Killian nodded. "I see." He replied. "That makes sense. Sometimes I do go over the fight, but usually only to get the details down, or to figure out what to do better next time." He smirked slightly.
Killian nodded. "I see." He replied. "That makes sense. Sometimes I do go over the fight, but usually only to get the details down, or to figure out what to do better next time." He smirked slightly.
”That makes sense. I would hate for our fights to become predictable.” she acknowledged, returning his smirk.
He chuckled, shaking his head. "Darling, I am many things, but boring isn't one of them." He replied with a smirk. "And neither is predictable." He finished his food, setting the plate on the table.
Jade gave him a mischievous look at the familiar banter. ”I never said boring, sweetheart. Honestly, somedays I actually look forward to our battles if only for the excitement.”
Killian smirked. "Oh? Me too." He replied with a grin. "Of course, I prefer the ones where you don't challenge me and I get away with whatever i was doing." He shrugged, stretching lazily.
”What? And let you get sloppy? Then the police would catch you easily.” Jade retorted. ”No no. It's much better to keep each other on our toes. Iron sharpens iron after all.” Besides my helmet has a police scanner built-in to it, so I'm always informed.
"Darling, you may be iron, but I am gold." Killian replied, smirking. "And the police could never catch me. I would never let that happen." Something dark flickered in his voice for a moment, then was gone.
Jade had heard that tone once or twice before and always wondered what it meant but instead, she raised a brow and asked, ”You consider yourself soft, malleable and weak? I have to say that doesn't sound like you at all.”
Killian gave a small laugh. "I meant valuable and gorgeous." He made a face at her, shaking his head. "And I think you knew that."
She laughed in response. ”Well, I knew you considered yourself valuable. That's something not a lot of people can say about themselves with confidence.” Jade looked at Hex, ”Though, I wouldn't say ”gorgeous”… Perhaps more rugged…”
Killian rolled his eyes. "Ehh. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." He replied with a smirk. "And what, you don't find me handsome?" He quirked an eyebrow at her, still smirking.
Jade gave a small hum in thought. ”If we had met as normal people instead of super-powered rivals… And if I didn't have the ability to figure out your identity, then perhaps. You do have some physical traits many people would consider attractive.” she admitted.
Killian rolled his eyes. "I didn't ask for hypotheticals and what other people consider handsome or attractive, I asked about you." He replied, leaning forward and looking at her. "So. Dodging the question, miss smarty-pants?"
Jade gave a small huff. ”My answer wasn't good enough for you? Fine.” she leaned forward, analyzing him. ”Let’s see…” He’s strong and looks very fit… Tall; a lot of people like that… He does have a sharp wit and a sense of humor… the tattoo is either rebellious or personal… Scars add a bit of mystery… I know I didn't cause all of them… When her eyes landed on his, she froze. To her, they were very intriguing with how they changed color and… something about just looking at them in this way brought a light blush to her cheeks.
Killian's eyes were their normal green color, though with hints of grey in the edges. He raised an eyebrow, smirking at her blush. "Is that a yes, miss Brainwave?" He asked, still smirking. He shifted in his seat a little, running a hand through his dark hair.
Jade looked away sharply. ”If you're just looking for an ego boost, you can find it somewhere else. Besides if you're that confident, why would my opinion matter other than to embarrass myself?”
He chuckled. "Ouch." He replied, leaning back in his seat. "But if you blush after being asked the question, then avoid answering, then the answer is usually yes." He stretched, then picked up his plate and took it to the kitchen, putting it in the dishwasher, then coming back.
”S-shut up, Hex. I know that.” she groaned burying her face in her hands out of frustration. ”This is one of the reasons I wear a helmet: I have a lousy poker face. I can control what my voice sounds like but not my expression.” Jade found herself admitting.
Killian chuckled. "I see." He replied as he sat down again. "Well. Lucky for me, I don't need a full-on helmet." He winked, gesturing at the half mask that still sat on the table from the night before. He wasn't worried about her seeing his face, since she had obviously already figured out who he was.
(Playful teasing! Lol)
Jade rolled her eyes. ”Oh, yes. You're a natural thespian.” she declared sarcastically. ”Anyways, a full helmet wouldn't work with your costume. But,” she added a bit more serious, ”if you did use one; I would have had a harder time finding out who you are without it.”
Killian raised an eyebrow. "And? You would have figured it out anyway. So what? Heroes have a code of honor and shit like that. You wouldn't use my identity against me." He replied with a smirk and a grin.
”No, your right. I wouldn't. Nevertheless, I don't take that risk with my own identity.” She confirmed with a slight shudder. ”Some of us heroes like to mince details over this so-called ”code” you mentioned.”
He shrugged. "Ehh. But you're the only one I deal with on a regular basis. And the only one smart enough to get my identity figured out." He replied. "Plus, I'm not the biggest villain out there." He cocked his head from side to side, cracking his neck.
Jade shrugged, slightly mocking what he had just done. ”Ehh. You're known well enough to be considered a dangerous menace. And the feeling is mutual: you're the only real villain I deal with. At least you were creative enough to come up with an alias for yourself.” she sighed lightly before raising a brow. ”Wait, was that a compliment in there?”
