Sophie raised a brow as Jade tried to smother her laughter at Flame’s indignant reaction to the water attack. ”Since when do you have a thing for bad boys?”
Jade froze at the question, ”W-what are you talking about, Soph?”
Hex grinned a little manically, the water swirling around Flame. Flame sputtered and roared, flames flickering and dying down.
”You’re blushing.” Sophie pointed out with a smirk. ”Not that I blame you. He is good looking but, Jade, he's a criminal.”
”I am not blushing.” Jade denied turning back to the tv. Please don't kill him, Killian.
Hex submerged the hero, stalking towards him until he was close to the hero. He spoke, voice too quiet for the cameras to catch. Then Flame passed out. Hex shook his head, the water melting away as Hex slipped away.
Sophie rolled her eyes at Jade who had her eyes fixed on the screen. ”I know I'm always telling you to find a guy but I didn't mean a guy like that.”
”I don't have time to find a guy anyway, so you don't have to worry about it.” Jade recited out of habit, not even blinking as she tried to figure out what Hex told Flame and if Flame was ok.
Hex was gone, no longer onscreen. Flame was unconscious, though unharmed. The reporter was babbling onscreen about it, though she didn't seem to have anything worthwhile to add to it.
”Look I know you have that project about heroes and villains you're always working on but you need a life.” Sophie pointed out.
”I might go out later.” Jade said to placate her roommate as she grabbed her laptop and headed to her room. ”I need to make a phone call first.”
Hex headed home. Once there, he took off his mask and shirt, examining the spot on his side where Flame had gotten him. He winced. The skin was burnt, bleeding a little, the skin blackened. He sat down, trying to think of what to do.
Jade made sure her door was closed before dialing Killian’s number. She knew the fight wasn't too far from Killian’s house. Please pick up. she bit her lip as the phone rang.
Killian took the call. "Hello?" he said easily, putting the phone on speaker as he looked for some bandages and supplies to take care of the burn.
”Are you hurt? I saw the news.” Jade asked, skipping over the introduction on the call.
"Ah. I'm fine." Killian replied. "Burned, but fine." he shrugged a little, and kept working on the burn.
Jade let out a small sigh of relief as she heard that. ”What started the fight? Do you need any help?”
(Flame isn't one to start a fight just because he wants to; he has legitimate reasons.)
(i know. I just needed a name and that was one I decided to steal. It's not the same Flame as yours, i promise)
"I have no idea what started it…I was in my suit, though, so maybe he thought I was about to strike somewhere." Killian shrugged.
(Ah, ok. That's cool! Lol)
(lol I wouldn't steal an entire character like that, i promise)
Jade rubbed her forehead in annoyance. ”Hothead. If you were going to hit anywhere, you wouldn't just walk.” she stated, much more familiar with his usual M.O. ”I’m glad you're ok, at least.” She told him.
Killian shrugged. He hissed between his teeth as a jolt of pain shot through him from the burn. "Yeah." He said through gritted teeth.
Jade winced sympathy at the familiar noise. ”That sounds painful. How bad is it?” she was hoping she would be able to help since a hospital was out of the question.
"Eh, not that bad. I'm fine. Just bandaging it up right now." Killian replied.
”Ok.” Jade nodded, unsure of what else to say. She didn't want to pepper him with twenty questions, she mostly wanted to make sure he was alright.
He hissed softly again as he finished up the bandage. "Done." He let out a breath, sitting down. He shook his head a little.
Is this awkward? I don't know what say aside from more questions. Jade sighed. ”That’s good.” she finally said.
Killian smiled a little. "Yeah, thanks." He let out a breath. "Why did you call?" He asked curiously.
