakily opening the door.
Paramedics spilled out of the ambulance, grabbing the two of them, putting Eric on a stretcher and leaving Lulu to stand, guiding them both into the ambulance.
Eric looked up, trying to lift his head. "Um…"
The paramedics didn't speak, instead getting to immediate work on his leg - one injecting a sedative, another getting out some mean-looking tools. They did the same for Lulu, who raised an eyebrow at him. "Yes?"
He blinked blearily. "Think it'll be bad?"
She shook her head comfortingly. "Not with these doctors."
