(HEY BEC!)
Rykah nodded, "You can take me after breakfast.." not about to turn down the food Pollux had made before he woke up.
“Yeah, of course,” Pollux replied, “I’ll be ready to leave whenever you are. Ah, I should probably also leave you my number, in case you have any more problems. I’m glad to help, or find you someone else who can help.”
Rykah nodded, "Alright.." he said softly, though he knew he probably wouldn't call. No… when he got back his first priority would be repairing his makeshift shelter, next would be working on a way to stay fed while his wing healed.
Pollux wrote down his number and slid it over to Rykah.
He started getting ready to leave, starting by slipping a hoodie over his clothes. With that, he went to search for his gloves and a couple of other things.
Rykah pocketed it, before getting to his feet, making sure he was ready to go.
"You ready?" Pollux asked, pulling his hood over his head and pulling his gloves on.
He tied his boots up, then got back to his feet and slung a bag over his shoulder.
"Yeah, ready." Said Rykah with a timid smile, moving to follow him out the door.
Pollux stepped outside and locked the door behind him once Rykah stepped out. He kept his face tilted away from the sun as well as he could. The light was nearly blinding, but he bore it anyway. He had his helmet tucked under his arm, and he put it on as he made his way to his bike.
"You'll have to give me directions to your place," he said.
"Seriously, you can just drop me off near where you found me" he said softly, not wanting to get too close to his home.
"You don't need to walk too far," Pollux insisted, "Your system's been through shock after shock, between the injuries and medication. Plus, it'll just hurt more than it needs to."
He started up the engine.
Rykah shook his head, "Seriously, I'll be fine, just drop me near where you found me yesterday, it's a five minute walk I promise." He said persuasively.
Pollux sighed.
"Fine. I'm not gonna get a location out of you, huh? I can always find a slightly closer spot in the park if you want, though," he replied.
"The area near the gazebo would be good" said Rykah softly, relieved that the other wasn't pressing for the information anymore.
"You sure? There's nowhere closer? Like a backroad or something I could take?" Pollux asked, not pressing, but clearly concerned. He turned around to face Rykah, but the sun hit his face just right that it made him recoil a bit. It wasn't quite a burn, but the small flash of light on his skin felt like being popped with hot oil.
Rykah was looking out the window, so he hadn't seen anything. "No.. Like I said, its pretty out of the way." He answered calmly, hoping the other would drop it completely.
"Well, alright then," he sighed, "You really don't want me seeing where you live, I guess. Which I guess makes sense. You don't want me hurting you, but you didn't want to be rude about it when you were vulnerable."
He closed his helmet and the bike started forward.
Rykah flinched a bit at that, but said nothing more, not wanting to dig himself in further. He knew it would be better if the other didn't know any more than he did already.
"What's the matter?" Pollux asked, genuinely confused at the silence.
He was pretty sure Rykah was loathe to say much at this point because he had realized Pollux was a vampire.
"But yeah, sorry if I scared you or anything."
"No.. No its nothing against you. I just don't like people knowing where I live in general." He said softly, still totally clueless on the vampire thing despite the writer's confusion.
"Yeah, that's the kind of stuff most people say to make me feel better or whatever. Honestly, I'm not mad about it," Pollux continued, still not aware they weren't talking about the same thing.
"At least you didn't freak out on me."
Rykah blinked in confusion, "Why.. why would I freak out?" He asked softly, "Honestly.. you're.. you're not the first person to question me about where I live."
Pollux stopped talking for a second.
"Wait. Do you not… do you not know what I am? I thought it had to do with that. But I promise I'm only questioning you because I'm concerned for your health. Otherwise, we wouldn't even be here right now. So yeah…"
Rykah was even more confused now, "Honestly I have no clue what you're talking about right now."
After they had pulled to a stop, Pollux turned off the bike and turned to Rykah.
"Yeah, I'll show you. Just don't freak out or anything, okay?"
He opened his mouth to where his fangs were clearly bared and waited for a response.
Rykah blinked in surprise for a moment, but didn't immediately freak out. "Vampire…. that… okay then." He said softly, not sure what else to say when he clearly had wings, wolf ears and a tail.
