"Alright. It's just another option. I will be able to take care of you just fine," Pollux reassured Rykah, "I just wasn't sure if you trusted me enough, is all."

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

Rykah stiffened at that, But.. But then I'll owe you! he thought, a little panicked, despite hiding it well, and masking it with slight confusion.

@Becfromthedead group

"What? I'm really just a stranger to you. I think it'd freak me out if I got picked up by some stranger in the woods because I was hurt."
Pollux shrugged to himself.
I wonder if he realizes what I am… Pollux wondered.

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

Rykah bit his lip, nervous for that very reason. Yes, Pollux was a stranger. Yes, he lived in a small shelter in the woods. No, he had no way to pay any kind of medical bill. And no, he had no clue what the other really was, just that this whole situation was an anxiety nightmare.

@Becfromthedead group

"No need to worry," Pollux said, "I really mean well. Oh… by the way, if you want anything to eat, I'd be glad to go out and pick you something up. I'm sure you're hungry as well as tired."

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

"N-No thank you.. I'm not hungry right now.." he mumbled, though in truth he was lying. Unfortunately this was another skill he was good at, so the only thing the other would get from his tone was nerves and tiredness.

Pollux tilted his head.
"You sure?"
He silently wished to himself that he actually kept some food around the house, but having no need for it himself, he usually chose not to. On the one hand, he thought of digging in his pantry, searching for something, but he was fairly certain the only "food" he had in stock was a few bags of animal blood.

@Becfromthedead group

"Alright, then," Pollux said, "Just let me know if there's anything you need. I'll be here. I'll try to set anything that needs to be set later, and you're welcome to spend the night here. Actually, I'd prefer you do, unless you have a ride home."

@Becfromthedead group

"Of course," Pollux replied, "I couldn't possibly have left you out there."
He tilted his head. Something felt really off, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

Rykah nodded, falling silent and suppressing a yawn. It was getting late, and he was tired. Not that he would sleep with the storm raging overnight. And the fact tha t he was in a strangers home with no feasible way of escape for the time being.

@Becfromthedead group

"If you want my bed for the night, you're more than welcome to it," Pollux insisted, "I uh… I have work to stay up doing, so I'm more than fine out here."
The truth of the matter was more that he didn't actually sleep, so didn't really need the bed for that.

@Becfromthedead group

"I'm just doing work," Pollux reassured Rykah, "And if you'd like, I can find something else to help you sleep."
He shrugged a bit.
"You really don't have to worry about burdening me, if that's a concern of yours."

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

"No thank you… " hummed Rykah, not wanting to give another answer as he found himself in a more awkward spot than before. The only thing worse at this point would be finally getting back to his tarp shelter thingy and finding his art supplies and old notepads ruined. He mentally cringed at the idea.

@Becfromthedead group

"Well, if you say so," Pollux said, "I'll be awake, so don't hesitate to ask me for anything. I'll be back shortly to look at your wing again, if that's okay."

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

Rykah nodded, seeming to relax a bit as the other finally left him to his own devices. Pulling his uninjured wing, and tail tightly around himself for comfort he resigned himself to a long night.

@Becfromthedead group

For a little bit, Pollux sat on his bed, reading a book. He kept an eye on the time, eventually going back to check on Rykah and seeing if there was anything else more he needed to do for his wing.
“Hey, mind if I check that out one more time, now that the swelling has probably gone down some?”

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

Rykah flinched a little when he came back, but seemed to recover fast. "Y-Yeah.. you can lookit over.." he moved to give the other better access to get a look at the injury.

@Becfromthedead group

Pollux hummed to himself as he examined the wing. It wasn't quite bent, just held strangely because of how Rykah was trying to keep the pressure off. He carefully made an effort to keep his teeth concealed, because if Rykah found out- that is, if he hadn't already- he might be scared off. And that was the last thing he wanted right now.
"Actually, it's not quite as bad as I thought," Pollux explained, "I don't think anything needs to be set. It just needs to be protected and such so you can heal."

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

Rykah nodded, looking a little relieved at that. Being more worried about his wing and anxiety, he hadn't had time to think about the few strange details about Pollux. "How long do you think it will take to heal?"

@Becfromthedead group

“I haven’t dealt with a lot of wings,” Pollux admitted, “but a human arm would take six weeks or so. I take it your wing bones at least are hollow, so it may take less than that.”
