“Gods, I’ve been so beat up on the past couple of days. I just want a hot bath to clean up and soothe my wounds,” Felix mused.
“Gods, I’ve been so beat up on the past couple of days. I just want a hot bath to clean up and soothe my wounds,” Felix mused.
Eclipse hummed in agreement, "That'd be nice.." he said quietly.
“I’m glad you don’t think it just seems petty,” Felix laughed.
"Why would it be petty?" asked Eclipse softly.
“We just have bigger things to worry about, is all,” Felix replied.
He smiled slightly.
“But that’s okay. I guess it doesn’t mean we can’t dream.”
Eclipse nodded in response, staying quiet for the most part.
“How far do you think they’ll follow us?” Felix asked, his tone shifting.
"I'm not sure…" he said softly. "At least to the border… maybe into the next country too…"
“Yeah, probably,” Felix sighed, “Wishful thinking believing we can just escape one nation over, then. I had kind of hoped…”
Eclipse bit his lip, shrinking back against the cart. "I'm sorry…" he said softly.
“It’s okay. I think it was worth it,” Felix reassured Eclipse, “That’s just the tiredness talking. Wouldn’t we all like the easiest way out?”
Eclipse nodded, "Tried that… didn't seem to work all that well…"
Felix bit his lip.
"Sorry, that's not what I… that's not what I meant. I just meant like a shortcut, cutting corners… Not that…"
He shuddered a bit. What if he'd showed up just a little later? Would Eclipse have been dead?
Maybe he would've been, maybe not. No one could know now, since Eclipse was alive, though maybe not all that well as he thought back to that night, wondering he actually could've done it in the first place.
Felix traced his hand along the edge of the wagon.
“I don’t know, I’m glad to have you with me.”
(While I'm here, Imma let you know now, that after the weekend I'm PROBABLY gonna be off for about three weeks.
Next week is march break and apparently that tripled due to Corona Virus, so to preserve my safety on here, I will be offline for most of the time I am away from School.
(Okay, I gotcha. Man all this COVID stuff is driving the school systems crazy. My state cancelled all public universities for two weeks but mine has yet to do that.)
Yeah… everyone's panicking… and Canada'shealth officials have named it a pandemic.
The World Health Organization has declared it a pandemic… which like, yes, that’s good because public health needs funding, but the media is fearmongering. I’m not worried about getting sick, I just don’t want to get other more vulnerable people sick.
There’s so much misinformation on the news it makes me sick. Especially since this is supposed to be my area of expertise. Drives me insane.
yeah…
there's even supposed to be this baby boy that got it.
Which of course, contradicts everything we've been told about the virus.
My mom thinks that there's stuff they aren't telling us.
I have direct contact with a professional in the field so I’m extremely up to date on all of it lol. At least within my state. I really don’t think it’s as bad as people are afraid it is- that is, unless you’re very old, very young, or immunocompromised. Even then, with the right monitoring and treatment early on, survival rate is better.
That baby boy is probably the exception, not the rule, for which age group this virus is affecting.
There are people worried it’s a bioterrorism agent. If it is, the perpetrators may have caused mass panic, but it’s 1. not that bad in the grand scheme of things 2. easy to find a vaccine 3. Kind of weird that they would want to hurt their own people indiscriminately (assuming it’s “a ploy by China”).
I can’t say for sure whether they’re hiding things, but my gut instinct says this time they’re being as honest as possible. I know China was slow to share info and stats on the virus, but that was weeks ago. And of course they’re not telling us the things they aren’t sure about yet. They don’t want to give us more information.
I’m generally distrustful of government and stuff, but I do trust the WHO and the CDC pretty thoroughly. (And their websites are good if you want updates. Idk what the Canadian health organization thing is, but maybe they have a site with helpful info too.)
THAT all sounds WAY WAY WAY more believable than anything else I've heard, I mean, cleaning out my locker at school I was told the reason for it was because they were spraying pesticides in the school, and the school didn't want to be responsible for damages.
I'm sure they are doing a disinfectant sweep, but that was a little extreme, and the teachers I talked to right after said it wouldn't be the case.
Also there were pictures of grocery stores where the shelves have been cleaned out because of people panivcking.
And all my extracurriculars were canceled.
Point is, people are overreacting, and Imma just sit back, watch, and take everything with a bag of salt and a load of common sense.
Yeah, like for you, because you're young and in a low-risk category, your main concern is going to be infecting others. So no need for panic for people like us. It's just a matter of making sure our older relatives are okay and whatnot.
Well that and my mom, who I believe has a compromised, or at least weaker immune system.
Yeah, it's kind of scary because of that honestly.
